Dodge Magnum Doesn't Disappoint!
I have enjoyed every minute driving this car! I can't say enough about the performance of the 5.7 litre Hemi engine. The interior fit and finish is excellent with no 'squeaks and rattles' inside. Road noise is also kept to a minimum. If you are sitting on the fence - GET OFF AND GO BUY ONE! You will not be disappointed!
best ever
This is the best car we ever had and our past 5 cars have been Chrysler products but the magnum R/T is by far the best fun to drive gas mileage for a hemi isnt bad great ride roomy cant say that there is anything thats i dont like about it . Great job on building this car .
Love it
Best car I ever owned. By far the most fun to drive, especially when blowing off young kids. Their mouths drop open at he sight of my tail lights. Nice smooth, quiet ride.
Fantastic!!
Just love..... love this car. The styling is superb!! People keep asking what kind of vehicle it is. It's a great vehicle, lots of leg room, and space for everything. Only problem is, it's so beautiful, I keep finding hand marks on it from people trying to look into the car, and people will insist on parking so close. If your are looking for a wagon, look no further, this car is cool!! Great value for money.
The new Dodge
I wanted the RT but decided that the fuel economy would be better with the 3.5 V6, and probably fewer speeding tickets too. The SXT has plenty of power, gets decent mpg, great handling, and interior comfort. Definately the nicest car I've ever owned.
Freeway Cruise
I drive many new cars. Dodge was reliable in that there was always wind noise, excessive road noise, steering wobble and generally less control that one would want. The Magnum RT HEMI is an entire different machine. The undesireable noises have been handled to a large degree. The winner is the front suspension, wheel/tire size and the star is the Hemi Engines performance. The vehicle response is almost to much. Acceleration is great and the RWD makes good use of all the power. Sudden power spurts at freeway speeds for lane change ie passing, on off ramp performance and emergency deceleration are all outstanding. Ist's hard to find a dealership that has one in stock and most dealers
FAST AS FAST CAN BE
This is one of the sweetest vehicles I've driven. Plenty of room and feels like you were shot out of a gun when you walk on it at any speed. Has a nice exhaust note without being intrusive, handles great with a firm but comfortable ride. I guess the styling is love it or leave it as there is nothing out there quite like it. I personaly love it and find I have more compliments and questions from others than I have ever had before, and I've had a lot of new vehicles. The gas mileage is respectable about 19 MPG with a 50/50 mix of hiway and city driving, going up to 28 MPG on a hiway trip. Winter driving is OK but on glare ice it could use a set of ice radials, which I can't find in this size.
Bad On Gas but Really Hauls (Fast)
My Magnum RT RWD is a keeper. People stop, point, talk, stare and roll down windows, they ask "What is it? or "Love your car". It is thumbs up everywhere. Manual trans is a blast - winding roads or freeway. Huge inside for towing or guests. Stero rocks. Satelite radio is fantastic. U connect is the best and safe and really works! Love the car, but ran out of gas twice already by not watching the gauge. It goes and goes fast and is expensive to keep filled and prices are not going down. Dealers are demanding $5K-$10K over MSRP and not budging in negotiations so far.
Gotta love that Hemi
What fun! Didn't want to be another SUV in line waiting to pick up the kids from school. I wanted styling, comfort and power and the Magnum delivers. Gas milage in the city stinks but on the highway its great. A wonderful, stable ride. Makes merging on the freeway fun. The kids love it too.
My Station Wagon
I like my Station wagon except for one thing the transmission shifts really hard and it kind of annoying, and the manufactur dues not let you put a smoother transmission fluid in the car. And my radio dues not play MP3's like it is subpose too. Otherwise I am satisfied.
AWESOME CAR
The best buy for me in a long time. I wasn't sure whether to get an SUV or the Magnum SXT, but after owning mine for 3 months now, I know it was the right decision. Fuel mileage, handling, roomy interior and the excitment of driving a "Grocery Getter" that turns head was more than worth it. The whole family loves it and my kids call it the "Beast" :)! If you think of getting one (Dodge has come a long way with improvements and quality) take it one for an extended spin (highway, backroads and city) and I'm sure that you'll get it. It's worth checking out if you're in the market for a new, sporty, head-turning car (even for those in a mid-life-crisis)! I love my Mangnum "Beast" SXT, You'll too.
