Dodge Magnum- Top notch quality and fun

2005 Dodge Magnum RT Rwd 4dr Wagon (5.7L 8cyl 5A)

In 50 years of driving, I've owned a lot of new cars from all price ranges. This Dodge Magnum exhibits the best overall quality of any vehicle, foreign or domestic, that I have ever purchased. It combines great looks, great performance, and solid quality. I waited for GM to come out with something like this vehicle and they never even came close, so my next new car in a few years will likely be another Dodge Magnum, probably the SRT. With the Magnum, American made cars are again fun to drive.

Had the Magnum RT for almost 6mos now, and still always getting questions, comments, and thumbs up on the road. This car is as fun to drive as it looks! Made an 8hr trip in 6 1/2 without a single complaint heard from the passengers. The transmission is silky smooth.

I have always loved the Chevy Nomad, and when I first laid eyes on the vechicle, I knew it was build for me. The station wagon 50's look. The feels of nostagia, I get when I'm behind the wheel. This vehicle reminds me of when I was a child. I have always loved wagons. That was the main reason I bought this. Exceptional automobile. Beautiful. Comfortable. Great performance. Test drive this car before your next purchase. You gotta be in it, for it to truely win you over.

I have had my Magnum Rt for 6 months now and find it is as much fun to drive as the day I bought it. With the engine management system, its gets very good mileage for the engine size. Ive had many compiments about it from strangers and havent found one person that didnt think it is one bad dude!!! It has so many great options I wont even list them here. I had it on a long trip and find it is one of the easiest cars to drive at highway speed. Daimler-Chrysler has hit the mother lode!! I recommend this vehicle highly and believe me, this isnt your dads wagon LOL!!

Wow, what an impressive car. Very European in styling and handling. The cargo functionality is awesome; I can fit anything in the back of that thing. The gas mileage for the Hemi is nice; I got 21 miles/gal on my last fill-up; better than many 6-bangers. People talk to me all the time about the car-at the gas station-store at work-"how's the Magnum?" they ask; like its a member of the family. Hehe

I am a mom/volunteer on the go. Have had a van/mini-van for 23 years! Took some getting used to, but I ABSOLOUTLY ADORE my MAGNUM! It's zippy, has pep, plenty of room to haul groceries for a large family, haul stuff to the beach (including surf boards - even a LONG board!) Took it into the mountains this fall, it took the steep inclines with no problems.

I test drove the RT and the SXT and decided to go with the Special Edition SXT that offered what I was looking for....being a "Grandma". I didn't think collecting speeding tickets with the Hemi would set a good example. I picked it up and drove all day...what FUN..all the comments about people looking and pointing and asking questions are TRUE!!!! I had read and read all the reviews for the past 3 mos.and really wondered if it wasn't just being overrated by everyone..After going 2 miles on the test drive, I was a believer..As the saying goes....Try it, you just might like it! Quiet, QUICK, Sturdy, beautiful...I could go on and on but you need to see for yourself.

It really is a pleasure to drive this car. It is very comfortable, solid and quiet going down the road. For a car in the $30,000.00 price range,it really has alot of good features. People do notice it when I drive it.

I must say I really love my Magnum. It really does have the power you want when you ask for it. The design is what got me interestested in this car, I love the low slung broadbased wheel stance and it just squats down and takes off when I put my foot in it. I bought the car in Nov. 2004 and it has 11,200 miles on it. Since I got it , I have taken trips from Tucson Az to Roanoke Va round trip and in March to Kansas and Missouri and back and had no problems of any kind with my car. Of course the gas mileage was't the best, but hey it's a HEMI. Want do you want, your cake and eat it too?

Power to spare with milage to be proud of. 1500 mile trip with 80 mph+ cruise most of the time achived 23mpg - COOL. Every day backk and forth to work is about 20mpg, constant city stop and is only about 14mpg. Quite secure ride. Electronic Stability Program (ESP)is fantastic on wet roads you swear this thing has all wheel drive.

This thing is just a cool car , go with the larger wheel and tire package and get the 5.7L Hemi at whatever cost, you won't be regret it. The Hemi runs as a 4-cylinder on the highway. And it handles excellent, smaller turn radius than you think. The V6's are pretty stout too.

This is a great vehicle for the 30 - 40 something guy with a family. Gives you all the performance, luxury, and utility a family man could want. It's definitely a good compromise between performance and luxury. BTW... this is probably not a good daily commuter car since you'll never get the MPG Dodge advertises. Plus you have to buy medium grade fuel (89 or better). All that said, I like the car a lot. It's the best thing on the market now and for 2006.

Just the leather package and sunroof on this SXT AWD. At 6000 miles reliability has been good. Found random squeaks that will appear for a while then vanish for a month - one was the rear cargo cover when it was extended. It's a great freeway car, speed control even downshifts to keep the speed constant. In town poor visibility can be a problem for backing up, same as a Pacifica I drove. I'm up to 18 mpg in the suburbs driving gently, get 22 hwy. In hindsight, I would have got the protection group, cloth seats, better radio/speakers. This is a very solid, versitile car for active people. I got it despite the styling, but some of you may like it.

