2025 Cadillac XT4 Consumer Reviews

Move over Porsche Macan S
I am a car enthusiast. I have driven sports cars from BMW, Mercedes and Porsche and was shocked at the XT4. The professional reviews DO NOT give the XT4 justice. The engine turbo is perfectly paired to the throttle response so that the XT4 feels MUCH faster and responsive than a Porsche Macan S . How do I know? I test drove both cars and was shocked at Porsche Macan S lack of boost, weak throttle response, and cramped interior. Also, the gas mileage on the XT4 approaches 29 highway thanks to the 4 cylinders sipping the fuel. The standard options on the Sport Model just crush the other manufacturers. Hands free access to the lift gate with your foot swiping under the tailgate. The engine IS quiet. There is little to no road noise at highway speeds. Makes me wonder how the XT4 is not getting the true reviews it deserves. Take it from a Porsche, Mercedes and BMW OWNER…This 2023 Cadillac XT4 Sport is UNDER RATED . Interestingly enough… look how many owners give it 5 stars compared to the “professional car enthusiasts”. My advice, ask for a weekend long test drive of the XT4 and put it against others for performance, room, fuel mileage, safety, and modern conveniences. It packs a punch and you will come away asking your self the same question….”who is paying these reviewers to write these articles…..must be getting paid in Euro’s” Cadillac for the WIN

Great car!
I leased a Base model XT4 in August 2022. The car has definitely lived up to my expectations. I was looking for a long time and test drove a lot of different cars. I think Edmunds is correct with their review, however I think the rating should be higher. The car is much roomier than comparable BMW and Audi and I really like the exterior look. The German cars drive better and have better response, but the XT4 is no slouch. The car excelerates nicely and is comfortable at high speeds. The engine does get a little loud when excelerating, but nothing that terrible. The XT4 is bigger than comparable and is ok on gas (22mpg). I got leather interior which is very nice. The info system is simple but efficient. I was looking for the best price so not a lot of bells and whistles on mine. Not happy with no blind spot assist and the impact / crash alert system is wonky at best.

Don’t know why all the bad publicity on XT4
There is no road noise or engine noise. You are my sledding people. I guess that goes along with you can’t believe what you read on the internet. Just bought one to say and test drove it over rough road. Then I bought it. More internet BS.

The best car I have ever owned.
Literally I am IN LOVE with this car. I custom ordered my car, which meant I waited 6 months for it. I even totaled my car only a month after I placed my order, meaning my husband and I had to share a car for 5 months and it was all worth it to have this car. I literally have owned it for 8 months and still get excited walking out to it in the parking lot. From the outside, the car is sleek, and sporty, but packs a bunch with the ample space in the interior. There is not a thing I have not been able to fit in the trunk, meaning this car is great for all your needs. There is enough room in the backseat that adults don't feel squished, and the overall interior design is just flawless. The whole car is gorgeous TOP TO BOTTOM.

Maintenance disaster
I special ordered an XT4 in May 2022. Took delivery in mid-August. I love the car itself. It is everything I wanted. However, 2 months later, the car mysteriously switched into park while I was at a stoplight, and the check engine light came on. 24 hours later, the dealership informed me that a manufacturing defect had caused transmission fluid to leak into the transmission itself, ruining it. The transmission now needs to be entirely replaced, and the parts are back ordered for 3 months. So, my brand new car now will be gone for longer than I’ve owned it and I’m driving a loaner. Thanks alot.

Very poor transmission
Clunky and jerky transmission when vehicle shifts through the lower gears when decelerating. Happens every time you take it out on the road. Dealer says its operating as designed. I regret buying this car.

Shake, rattle and roll
Love the look of the XT4, handles OK, nice finishes, lots of nice features, OK power but holy crap when you drive on uneven pavement or over railway tracks, it will rattle your teeth and I have to look back to see if I left the wheels behind. Just awful suspension on uneven roads which is OK for a truck but a Cadillac????????

