Great except for tires
I love my Uplander, it has almost 95,000 miles on it in three years. I have had problems with the tires wearing and was told I needed to rotate every 6000 miles (have never done w/any other vehicle I owned). I am on second set of tires and having flat spots even when rotating every 6000-15000 miles. The plastic pieces on the outside have black nicks and look awful (I live in the country w/dirt roads). I have had to bring it in twice in three years and problems were fixed right the first time. I would like better gas mileage, I get 23 MPG. It does need a middle console though, I hate that shelf thing they have.
A fantastic Value
When I bought this vehicle, I was looking for a Buick. But I saw the Uplander just off the truck and I was impressed with the look and price! The Uplander ride is smooth like a quality car, not like a truck. I recently replaced tires and other than routein maintaince, I have had no issues. Lots of cargo room. Seven can ride very comfortably. Uplander is a great value, no doubt!

Never Again
Since it was purchased this spring we have had to replace or repair the air conditioner, brakes, alternator, strut work, body mouldings, and the driver side sliding door was locked shut twice. This is not a vehicle I would purchase again!
Our road test
Just returned from vacation (Ia to NJ) total trip avg mileage 22. Very nice ride kids entertained by DVD's. Power could use a few more ponies but had no problems crossing the Appalacian mountians. Maintained 75 mph on all interstate grades.
It's a keeper
With 3 kids and a mother in law, the Uplander is very functional for us. I think Chevy did a great job, given that this wasn't a new design from the frame up. The interior doesn't even resemble that of the former van, the Venture. The dash has a particularly sophisticated and quality look. The seats are also a huge improvement in the comfort/asthetics department. The exterior only looks like the former model from the back. The front, sides, and wheels are new. It's a combination that comes together well and grows on you. All of our friends really like the look. I think silver is its best color