Easy to handle, quiet ride, visual ability excellent. Roomy inside makes shopping a breeze with high hatchback door up high. Very comfortable seating, for 5 people with large leg room in back seat. Adjustable peddle and seats make it easy for myself at 6ft. to drive and for my 5'3 wife to easily change quickly as she drives 90% of the time. Smooth at turns and brakes are excellent. I never thought that I would own a station wagon. But the Magnum 2005 is not your average station wagon. This car has style, plenty of speed and pick up, even with the smallest engine. For me: Hemi = speeding tickets. I wanted the blue, however not in stock. Test drove the silver/grey and once I was behind the wheel, I did not care what color the outside was. Very low road noise, smooth handling, plenty of interior room and awesome body style, who really cares what color the exterior is as long as you can get one. My brother just drove mine for the first time and now he wants one.!!

I just traded my Durango for the Hemi powered Magnum. Frankly the family didn't need all the space in trade for MPG's. I had to have the utility of an SUV just not the size, but I personally wanted some style. The Magnum was the only option. Toss in the Hemi and it was a no-brainer. I love the agility and responsiveness of the Magnum, the wife loves the practicality, and the kids aren't embarrassed to be seen in it. I've only had it a few days, so the verdict is still out on the quality and reliability. Everything else is nothing less than perfection, given all other things being relatively equal. I hope to enjoy it for many years to come.

We went from the Ford Excursion into a new Magnum, and I must say, what a pleasant transition from a lunker truck SUV to a performance wagon. Actually, you don't even know you're driving a station wagon in the Magnum RT. Not only is the Hemi power impressive, but it rides so smooth and quiet (almost too quiet) inside. Nice stereo and sport interior are easy on the ears and eyes, too!

Ive had this car about a month now and I find driving to be a real pleasure again. This car is fun and easy to drive, with plenty of power when needed and also great gas mileage for it being a muscle car. There is plenty of storage in the rear and there is plenty of leg and head room. Im 6ft. 4inches and I have no problem whatsoever with head and leg room. I think this car is the ultimate in practicality combined with a beautiful design. I get the thumbs up sign wherever I go. I highly recommend this vehicle for the shear pleasure of driving!!!

I bought my R/T Magnum new after driving the 300 and Charger I liked the magnum the best as far as handling. There is nothing I do not like about this car other than they are not making it after 2008. Shame on you Dodge, you never really advertised this car much as it was that was your fault, all things considered it sold well to begin with. Personally I think you should have redesigned it to offer a third seat, watch how it would sell then Dodge Brothers. I would buy another and I just may try an 08.

Over all I love the look and handling of this car. Plenty of room for the grandkids and all their toys, etc. On the highway gets decent gas mileage however, the intown mileage stinks. The price you pay for the HEMI. Main concern is the transmission leaks and the wheel alignments. We've had it to the dealership twice for both issues and were assured that the problem was fixed; 5 months later we have another transmission leak and it already feels like the front end is out of alignment. (We just purchased new tires before the last alignment)Tires are very expensive for this car and they are already showing significant wear without a lot of miles on them.

This vechicle is a pleasure to drive and ride in. My husband and I truely love the room and the feel of this car. We are able to use this car to travel in and have the room we need to haul 3 grand sons in and around. The looks we get when we drive the magnum are unbeleiveable. I think the black color is the best out of all the colors. The special feature of the car going into a 4 cylindar at around 50 miles per hour give you a great gas milage for a hemi. We just love it and you will to if you give it a chance. We were an Intrepid owner since 1993 and owned 7 of them, so to go to the magnum was a big step for us but a very great one.

The 3.7l v6 provides ample performance, although if I had the cash I'd have bought the V8--quieter and smoother ride (drove both) but the big v6 is no slouch and its quieter than other vehicles I test drove. The exterior is a head turner. The interior is more than comfortabe witht he leather seats. Despite what the reviews said I didn't find the stereo to be difficult to operate, however the reviewers are on the money when it comes to rear visibility--the wide posts leave wide gaps in your rear view. Overall I love it.

I have been admiring this car from afar since the day I saw it. I was driving a F150 to and from work and as a primary mode of transportation until gas hit 2.15 a gallon. That day I decided that I was not going to put more that ten dollars into my truck and hopefully I could make it to the dealer. I am six foot six so a Honda was not in the running. I sat down in the Magnum adjusted the seat and fell in love. Plenty of leg, knee, shoulder and head room. I decided to get the 2.7 engine instead of the Hemi based on the huge price jump for the Hemi. That was my only let down. Other than that the 2.7 has plenty of get up and go and I can save even more in gas.

I was granted the opportunity to drive a production ready version on a race track under the instruction of a professional driver named John Paul Jr. This car is built like a benz, handles like a BMW, and accelerates like a Viper. This thing is just DAMN fast for a full size wagon. The build quality both inside and out was as good or better than anything I've seen. They claim the body gaps are only .116 inches. I could go on, but it would take days!!!
