I love my car!
Great car! Great on gas! Low Maintance! We have purchased seven chevy cars & trucks in my household in the last 35 years. we never had a problem with any of our cars! We had a 1984 Cavailer for over ten years before deciding to buy a car.

the 2004 cavalier LS sport coup
I have recently purchaced my second chevy cavalier. I have owned a 4 door 2001 and now a two door 2004. I highly recomend driving this vehicle. This is a dependable vehicle with exceptional performance for a stock car. If you are a serious driver or maybe even just someone who wants dependable and afordable vehicle for a good price. this is the car to buy!
My Car
I bought my new cavalier and I think its the greatest little car I have bought. I really love it,I have had other new cars but, this one takes the cake. it really is sporty and has a lot of get up and go for an economy car.
Computer missing
I got the car, and in less than five weeks my computer had to be replaced. Then after getting the computer back someone rear-ended me. I must say considering the force of impact the car withstood the blow. I'm still waiting to get it back.
Reliable, comfortable and great mpg
I have had my car a little over 4 years and have 116000 miles on it. I only recently had to replace the fan assembly, otherwise only the regular brakes, tires, battery, etc. This has been a very reliable car with great gas mileage. I average about 28-32 mpg but have gotten as much as 38 on long road trips. This is my second Chevy product and I will buy Chevy again, both cars have been wonderful. I would like something bigger but this one is hard to give up.
RoseRetrading
Overall, I am happy with my Cavalier. Fuel economy is excellent and there has been absolutely no problems with the performance of the car. My only dislike is that the windows and mirror adjustments are manual. Would like to go electronic now but for dollar value, this car is excellent.
Way better than my HONDA
After having so MANY PROBLEMS with my 2001 HONDA CIVIC, this is way better. It doesn't break down like the civic. The sales people were nicer and not so arrogant.
Chev. Cavalier 4 dr sedan
For the price 12,500 (dealer promotion) this car is peppy, reliable, comfortable, good gas mileage 30 mpg. auto trans, ABS brakes, power steering, am/fm cd player, clock. Rear seat folds down to extend trunk length. 100,000 mile coolant. Tight ride and steering, not sloppy. No mechanical problems, third one I've owned.
you are loseres
you guys dont know what you are talking about.you are all idiots for bad- mouthing such a great car. me and some of my friends all own one and we all love it.go to car domain.com and look at all of the street models you will see why its such a great car.
i like it
currently i own a 2001 caviler i enjoy driving it. Its been a really good car very dependable. But there is not enough performance parts avalible for the 2001 model. So i was thinking of getting a new 2004 model with the new ecotec engine theres a lot more avalible for them like turbos and after market intake manifolds , exaust systems , header and so forth. But i am looking forward to driving a new one to see what this new engine is a about. From what I've read so far i'm imprest . They made a 750hp engine out of a 4 cylinder without sliping the juice to it and only useing 24psi Luke McKaskle
Chevy Cavalier LS Coupe is Great!
While everyone is running around touting the latest in foreign cars, my personal pick is the Chevy LS Sport Coupe. It's priced right, has wonderful fuel economy (haven't y'all cringed at pump prices lately?) This car handles like a sporty dream, it has a no nonsense interior without ninety- nine gizmos and gagets to fiddle with..has great pick up and can't be beat in city traffic for maneuvering. It's a terrific second car!
My 2004 Cavalier Coupe1
I love my 04 Cavalier. It is quite zippy, stylish, and feels good behind the wheel. I drive it back and fourth to work 35 miles each way and it is perfect for this or any other travel application. It is small enough that it is highly manuverable, yet large enough that I don't feel intimidated. A great car. I'm sure the "Cobalt" will be even better.
Editor must have never driven a cavalier
Obviously the editor never actually drove a Chevy Cavalier. The interior is neither outdated or cheap. The power train has been redesigned to limit engine noise and reduce vibration. And my Cavalier can easily keep up with any car in its class.
Great Car!
