If you like blistering acceleration, road holding grip equal to a full blown race car, an interior fitting to a luxury jet, overall aggressive looks that rival any super car, look no further. Corvette ZO6 Coupe will deliver all this and more. Enjoyed 10,200 miles so far zero issues. It’s addictive to drive and very addictive to drive fast. During very “spirited” driving sessions No overheating of any kind even during peak summer heat waves of 105 degrees and climbing up a steep grade. That issue, if there ever really was one has been resolved. A Torch Red C7 Corvette turns heads where ever you drive. Invites a lot of questions and interest when ever parked or gassing up. If your a shy quiet type I’d suggest a you drive a dull slug Pris. Only one issue since las lt update. AC compressor had a crack and was dripping lubricant. AC was functioning normally. GM covered 80% of the cost of a new AC compressor, even though the warrant had expired two years earlier. Other than is hiccup the Z06 is flawless and actually increasing in value since 2021 due to demand for the last generation of front engine Corvettes and being Supercharged! I have driven C8 Mid Engine Corvettes both the Stingray & Z06 versions…i personally still prefer the traditional front engine rear wheel drive. I like looking over that long muscular hood. I also like the openness of the interior vs the cramped interior of the mid engine.

This is a world class sports car from GM. Finally a Corvette that I wanted to own. Ever since I saw the C7 on the road a few years ago I was struck by the incredible exterior styling. It is a strikingly beautiful car. The only thing I wondered was could it deliver on performance and engineering to compete with Porsche,Audi and the rest? The answer is YES IT CAN! Say what you will about GM using old push-rod technology in the engine bay but this motor just rocks. Power comes on fast and is always there when you want it and there is plenty off it. The 7 speed manual is very good and as smooth as my old Miata. Short throws and positive engagement every shift. The car handles very well. I did not want the tack goodies that the Z51 or Grand Sport provide. I got the Magnetic ride as an option to help button the car down on spirited rides and makes things a bit plusher when cruising through town. This is a do it all sports car. Yes it has a stigma of being an old guys retirement car but this C7 has changed that perception. It is a real world sports car with Super car type performance for a very reasonable price.

Great Sports Car

2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport 2dr Coupe w/1LT (6.2L 8cyl 7M)

Owned the car now for 2 years, it was purchased new. Only trip to the dealership was for the free oil changes. This has been a great car and can easily be your daily driver if you don't see a lot of snow or need seating for more than 2 people. The only real competition is the Porsche Cayman or Boxster. I found even though MSRP's are not that far apart real world pricing is. The Grand Sport's can be bought below MSRP where the Porsche's are alway's 20K more than MSRP. This is due to the high priced options found in the Porsche line up. I bought my Grand Sport for just over $60K could not find a Cayman under $80K. At the end of the day I felt the Porsche is a little better quality car but not worth the price tag especially when you factor in the maintenance. If you're into performance the Corvette will win you over when compared to the Cayman/Boxster. To match it in the Porsche line you will spend double the money and have to move up to a 911. Instead I bought a pick up truck for my neighbors to borrow and haul their stuff.

The Z06 has 650 horsepower that has to be respected. Even with traction control you can fish tail the car, so don't be surprised when you punch the accelerator from a standing start. The car is easy to drive in all conditions with the appropriate driving mode. The front splitter on the ZO6 is low so you'll need to always be mindful of speed bumps in parking lots, parking the car and when entering driveways. This is not a problem as long as you activate the front cameras which is active at low speeds (5mph). I strongly suggest you enroll in the performance driving school at Spring Mountain, NV to learn all about the capabilities of the car. This C7 Corvette is packed with features not found in other high performance cars such as the PerformanceDataRecorder (PDR) that can be used to record your drive with performance data even in valet mode. 7th gear fuel economy is excellent over long stretches of highway driving. No need to place the car in economy mode which reportedly stresses the engine and allows it to automatically deactivate cylinders and switch between V4 and V8. After over two years of trouble free ownership, only scheduled maintenance was required which was covered by the warranty.

My slightly used 2017 C7 Grand Sport is Corvette number 3. My first was 1998 C5 Coupe, second is 2008 C6 Z06 427/505 Wil Cooksey Limited Edition #313. I never thought another Corvette could take my breath away until the delivery door opened and I saw for the first time my 2017 Watkins Glen Gray 3LT, C7 Grand Sport. It was absolute joy for this 72 yr. old BOOMER. Grandest of the Grand Sports and it's mine. One year ownership anniversary March 27, 2021. Enjoy it more every day. My easy escape during pandemic year! Great companion with our '08 Z06. Corvette obsessed for sure!
