This Dodge Avenger has been so unreliable
I bought my 2014 Dodge Avenger brand new and it has been in the shop on a regular at least twice a year. It is a lemon! I would not buy one if I were you! The Alternator alone was $600.00 with parts and labor. They had to build an entire new Ignition system that was not covered under any warranty so out of pocket another $1000.00!!!! Then the fuel injection stopped firing properly so another out of pocket $700.00! And now I turn the key this morning and nothing ! Battery is good ! Looks like another electrical issue with the ignition system. Totally unreliable car! I had to buy a used Honda just to have something reliable. My little honda has 175,000 miles on it and it is way more reliable than this Dodge Avenger!

Great little brother to the charger
I have owned my car for 2.5 years now and have had minor (typical) issues with it. But by and large, it has been amazing, I’ve been on numerous road trips with it (and gotten amazing gas mileage). It has random quirks, but none that really impact my love for my car. 💯

Better Than The Accord
Mine is the SE V6 model, but there is no option in the drop down for this trim level...Anyway, this is one of the best cars I have owned. The Pentastar V6 seems to be pretty solid and it has plenty of power. For a 6 cylinder I'd say mpg is about average. The transmission seems a little weak, but I also bought it used with 100k miles so it's been through some wear and tear. The trunk is roomy enough and the opening is very wide. The rear seats folds down 60/40 and has a passthrough behind the armrest for skis or 2x4's and whatnot. For being a base model the interior actually feels very nice with all upper dash and door panels finished with soft touch/padded materials. The technology is quite lacking, as it doesn't have factory Bluetooth, but at least it has an aux port for music. The backseat isn't huge by any means, but I fit comfortably at 5'10''. Reason I am comparing to an Accord is because I had a 2015 Accord LX before purchasing this vehicle. In my opinion, the interior is finished to a much higher standard and there are no rattles. Every interior panel in my Accord seemed to rattle over the tiniest bump. I give the Avenger 4 stars because there are some areas that are not the best. Old technology, plain steering feel and major rear blindspots. I definitely recommend getting blindspot mirror attachments. They've saved me multiple times. Overall it is a great car. Nothing special, but definitely gets the job done.

Newby to the Avenger Club
I just purchased a used 2014 Dodge Avenger. I have always been a Chevy guy, but lately I don't think they are putting out the quality of a car like they used to. So far no complaints. I had to learn how to get in and out of it without rolling out onto the ground first. The first thing I do is make an appointment with my mechanic to get all the fluids and filters replaced to give me a starting point on maintenance. I expect to get years of trouble-free miles from this car, unlike some of the other reviews I've read. I may have minor repairs such as a water pump, alternator, or starter. That I can fix and don't mind doing myself.

Great car for the money
I feel like I hit a home-run with this one. 2014 RT Avenger was inexpensive new and I picked it one year used and what a deal. It’s roomy with all the bells and whistles but it’s best quality is it’s powerful, responsive engine. I’ll be keeping this one long after it’s paid off. Florida so no issues with rust so easy 10 to 12 years.
