Well Improved!
I have owned a 93,96,98,99 and 2001 Cavalier Z24's and by far this 2004 is the best! Very much improved!Faster smoother engine and sportier handling. Gas milage great, 28 and 29 combined city/hwy. Brakes improved, workmanship improved.Low wind noise, richer paint finish, even has solar ray glass, others had cheaper glass. A lot for the money! Forget Honda and Toyokey! My nephew has a civic and has nothing but trouble with it.Plus they smell like sulfur!Plus they are 1 and 2 the most stolen cars.
Bought in 2005
Bought this car for my daughter in late 2005. She went on to something else in 2006 so I've driven this car since then. No problems. This is a bottom end car for Chevrolet and I expected more issues. I see others that are beat to death but still run so I expect mine to run for a long time. This car will put a 6 cylinder older Mustang down without breaking a sweat and still get 25-26 mpg!
Love My Chevy!
I love my car! I have never had any major issues with this car. I get my oil changed as recommended, new tires, breaks things like that. It's sporty, and I think it's fun to drive. It's got a great stock stereo system.
It's a good car for the money
I've had my 2004 STD COUPE for a little over a year now and I have had no problems with it whatsoever. I have the sport appearance package and I suggest that upgrade; it makes a lot of difference for a little bit of money. This car is surprisingly smooth at fast highway speed (I'm talking 90+ mph). It cruises easily at that pace and obviously even better at normal 70-75 mph. The handling is wonderful and makes it a joy to drive.
My Love
this is the second one I have owned it has much better pick-up and the gas milage is great. it is also alot more comfortable. I love my stereo also. Great car for the price
So far so good.
My car is cute, incredibly peppy, and so fun to drive (5 speed) that I was laughing with delight on its test drive.
Loving My New Car
The car as a whole is great and I am very satisfied. The car has great pickup and looks really good, especially after it's been waxed out here in the desert sun. My only complaint is rattling I hear coming from the center console during normal driving. Pressing my leg against it while driving helps, but it's not a good solution to the problem.
Love It
Love the sport feeling of the Cavalier. Love the gas milage, and all of the components that come with the LS. Feels and drives like a Cadilac.
Chevolet Cavalier
I've had my 2003 cavalier since Jan., and it is very fun to drive, horsepower is good, sound system is excellent, and it has very good power steering-it's more like a sports car to me without the speed. I have a red, 2-door coupe, which turns a lot of heads when i drive by! I give my car a 9 1/2 overall!
My Purple Baby
Even though I purchased this car in 1998, it has proven to be a very good choice for me....I love my Chevy and it is the first car I have purchased! It officially became my car this year and I would definitely buy a Cavalier again. It's dependable, reliable and I love the comfort I get from driving it in any season!!! I love my Chevy!!! :) Adrienne
You Will Love This Car!
Despite what the experts say, this car is a beauty to drive! I have currently a 1993 Cavalier and had a 1997, my new 2004 has as much pep as my 1993 and upgraded on the 1997. The Ecotec engine is smooth and surprisingly powerful and doens't sound like it's straining when you step on the accelerator. The transmission shifts effortlessly and doesn't have the "spongey" feel like on the 1997 model. The brakes are firm and need little effort for braking. Plus it handles amazingly well and is very nimble on the highway not to mention the nice fuel economy especially with the oil companies inflated rates. In short I LOVE THIS CAR!!!!
Cavalier is a great buy!!!
THis car is great in that it is reasonably priced, great gas mileage, sporty (I have a two door), excellent in the snow, and just as nice as any expensive foreign version. The interior is extremely comfortable. It is the perfect car for first time buyers because of all the in-expensive aspects yet it is an amazing ride!
FUN!
Fun to drive, good pep and decent handling. Interior could use a little more headroom and overall space. Paid $9800. after a little negotiation. Great value for first car. Very happry with buying experience at Steakley, no games.
my cavalier
I GOT A CAVALIER BECAUSE THEY LOOK GOOD AND THE PRICE IS NICE..WHAT I DIDNT KNOW WAS THEY HAVE HIGH INSURANCE AND IF U HIT SOMETHING (A DEER) U USUALLY TOTAL IT....BUT MY CAR RUNS REALLY GOOD AND HANDELS REALLY NICE JUST BE CAREFULL!!
C-LooS-E REV
I enjoyed driving my car because it was manual not automatic. This lets me have more control of the car. Never drove the 2004 chev cav (automatic) but willin to try!!!