Love it! I liked the Caddy more than the Euro SUVs
color=Deep sea metallic I upgraded from a 2014 Toyota Highlander to a 2024 Cadillac XT4 (the 2024 highlander drove the same as the 2014 Toyota highlander and had the same old chassis and interior so I wanted something different this time). The Cadillac XT4 has no turbo lag that I can feel. Every other car that I test drove had turbo lag, whether short or long...Mercedes GLC300 (least turbo lag), BMW X3 (a little more turbo lag), Porsche Macan S (even more turbo lag), Honda (way too much turbo lag). Cadillac's torque kicks on early at 1500 rpm producing 258 lbs. PRO: - Distinctive Cadillac vertical lights in front and rear reminiscent of 1950s Cadillac fins - Lighted Cadillac logo behind the dashboard is reminiscent of the lighted Apple logo on Macbooks - Excellent reliability (no hybrid complexity to break) - BIG curved 33 in screen - Wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto - 74 in car width is spacious, and the widescreen makes it feel even more spacious - stops 60-0 in 109 ft is sport sedan territory - 0-60 in 7 seconds - Remote start to cool or heat the interior before getting inside - Auto brake assist frontal and backing up - Safer driving with physical buttons/knobs for climate control, windows, entertainment system, cruise control. - Standard blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert - Feels agile because it weighs under 4k pounds for an SUV - Long warranty and free 1st service - No range anxiety like an EV, no hassle of plugging/unplugging daily like an EV The Cadillac has these features that Youtubers miss: - Lighted logo behind the dashboard - Pulsating safety seat (most cars only beep) - Left behind child in the rear seat alert - Capless fuel tank (like my 2017 Corvette C7 ) - Umbrella storage in the doors (like Rolls Royce) - Active noise cancellation (like my 2017 Corvette C7 with Bose) - Power passenger seat with lumbar - Free 5G hotspot - Auto engine stop/start is the smoothest I’ve ever experienced that I don't even notice it. - The rear wiper on the liftgate is mounted on top of the glass for a clean look and is very easy to clean the window without getting snagged by the wipers if they were mounted at the bottom of the window like most SUVs. CON: - No spare tire and toolkit, it's a $350 option My video: https://youtu.be/ehsMYDQQHHU

2024 XT4 Sport problems
I purchased this car in August 2023 and a week later, I heard a big pop in the car and my radio went out took it to the dealership and found out that the amplifier went out and that is back-ordered and they do not know when it is going to be made, this is a shame on a Cadillac well know company been around for years. I am so dissatified with this car and now , I had to take it back to the dealership because they did a temporary fix to get the radio to work and now the radio goes out off and on for 2-4 hrs, this car has been in the shop more than I had it and still got to make these payments. I call Cadillac all I get from them I am sorry and thats its. I have tried to talk to Cadillac many times I wish that I had kept my 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz, but I have lost faith in Cadillac. I just wanted people to know and then I had to take it back because the front-end braking stopped the car on it while I was on the interstate and nothing was not in front of me, it almost caused someone to rear-end me. I called cadillac and the dealership, the dealership could not find anything and the Cadillac main office seemed like they were unconcern.

Disappointing
My 2019 XT4 was great, which is why I looked into my current XT4. I am disappointed in this car's performance. It is sloppy, and it seems to have several computer issues, in addition to SEVERAL rattles in the dash. I wish I had my old car back. The car's rattles grew to very loud humming. I returned the car after having taken it back to the dealership four times with multiple problems. I had a bad experience with this model and year, sadly. I really miss my 2019 XT4.
Not my previous Cadillac
My 2024 Xt4 is a disappointment. The on star didn’t work on delivery and took a month before it and maps worked. The new cluster is ridiculous as when you put maps on it obliterates the speedometer. Due to the cluster size GM moved the ac outlets so it blows directly into your kidneys or stomach depending on your height. At 6 ft tall with the driver seat at the lowest setting When looking in the rear view mirror I can only see the top of the back seat. The road noise is deafening on the highway.
caddy man
price not too bad. ride ok and noise from turbo is bad. 800 miles on 2023 xt4 , need to trade in already