I love my Magnum
I love my Magnum. Spacious, comfortable and it's fun to drive. You won't believe the amount of attention you'll receive! What a blow to my ego when I realized the men where gawking at my car and not me LOL.I've had people stop me on the street and look it over. Please do yourself a favor if you are considering this car and "go for it". You won't be sorry!
Lots of Looks
I feel that DaimlerChrysler should be paying me for all the advertisement I provide to them. To clarify-- everywhere I go I find people staring and pointing at my car. If they catch me outside of it I am asked lots of questions about it and told what a nice looking car it is. I have had 3 new vehicles in my life and I have NEVER had this much attention for an automobile. I feel confident and secure in this car and LOVE to drive it. I guarantee you will also find this car fun and refreshing to drive.
HAS IT GOT A HEMI
FUN TO DRIVE. GETS A LOT OF LOOKS AND COMMENTS FROM PEOPLE ON THE STREET. EVERYONE WANTS TO KNOW IF IT'S GOT A HEMI.
Fun and Practical
I travel all over the country and I carry a large amount of cargo (clothes, golf clubs, household items, etc...) and my Magnum has been OUTSTANDING! Even with the 2.7L the acceleration is adequate in almost any situation and the fuel economy has been fantastic for such a large vehicle (averaging 22-28 depending on speed) even when loaded down. The styling is what drew me to it, the quality is why I'm keeping it until the V6 gives out. Then I can put my own version of the Hemi in it! The ride is so smooth and quiet, even at high speed, and it handles like a car 1000 lbs. lighter (Thanks Mercedes). Got mine for under $20,000, and I'm astounded with its features and looks. Go Dodge!
test
the car handels wonderful, you can feel that the car is actuali an german one, if you have the money by the car because the style is perfect
hemi RT
very nice styling...great power...just fun to drive...everyone looks at it, because of its great looks...18 mph is the average with 5000 miles driven so far. i have the dark grey so it does blend in to traffic well, and it is a great match, with the grey interior.the navagation system works so well, and is easy to use I use it all the time
The best car I ever bought
You would have-to-have one to understand. This is what I needed in a car and I have the 3.5 high output v6. I love it. The Hemi is great too, but you could keep up with it no problem trust me.
a must have vehicle
you have to drive it to belive it. not your grandpa's dodge. awesome vehicle to drive. turns heads every place i go. loves to driven fast and hard.
I Love My Dodge Magnum
This is perhaps my favorite new car, I lease a new one every 3 years. It has an enormous amount of power and drives like a luxury car.Everywhere I go I get oohs and ahhs.
Wonderful car!!
Just got my Magnum a couple of weeks ago. I bought the car that the dealer ordered because the one I had ordered wasnt near the point of being built. That is one point I would like to make if you are planning on ordering an RT...plan on a good long wait. Mine has been on order for three months and is still not built. It is a beautiful Mineral Gray with gorgeous leather seats. One of the best new cars I have ever purchased. Very solid feel good power and great handling. I felt right at home in this car from the first time I drove it.
Awesome Car!
Love the handling and design. I get compliments everywhere I go. Roomy and comfortable, yet practical.Loads of fun!
Fun and reliable
After years of driving minivans and big SUV's I thought I'll never get used to driving a sedan but I did and I love it. It feels like a sports car (and drives like one) There is lots of room for my 2 kids in the back with car seats, plus enough room if I have to take my German shepherd with me. I wish fuel economy would be better (just a tad better then my Expedition) I love this car
Guiddie Up!!!!!
I never thought I would have so much fun driving a car before. This car has not just Get Up and Go, its got GUIDDIE UP AND GO!!!!! I purchased the V-8 Hemi. Gas Mileage is not so good, but I knew what I was getting myself in to. The car is not an every day driver, but when she comes out of the Garage all she wants to do is run. The Handling around corners and curves is great, the "pick up" when you take off is incredible, and the room inside is amazing. It does not look like there is that much room in this car, but you can fit 5 Adults in there, and no problems. I recommend this car to anyone who has the self control to keep it under 100 mph. Have a great ride, WE DO!!!!
