Happy towing.
Since purchasing new in August of2006 I've put 25,000 trouble free miles on this truck. I have been pleasantly surprised that the thing still feels solid with no rattles or squeeks. The 5.9 Cummins turbo diesel engine is great, tows my trailer with ease. It has over 7000 miles with thetrailer behind it so far and many more miles carrying heavyloads in the bed. The fuel mileage is decent for a 7000lb. vehicle but the mileage while towing is where it really shines. Overall I have been very pleased with this truck.
Another great truck
This is another great truck from Dodge. The seats are a little on the firm side, but adjusting them every few hours makes the trips bearable. Pulling a 25' trailer grossly weighted at 8000 pounds, 35000 miles a year, I don't even know it's there. A change of the exhaust and the power and mileage gets better without voiding the warranty. :)

Hard Seats
I truly love the power and ride of this truck. The trans could be a bit better but I can live with it. The seats, they are another story! I have had constant pain in my back since purchasing this truck. In the past I have owned several Dodge products, and always liked the comfort level of the seating - this is the exception!
'06 Ram 2500 QC 4x4 CUMMINS 4x4
Truck of trucks. If you are looking for a heavy duty Ram, the Cummins should be your only choice especially with a 4x4. I thought hard about the mega cab but then realized I don't ride in the back seat so I stuck with the quad cab. This is my second Ram with the first being a '96. Fit and finish has come a long way in 10 years like it should. The interior is a bit boring and the plastic wood trim is horrible any way you look at it but can be replaced after market with ease. The ride is smooth, acceleration is better than I thought it would be in a diesel 4x4. Mileage is 15 according to the trip computer with mostly city driving. Stock ride height is taller than Super Duty or Chevy
Awesome Power!
I traded in a Ram 1500 with a 5.9L (gas) engine and my new 5.7L Hemi (w/auto)completely blows it away. 100 more HP and about the same gas mileage. I average around 11 MPG around town and get aroud 16 on the highway (12 towing a 4000 lbs TT). The new 2500 is exremely well designed inside and out. I have a Sport model with leather bucket seats and fixed center console and it's very comfortable and loaded with features. My wife is jealous becuase it's more luxurious than her car! Navigation and satellite radio are both fun extras that I would have never considered but ended up really liking. My only complaint is the low ride height of the 2500 2WD nose and the unattractive stock wheels.
