Don't consider buying this car
I have only had this vehicle for less than 2 years. We bought it used from a car dealership it is a 2013 model. We have already had to change a coolant solenoid valve & now the big problem. The transmission has already gone bad it needs rebuilt. Ford's power train warranty is only 60,000 miles and we have 74,000 miles on it. It is going to cost me $3,000. I have seen many other people with this same problem. I would recommend looking at a different SUV in the same class. Do not consider a Ford Escape you will greatly regret it. I already do. I just hope that after getting this repair done that it will last atleast 4 years until I can get it paid off and trade it in.

Just bought my Escape
I went to take a test drive with my wife as the Escape was the only small SUV I had not test driven yet. I test drove the Equinox, Terrain, and the new RAV4. After the drive in the new Escape, I was sold! I got the SEL trim level, a two thousand dollar rebate, plus the X-plan for being employed as a Ford supplier. The make-over for 2013 is a big improvement inside and out for the Escape. Ford has done a good job redesigning the 2013 model. I'm 6'-4" and 238lbs. and fit very comfortably in the Escape. Love everything about it so far. I don't understand all the negative reviews and I hope I don't experience any of the problems described by others. Average of 28.5 mpg 70hwy/30city.
A sporty little SUV, packed with amenities!
We bought a 2013 Escape SEL, that had about 12,000 miles on it and so far have had no problems. 26MPG all around milegage is pretty nice for such a sporty, fun to drive vehicle of this size. The interior is very nice with leather heated seats, auto-dimming mirrors, various colors of interior lighting to choose from and a very comfortable climate control system. We have had two re-call notices (of no consequence) which is a little inconvenient.
2.0 EcoBoost AWD is GREAT
Right off the bat I got 21.3 MPG in stop and go city traffic, 27 MPG limited Highway. I've had NO problems with Sync or My Ford Touch. My iPhone paired immediately and hasn't needed to be re-paired. My Ford Touch is totally different then operating Radio and Climate with Dials, Levers, or Buttons. Everything is on the touch screen is clearly marked. Spend 2 minutes to become familiar with NEW technology and you won't have a problem. Voice command works well, not quite like the Enterprise computer, and you might have to close the windows. Acceleration in the 2.0 is fantastic, Sport mode transmission gives quicker shifts and a more performance oriented driving experience.
