When purchasing or leasing a Cruze. Do all your research first , make sure that you can do all your negotiating over the phone and talk to family or friends that own one. First so you can get the feel of the vehicle. I had just leased my new Cruze and i love it very much it is a great car if you are in collage or just want something that will get you to a to b. Other than that Chevy did a great job on the design and it is a great first car.

Ruined engine at 94K miles!!

I owned this vehicle for a year before the engine failed on me. It was a great vehicle while it lasted. Around 92K miles, i noticed my car began to drive poor. It began to shake a bit and my stabilitrak came on every once in a while. I was informed I needed a new fuel injector. I purchased a new one and had cylinder 1 fuel injector replaced. It ran well for about two weeks after that and then the same codes reappeared. Cylinder 1 misfire and stabilitrak. I had this evaluated and come to find out, Chevy has intentionally overinflated the PSI in the cylinders to accommodate the turbocharged engine. At 94K miles, the final diagnosis was a cracked cylinder in cylinder one leaking PSI causing cylinder misfire and violently shaking engine from a direct result of chevy over inflation of the engine. No wonder they cut their power terrain warranty at 60K miles. I tried that too. I am now stuck with a 2017 Chevy Cruze of which I owe 15K dollars on and can no longer operate it. When I contacted Chevy or GM, I was told there was nothing to be done and I was basically SOL. They offered a 10% relief on the repair at about 5K repair. However, they want their own diagnosis and proceed to also inform me that they will charge me $500 for the diagnosis. It is a great car and I miss being able to drive that vehicle however, the reliability of the vehicle is terrible and GM was no help. Would not recommend this vehicle to anyone.

Ex car salesman, I know vehicles! Checked with consumer reports before leasing my 2017 Cruise Of and they gave the 17 great reviews. Had it for 7.5yrs and never had 1 issue. Best car I ever had!