Will make excuses to drive somewhere!
This is the most fun vehicle I have owned. The Magnum turns heads where ever I go. The Hemi will force you back into your seat and even has kick when already at high speeds. Has lots of room, I fit a willow tree in it! Adults love all the room in the rear seats. Worth every penny I paid for it.
Magnum RT
Comfortable, fun to drive and VERY Quick. Too bad the traction control cannot be turned off. Rear seat had immense room. Long wheelbase makes it very stable but not as nimble.
Magnum
Our family of 5 loves the styling inside and out. The room...oh the room inside for me @ 6'2" in the front seats or the back seats is ample to say the least. With three fast growing children this is the car for us. Performance of the 3.5L is well suited and the handling is great. Break in we are averaging about 27 mpg highway. It is simply a pleasureable ride...and quiet too. Locations for under the hood is easily accessible.
The Beast!!!
I have purchased many cars over the years, this car is the BEAST!!! I purchased, the RT, in the black, and find that everyone is happy with my choice of color. I have gotten more looks, stares, questions, finger pointing and finger prints on the windows, than I can count. This is a fun car to drive, and is not your father's stationwagon!!!
Meets expectations
Very fun car to drive. Great for long road trips. Be aware that the car is a bit difficult to park, but is otherwise a solid platform for around town or on the road.
magnum info
Sluggish acceleration Awesome looking Makes funny noises Problems with alignment Gets a lot of attention and look Roomy; love the trunk/backspace Kind of regret getting it Love the night interior lighting
Fantastic Vehicle
Just purchased this car. Dealer allowed us to use it for the weekend. We put 500 miles on it and it drove great. The 2.7 was powerful enough and used regular gas. The fit and finish and overall quality were excellent. Our kids are grown but we can use the space to help them move, etc.
Nice Car Mister
Most of my driving is 600-700 miles at a time. This car is so much fun to drive I wish I had farther to go! Plenty of interior room and the comfort is superior. I have the 2.7L V6 and it has all the power that should be expected from an engine this size. Last trip I got almost 30mpg cruzing at a constant 70 mph. The handling is extremely good.
MY TANK
I LOVE THE BUILD OF THE CAR. THE INTERIOR IS BIG AND ROOMY. THE PASSENGER AREA IS RELAXING, AND THE DRIVE-SMOOTH
Love the Magnum
What a pleasure to drive. This baby just wants to run, and if you let it the fun doubles. Great handling and the ride is superb. After driving a 2001 Intrepid RT driving this is more that double the fun.
Worth the note
PURE JOY, GOBS OF POWER, ROOM FOR WIFE AND KIDS, GETS PLENTY OF LOOKS, GETTING 27 MPG ON STRICT HIGHWAY, LOVE THE FACT THAT IT IS DIFFERENT THAN ANYTHING ELSE ON THE ROAD, THE HEMI IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO ON THIS VEHICLE. ABSOLUTELY WORTH THE MONTHLY NOTE!
Couldn't ask for a better wagon!
I absolutely love this car. When I was looking for a car to trade-in for I wanted something with style that stood out from the rest. I would have to agree that the car is difficult to keep in alignment but for a heavy car the mileage is great. We have three daughters and always have enough room for car seats and all of their stuff. A must is the Electronic Stability Program - it really works great on icy roads.
Dodge has hit a homerun
Yeah it's not a Hemi, but my Magnum has plenty of performance. It handles as if it was a sports car. And I've never owned a new car that commanded ongoing accolades. Magnum is the benchmark auto for station wagons and four door sedans for this decade. I'm 6 feet tall and our friends in the rear seat are not sitting with their knees higher than their head. This is the crossover car of the year
Dodge Magnum
So far, so good. I was looking at the Durango when I noticed the Magnum. Much to my surprise, I got the best of both worlds. The fuel economy of the average car, with the pleaseure, enjoyment & functionality of an SUV.
Go Get One
I love this car. I needed more room, but I didn't want an SUV. I just couldn't bring myself to buy a 4 door sedan. Then I found the Magnum. Do your research, you will be impressed. I want you to know that the SXT with the 3.5 v6, will give you plenty of power and is a blast to drive. I traded in a 2004 Mustang convert. It had a 3.8 v6, it also had 60 LESS horses...