Value for your money
Execllent vehicle, my previous vehicle was a 1997 Cavalier. Oil changes and replacement of a airconditioner compressor at 110,00 is all I spent on this car over the 6+ years I owned this car. I would like to see Toyota or Honda match that.
I love My 03 cavalier LS Sport Coupe
I bought this car brand new and I Love everything aboutit. It's reliable, fun to drive, looks good, and gets good gas milage. Great in the snow!
Best car I have ever owned
I love my cavalier it amazes me how i can drive around town all day and use almost no gas. I am amazed by all the power I am getting out of the little ecotech 4 banger. my cavalier is mostly stock (no engine mods) I have a AEM cold air intake and a GReddy evo 2 exhaust and i can lay rubber in first shift to second and lay some more and get 30+mpg on the ride home, hard to do without switching cars. I don't know how well the car handles stock because mine was dropped probably 3 in before i got it but it handles like a race car i can turn a corner doing 30 in town:) i bought it and drove it back to KS from MO couple hours and was comfortable the whole way
best car in the world
Its great no doubt about it its a great buy
Nice little car
I purchased this car in Feb. 04, primarily for a commuter car. So far it has been very reliable. It just has a likeability. Also the $4,000 rebate GM was offering at that time influenced my decision to purchase. Our other car is a 2000 Honda Civic that my wife drives. It's also a great little car, but I prefer to drive the Chevy.
loving the 04 cavailer
i LOVE the new cavalier! it makes 4- sedan fun and practical for young families. and the pick up is incredible.
Amazing Car
This car has made amazing mileage. On a trip across SD got 35 miles to the gallon and in normal traffic around 30 miles per gallon. It runs well and the air conditioning is excellent it keeps the entire car cool.
The only type of vehicle that I will eve
The cavalier in general are one of the most reliable cars I have ever seen. I owned a 95 2dr coupe that never broke down for 2 years. Then I traded it in for the new one. I absolutely love cavalier's and feel that it would be a mistake to discontinue production on this vehicle.
Chevy Makes great Engines
I am quite impressed with this 03 chevy cavalier. I used to drive a toyota corolla, 93, which was quite reliable but had many electrical problems, and started to eat up oil at 100k of its life. We have had many chevys into the 300k's and havnt ever felt the need to check the oil. First things first, this cavalier is fast (for its class and price) especially if you get the standard tranny. Nothing feels cheap about the interior or exterior and the car is very attractive. With dealer incentives off the msrp right now you cant go wrong. Stock stereo is great, although i got the highest package. Quick accel., 30mpg, great handling.
Cavavlier's Rock!
Really cool car to drive.
Reliable but ugly
This was my first car, I got it used. I like it a lot, but the interior is made of cheap plastic and is extremely flimsy and the springs in the seats popped out of the back of the seat. Driving the car is comfortable, but riding in it is EXTREMELY uncomfortable. There is virtually no legroom in the back, and the passenger seat in the front is weird, it feel like your being squeezed. As for the exterior, the design was dated way before it came out. It basically looks like a crappy four door version of a 90s mustang. Performance is good, no complaints there, so the only thing is the interior and exterior.
The Best!
I've owned a 97 Cavalier, a 00 Cavalier, and now I just bought a brand new Cavalier. I love them. They are the funnest cars to drive, and great on gas. If I had to do it all over I would. I am a proud Chevrolet girl, I work for a Chevrolet dealership. I've owned other brands of vehicles. Dodge Colt, Suzuki Samari, VW, and a Plymouth. I've had my 84 Camaro and the three Cavaliers I mentioned, I don't think I would go to any other vehicle.
CAV.
THIS CAR IS A GOOD CAR BUT THERE IS SOMETHING THAT NEED TO BE DONE, LIKE BETTER COMFORT,AND BETTER SPEAKERS. BUT THIS CAR HOLD GA FOR A LITTLE BETTER THAT ANY OTHER NEW CAR I HAVE RIDEN IN. THIS CAR NEEDS BETTER TAKE OFF POWER.
HUH
I'd have to disagree with your review on the cavalier it has been a great car both economicly and when taking to the curves on the weekends.
It's a great car
We were looking for something small with good gas mileage, and most of all comfort. also a large trunk area. With the back seat going down we got that. We found everything and more that we were looking for in the Cavalier. I think it is the best kept secret in the Chevy line.
tanjim750
I have driven foreign cars and they do not compare with the cavalier.
My new car
I love my new car. I am always getting coplements on it. It is the perfect size and it has that sporty look to it. It is great for a starter car. Not something I'll want forever though.
