Worst car I have ever owned.

I've owned plenty of cars in my day, but this one is the absolute worst. I bought one used at Carmax in February of 2019. 2012 LT with about 90,000 miles. I live 2 miles from work and everything else I need to get to is located within 5 miles of my home, so this car was never intended to drive long distances regularly. It was just an in-town car. I think the furthest I drove it was an hour or so away to visit my dad, but that was the furthest I've gone and it was once. This first issue was the airbag sensor. I kept getting a notification on my dash saying it needed to be serviced. Around that same time I had issues with my RPM at idle and the car was periodically shaking pretty bad at stop lights/signs. There were a few occasions where it almost stalled. I called Carmax and I was directed to the actual Chevrolet dealership where they checked and fixed the apparent issues. This was 3-4 months since I had purchased the car initially. The next issue I had was needing to have the alternator completely replaced a month or so later. Then, a few months after that, I went to have my oil changed only to be told that I had a massive oil leak through my valve cover. Again, I took it to a shop and the front mechanics of my car were so saturated in oil that no one could determine where the leak was actually coming from. I literally needed to have it power washed in order for them to look into it further. During this same time I of course had a sickening burning smell coming from both inside and outside of the car. Long story short, the valve cover was replaced and apparently the problem was solved. From the point I got it back from the shop until two weeks later, I still had the sickening burning smell coming from both inside and out. I contacted the shop AGAIN and it was determined that the oil housing unit or something of that sort was broken, so I needed to then have that replaced. STILL, I had a putrid burning smell throughout afterwards. This all happened between February 2019 and January 2020. I had only put 5,000 miles on the car throughout the duration of the time I had it. I wouldn't recommend this car for anyone.

I’m a 19 year old girl who’s had this Vehicle for a little over a year. I’ve had nothing but problems with this vehicle. My oil has problems and all the parts, the drivers window is broken inside the door twice. It’s good on gas but somethings always going wrong with my car and I literally drive it from my house to work or from my house to school. When I bought the car the dealership told me everything was fine and shortly after I’ve had to get many things replaced.

Good Value / Decent Mileage

My '12 Cruze LS gets mileage as advertised. Mileage depends *heavily* on driving style. This weekend I drove the family to Disney and got 40 mpg round trip (EPA = 38 mpg highway). Driving more aggressively, I'd get 34-36 mpg highway. Like any car, numerous factors are at play: More passengers / more gas in tank = lower mpg. Lower temperatures = lower mpg. Air conditioner = lower mpg. More uphill than downhill = lower mpg (I therefore rely more on round trip values). I have even noticed mpg variations depending on the quality of the road. Some of the comments I've read probably don't account for these variables, and the many others, that do affect mpg.

Bought a 2011 Chevy Cruze in June at Daniels Long Chevy and I love the car! It is fun to drive and great gas mileage and for the money you can't find anything nicer that is American made! Best part of it all was my salesman Mike Smith! He made my car buying experience one of the best i have ever had! Thanks to Mike and the Chevy Cruze, i'm a happy camper!

I'm very happy with my Cruze. I have about 13k miles on it, and still feel its a great value. I have driven/owned many types of cars, and I'm still quite impressed with this car for the money. It's my daily driver, and general use car. Since the turbo engine has a broad power band, its very driveable. Its not fast, but responsive enough to make it nice to drive. The engine idles very smoothly too. The cabin is quiet at highway speeds, and the seats are comfortable on long drives. Aside from the armrest, I have not complaints!