Awesome Vehicle!!!
This vehicle reminds me of when I was a child. My dad had a chop top wagon. That was the main reason I bought this. However, the 340hp HEMI had something to do with it also. I suggest you atleast test this vehicle before you purchase your next.
ESP
A real pleasure to drive, turn the ESP off, place right foot on floor and hold on. It reminds me of the late 60`s. Oh and it can carry a crapload of stuff. The roof line and quarter windows give the car a look that I somehow associated with an old Nomad wagon. One item that I don`t like is that I don`t have headlamps that come on automatically. Overall a great machine.
2005 Dodge Magnum RT
This is the finest, fastest vehicle I have ever owned. The Hemi delivers smooth, rapid acceleration and superior performance in all driving situations. The fuel economy for a Hemi powered vehicle is really amazing. I actually averaged 26.1 MPG on a trip. The only thing I don't like about it is the front end is too low to the ground resulting in the front lower clip hitting curbs sometimes when parking. Overall I would rate it as a 10. A very wise buy for the buyer looking for a great car with all the luxuries of many higher priced luxury cars.
Magnum
Extremely happy with car The performance of the 2.7 with the 3.90 rear end rocks. Love the styling but just didn't need the Hemi. Car seems well thought out & shows a strong Dailmer influence. I bought the basic blacked out no chrome model & installed 22" black wheels. The car was obviously made for these wheels It gives the car a kind of European/retro 70's blackout look. Good comfortable road car with a Detroit Iron feel. To be able to put the grocery getter on the road is a great versatility. I've forgotten how much better a road trip is in a good road car.
WOW
I get 25mph on the road and 20mph in town. This model will be a classic like a '57 Chevy. Styling makes car look smaller than it really is.
SE RWD 2.7L
I think this car is one of the best all around vehicles ever built. The 2.7 engine is a little under power but the rest of the car is perfect, lots of room for driver and passengers, with plenty of room in cargo area for golf clubs etc.
Who the hell needs an SUV
This thing is just a cool car , go with the larger wheel and tire package and get the 5.7L Hemi at whatever cost, you won't be regret it. The Hemi runs as a 4-cylinder on the highway. And it handles excellent, smaller turn radius than you think. The V6's are pretty stout too.
Better than a SUV
Just the leather package and sunroof on this SXT AWD. At 6000 miles reliability has been good. Found random squeaks that will appear for a while then vanish for a month - one was the rear cargo cover when it was extended. It's a great freeway car, speed control even downshifts to keep the speed constant. In town poor visibility can be a problem for backing up, same as a Pacifica I drove. I'm up to 18 mpg in the suburbs driving gently, get 22 hwy. In hindsight, I would have got the protection group, cloth seats, better radio/speakers. This is a very solid, versitile car for active people. I got it despite the styling, but some of you may like it.
Smooth Riding
Easy to handle, quiet ride, visual ability excellent. Roomy inside makes shopping a breeze with high hatchback door up high. Very comfortable seating, for 5 people with large leg room in back seat. Adjustable peddle and seats make it easy for myself at 6ft. to drive and for my 5'3 wife to easily change quickly as she drives 90% of the time. Smooth at turns and brakes are excellent. See what winter will bring.
Feel The Power
I bought my R/T Magnum new after driving the 300 and Charger I liked the magnum the best as far as handling. There is nothing I do not like about this car other than they are not making it after 2008. Shame on you Dodge, you never really advertised this car much as it was that was your fault, all things considered it sold well to begin with. Personally I think you should have redesigned it to offer a third seat, watch how it would sell then Dodge Brothers. I would buy another and I just may try an 08.
Love the Car Hate theTransmission Leaks
Over all I love the look and handling of this car. Plenty of room for the grandkids and all their toys, etc. On the highway gets decent gas mileage however, the intown mileage stinks. The price you pay for the HEMI. Main concern is the transmission leaks and the wheel alignments. We've had it to the dealership twice for both issues and were assured that the problem was fixed; 5 months later we have another transmission leak and it already feels like the front end is out of alignment. (We just purchased new tires before the last alignment)Tires are very expensive for this car and they are already showing significant wear without a lot of miles on them.