I just purchased my 2004 cavalier 08/15/03. I love this car!! I highly suggest the 5 speed transmission as it is way cool and very fun to drive. This car gets great gas mileage and is a true gem to drive!
love the ecotech engine
We got ours in june 2003, we love it, I never have purchased an automatic, until this one, it is great for the money! black with after market rims from the dealer, no ground effects no pin stripes it really is hot looking! and really quick too!
fun to drive
easy to drive in cities, also easy to get around period
rachel's cavalier
it's great, i love it
Very good for the price range
This is a no-frills car that beats the hell out of the cheap makes that you find in this price range. My previous car was a '97 Kia Sephia, and I am already impressed with the build quality, quietness, ride, handling, performance, and standard features. The styling leaves something to be desired -- there are nice features, but the rear-end looks like a Ford Contour. The front-end is a marked improvement over previous Cav. years.
Loving My New Car
The car as a whole is great and I am very satisfied. The car has great pickup and looks really good, especially after it's been waxed out here in the desert sun. My only complaint is rattling I hear coming from the center console during normal driving. Pressing my leg against it while driving helps, but it's not a good solution to the problem.
Dependable
Is really fun and responsive when you have to go. Easy to park. Need the drivers seat a little bit higher for better view.
Love It
Love the sport feeling of the Cavalier. Love the gas milage, and all of the components that come with the LS. Feels and drives like a Cadilac.
sporty cruiser
this is the first new car i have ever had i was so excited with it. I beieve i made a great choice.
all around awesome car
i purchased the cavalier sport coupe in feb of 2003 the night i picked it up it was snowing, it has already proved to be unbeatable in the snow, i love its get up and go attitude its sleek look. there is always someone checking it out and the gas mileage i get is just fantastic just cant beat this ride
Love my Yellow Cav
I love my Cavalier. I wouldn't change a thing about it!!!! It's fast and it looks great too!!
CAVALIER 2
THIS IS REALY ABOUT MY 1992 CAVALIER THAT I BOUGHT NEW 12 YRS AGO I LVED THAT LITTLE RED CAR BUT AFTER 169,000 MILES AND ALL THE GOOD DEALS ON NEW CAVALIERS I DECIDED TO GET A NEW AND IF THIS CAVALIER IS AS DEPENABLE AS MY 92( I HAD ONE MINOR ELECTRIAL PROBLEM IN THE FIRST FEW MONTHS AFTER THAT ALL I DID WAS MAINTANCE(OIL, FILTERS,TIRES,ECT.) NEVER HAD ANY OTHER PROBLEM FOR HER LIFE TIME SHE STILL HAD GET UP AND GO WHEN I TRADED BUT YOU COULD TELL SHE WAS STARTING TO FEAL HER MILES MY NEW LITTLE BLACK BEAUTY HAS BEEN GREAT SO FAR LOVE THE RADIO HATE THE DASH CAN'T USE THE SPACE I HOPE I HAVE 12 MORE GOOD YEARS WITH THIS CAR
2003 cavalier
i love this car
My Purple Baby
Even though I purchased this car in 1998, it has proven to be a very good choice for me....I love my Chevy and it is the first car I have purchased! It officially became my car this year and I would definitely buy a Cavalier again. It's dependable, reliable and I love the comfort I get from driving it in any season!!! I love my Chevy!!! :) Adrienne
cavaliers rock!!!!!
I'm sorry edmunds thinks this is an outdated platform but its a lot better car than my son's focus and my sister's lancer! for the money I love my cavalier and an sorry to see it be the last year for them.
JUNK
I researched this car to death before purchasing a 2004 model in 2005. I read all sorts of positive notes on it, kind of like here. Let me tell you it was the biggest piece of junk I've ever owned! Everytime I turned around there was something wrong with it. Engine light always came on, had problems with the brakes, trunk wouldn't open anymore, headlight quit working, just to name a few. I only put 26,000 miles on it, so it's not like it had a lot on it.
smooth ride
The vehicle that i purchased on nov. 24 in the year of 2003 has been one of the best rides i have ever had the chance to experience. My car glides with the road. Making my ride an ejoyable experience, in which makes me want to drive even more. Its the standard package of this make, but well worth its cost. This time this make of car has lived up to the test.
Cavalier is a great buy!!!
THis car is great in that it is reasonably priced, great gas mileage, sporty (I have a two door), excellent in the snow, and just as nice as any expensive foreign version. The interior is extremely comfortable. It is the perfect car for first time buyers because of all the in-expensive aspects yet it is an amazing ride!
Amazing Car
This car has made amazing mileage. On a trip across SD got 35 miles to the gallon and in normal traffic around 30 miles per gallon. It runs well and the air conditioning is excellent it keeps the entire car cool.