Good Value For The Cost
The 04 Cavalier is a good value if you stick with the base models. There is no point in loading it up. It's reliable, and somewhat sporty, but the handling is a bit loose.
My cavi
This is my first manual and I love it! It handle really well; good tight stering. It also has done excellently in the rain and bad weather. I sugest it to anyone who want a fun, safe, reliable car that is cost friendly.
Fun Little Car
I owned a 2000 Cavalier and after looking at other options decided to buy another Cavalier, I was also given some heafty discounts and rebates my car payment is lower, Insurance the same and this time I bought every option I could including Power Windows, XM radio and lots of gingerbread The Car is WONDERFUL, more zip, better handling but the major factor I bought this car is I have the BEST service guys at my Dealer anyone could ask for.
The best cheap car?
The extra 20 horsepower offered by the Ecotec in 2003's and later makes all the difference in the fun to drive department. Mine gets better than its 33 mpg highway rating too. Transmission shifts better than anything Japanese that is comparable in price. The others are right: Toyota and Honda are overrated. Very quiet at speed, great fun with the XM satellite radio, which by the way works all the way into Canada.
nice car
The car would be more fun to drive if it could speed up faster. Itwould be better all arount if it could top out at a higher top speed, around 130 like my other car (Ford Contour).
my second hwy trotter
my second one the first 1 gave me 190000 miles with no repairs oh yes a water pump condidering that i drive 40000 miles a year the cav is mrs old reliable and not a money pit either excellent superb in snow to roomy spacious enoiugh even 4 a big guy rar to in my 4 doors good heating sys decent satero good instruments to improve...... seats and larger brakes and all 4 disks please
Nice little car for the money
We bought the car,an LS sedan, in March 2004 for $12K. GM had $4k in factory rebates, and the dealer discounted as well. We purchased for primarily as a commuter car, but like it so well, we have taken it on trips and vacation. So far very reliable. Love the strong Ecotec engine, and smooth shifting automatic. If the car continues to do well, I'm back in the GM family. Only complaints are minor: like the lousy design of the cup holders blocking HVAC controls. Seats could be more supportive. Other than that. Very satisfied with the car.
2004 Cavalier Coupe
This vehicle may have been engineered years ago, but it still has tons of bang for the buck!!
Awsome cars
I'll by a cavalier untill the day that i die.
the 2004 cavalier LS sport coup
I have recently purchaced my second chevy cavalier. I have owned a 4 door 2001 and now a two door 2004. I highly recomend driving this vehicle. This is a dependable vehicle with exceptional performance for a stock car. If you are a serious driver or maybe even just someone who wants dependable and afordable vehicle for a good price. this is the car to buy!
Reliable, comfortable and great mpg
I have had my car a little over 4 years and have 116000 miles on it. I only recently had to replace the fan assembly, otherwise only the regular brakes, tires, battery, etc. This has been a very reliable car with great gas mileage. I average about 28-32 mpg but have gotten as much as 38 on long road trips. This is my second Chevy product and I will buy Chevy again, both cars have been wonderful. I would like something bigger but this one is hard to give up.
RoseRetrading
Overall, I am happy with my Cavalier. Fuel economy is excellent and there has been absolutely no problems with the performance of the car. My only dislike is that the windows and mirror adjustments are manual. Would like to go electronic now but for dollar value, this car is excellent.
Way better than my HONDA
After having so MANY PROBLEMS with my 2001 HONDA CIVIC, this is way better. It doesn't break down like the civic. The sales people were nicer and not so arrogant.
Chev. Cavalier 4 dr sedan
For the price 12,500 (dealer promotion) this car is peppy, reliable, comfortable, good gas mileage 30 mpg. auto trans, ABS brakes, power steering, am/fm cd player, clock. Rear seat folds down to extend trunk length. 100,000 mile coolant. Tight ride and steering, not sloppy. No mechanical problems, third one I've owned.
Chevy Cavalier LS Coupe is Great!
While everyone is running around touting the latest in foreign cars, my personal pick is the Chevy LS Sport Coupe. It's priced right, has wonderful fuel economy (haven't y'all cringed at pump prices lately?) This car handles like a sporty dream, it has a no nonsense interior without ninety- nine gizmos and gagets to fiddle with..has great pick up and can't be beat in city traffic for maneuvering. It's a terrific second car!
Great Car!
I just purchased my 2004 cavalier 08/15/03. I love this car!! I highly suggest the 5 speed transmission as it is way cool and very fun to drive. This car gets great gas mileage and is a true gem to drive!
