Used 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt Consumer Reviews
Petey's Cobalt
I have had very few problems. With the exception of the 5 speed manual transmission. Poorly designed manual transmission. The transmission end rail pin part number 90490900 keeps breaking. The car has left me stranded several times. Once this little pin snaps you have no connection to the transmission. You are either stuck in neutral or one particular gear. Wish I had chosen a 2008 it has a turbo instead of the supercharger and has 60 horsepower more. Back than a superchargers boost could not be varied without changing the pulley system. That has changed in recent years. Back than a manual transmission was the way to go. A 5 or 6 speed manual beat a 4 speed automatic any day of the week.

Awesome
This Cobalt I have is such a dependable, sporty car. Wherever I go, I can't help myself but to put the pedal to the metal with it. It's just awesome.
The most fun car I've ever broken
After owning a 2007 SS Supercharged for over a year, I mostly think happy thoughts. These cars are not known for head gaskets blowing, but I can only write my review based on my own experience. My cobalt has been my favorite car to own so far. The day I bought it (not knowing how to drive manual transmission) I drove it to San Antonio Texas from Kansas. The car had no issues other than the ones I caused! Smooth highway driving. It got just under 30mpg and it had 98k miles when I bought it. By the time it was at 113k (and pushing it hard no doubt) it blew a head gasket in the middle of winter. After bumming rides for 6 months I decided to let it go. Don't let this story scare you away from picking up a used Cobalt though, it'll be well worth your money.

Not satisfied
We bought our Cobalt brand new, with 16 miles on it. Thought it would be a great car but so far it has proved us wrong. We had alot of minor issues within the first 4 months but they were covered under warranty thankfully. Now our back windows don't roll down at all and haven't since shortly after the warranty was up, of course. No idea what the issue is but will not be fixing it. The emergency break never worked. The visor cover broke just lifting it up one day. The back seat is so uncomfortable. I hate when someone has to sit back there because it's worse than sitting in a truck!