I like my new car dispite Edmonds views
I like this vehicle. The design this year is changed in some ways.It looks sporty for a 4 door sedan. It runs good. One down fall that I have had though is that there is a cable for the heating vent adjuster that has malfuntioned and from what I am told is a recall. Also, I don't care so much for the ETS system on the brakes, that had failed at 9,000 miles. Something snapped??? The car will run just fine without that. To me, it is an $800.00 mistake. I do not regret buying a Chevy Cavalier and will be sad to see it taken off the market next year. I currently own 2 Cavaliers. My other is a 1999.
I was fooled by his car
I buy this car because my Toyota Tercel was stolen, but in comparison with this car, the Cavalier is an incredible gass drinking machine. $20.00 dollars a per week in comparison with $12.00 of the tercel. Also I went with this car to service 3 times, because the rear lights suddenly burns out, and the dealer only tells me that they will keep changing the bulbs since this is a normal behaivor. Not to mention the cheezy, cheapy interiors. I am very dissapointed
C-LooS-E REV
I enjoyed driving my car because it was manual not automatic. This lets me have more control of the car. Never drove the 2004 chev cav (automatic) but willin to try!!!
great for the money
At $10,200 The Cavalier is a bargain.I bought the base model strictly as transportation to work.It came with a 5 speed manual trans,A/C and a cd player as well as P/S,and P/B.What started out as just a work car has become our everything car. It's fun to drive, good on gas and handles like a sports car.It has excellent brakeing and emergency handleing.Someone cut me off and ran me onto a grass shoulder at 65mph last week and the car behaved like a champ.
Value for your money
Execllent vehicle, my previous vehicle was a 1997 Cavalier. Oil changes and replacement of a airconditioner compressor at 110,00 is all I spent on this car over the 6+ years I owned this car. I would like to see Toyota or Honda match that.
A GREAT BUY!
well to be honest i'm a honda person. but my fiance had her eye set on a cavalier ls sports coupe. i'd never been in one but i'm sure glad we bought one. the way it shines with its shiny rims, sunroof and ground effects. i don't get what all the complaints are about the performance and the interior i think its just as nice or better than comparable car's in its class sure you save more gas in a civic but no way a civic can pickup like this car can.
I love My 03 cavalier LS Sport Coupe
I bought this car brand new and I Love everything aboutit. It's reliable, fun to drive, looks good, and gets good gas milage. Great in the snow!
Lots of problems
I bought this car last year and it had 91,000 miles on it. I am close to 100,000 now & had lots of problems. A spring in the clutch system was broken making it impossible to switch gears with the pedal. $1,100 to fix this and the auto-repair guy had never ever seen this happen. Sensors are bad and keep sending check engine messages or check fluids when everything is fine. Now I have another $500 in repairs because the muffler is gone and the transistor that regulates the fan for heat/AC is dead. I could change that myself ($25) but it is impossible to put the blower motor back since it uses special plastic screws. Only an auto- repair shop can do it.
Very much improved!!!
I had a 95 Cavalier coupe. When my parents took me out car shopping for a new car I chose the much improved 2003 LS Coupe with an automatic transmission. I don't know why they say it's not improved because everything from the seats and controls to the engine and transmission including traction control are much better than my (also a first year design) 95 Cavalier. It's much peppier than my 95 and gets great gas mileage, better than rated. I've owned it 6 months and love it! The only problem I've had was it was delivered with a wobbly driver's side power mirror. Why not buy American!
Best low end car I've ever bought
I got the Z24 model, it has a 2.4L engine, larger 16 " wheels and 5 speed transmission. This car is very responsive, I like 3rd gear the best! I bought it to go to/from work... but I've taken it on long road trips and was very surprised at the great ride!
great car
powerful and fun to drive
Cavalier
Concur with the editor review in so far as the interiors. The inside fabric is very cheap! I have seen better fabric being sold as seat covers. However, we get what we pay for. With the average price of a car $26K, the Cavalier delivers a punch for its price.
Great Car for the Price!
For the price, I don't think you can do better. Got mine when the $4000 rebate was on - great buy!
best for the buck
its the best for the buck, fun to drive, clean lines.
the best car
the car is great except a little laggy on the automatic trans. but besides that everything is average or above in my book i dont know what the editor's problem is!!!!!