Unnecessary emergency braking!
So we purchased a 2024 Xt4 premium luxury with the 2.0 turbo all the bells and whistles. Well let's start by saying, we are getting rid of this car ASAP it has 900 miles and we've owned it now for 4 months and the car has slammed on the brakes now 3 times all by itself. Twice just driving down our home street and once out on the open road. Literally slamming on the brakes trowing anything and everything to the front and if I didn't have my seat belt on, I would hit the windshield. We will not put our grand babies in this car ever. The real kick in the face, is the depreciation that we have now to deal with. The car has lost 20k in value in 4 months and 900 miles. Just ridiculous. We will never buy another Cadillac.

Fun, easy driving
Great little tweener, Not a sub, not a compact, just right sized. Active suspension is a must on 18in wheels, just a great drive. Had a 2019 regular suspension, this is like driving a different auto. New designed exterior adds nice touches of style. Interior is a fantastic upgrade.

Micky Question remark
OK, brand new XT4 list over 42,000 in May 2024. Tuff ride, stiffy, hard, noisy road and tires, Not quite and peaceful ,underperforms. This is 2024 what happened to the Cadillac ride simply terrible.and for a price over 42,000. No excuse they messed up. Bare cosmetics outside, and cheap looking trim, no class at all. Someone should be fired. Tech stuff is what its all about, thats it. Very disappointed with the noise and crappy ride. Lower level cars ride better and are quieter. Paint prices are ridiculous cost. They simply dont care. Chrome is replaced with black plastic and silver paint cheap stuff. The view to see is good. The vehicle height is good. Car weighs to much handles bumps terrible. Discount are minimum so are choices. Never again for caddy you lost me.

Crash prevention and no available parts
First, Don’t buy a new car; you can’t get parts. We bought an xt4 for my 16 year old thinking it would brake before she hit something or someone. We she was parked in our drive and accidentally hit the gas hard instead of the break, it rammed the cement wall. Never even tried to brake. They come up with all the reasons for this, but if it doesn’t protect you from driving through a store front window, what good is it. An idiot designed this. And to make matters worse, you can’t get parts. So don’t buy anything within 3 years of a 2023. And don’t believe all the safety hype either. They aren’t telling you the whole story.

To many repairs!
Within 20,000 kms, we needed multiple repairs. Total transmissions repair (took close to four weeks for GM to supply parts), fuel pump multiple minor issues. We will not keep this car outside of warranty as we have no trust in the quality of the parts. This was our first time buying GM after Subaru and Acura. We’d give 2 stars when compared to those vehicles.

For a Cadillac..... it still has a long way to go.
The transformation of a Chevy Equinox to a luxury Cadillac is very successful EXCEPT for the software. The software is a nightmare. Very user UNFRIENDLY. It attempts to integrate driver, car and cell phone. So every time a different driver comes in the car, the programing collapses. The seat position, I program the memory almost EVERY DAY. and still, goes wrong.

Love this SUV!!
buy it is questionable
Beautiful in and out But ride is not up to par. Always drove a Toyota Sienna and they are much better all around. Ride - room - seats. If to do over would have probably went back to one. bought this one because of color and milage 2022 with just 3000 miles.

Luxury Ride and Features at Great Price
Super quiet ride and comfortable luxury interior features. Quiet engine with torque you can feel with the turbo. Smooth ride over all types of roads with the 18 inch tires. Gobs of safety and driver assist features. Great price point as a used vehicle in 2025. Really enjoying this vehicle and happy with the overall ride, quality, and build.

Comfort and
I absolutely love my Cadillac XT4! It’s the perfect combination of luxury, comfort, and performance. The ride is smooth and the interior feels high-end without being over the top. The technology is easy to use — I especially appreciate the intuitive infotainment system and all the driver-assist features that make every drive feel safer and more enjoyable. It’s stylish, compact enough for city driving, but still spacious and versatile for longer trips. Couldn’t be happier with my XT4 — definitely a standout in its class!

Second XT4
Had a 2019 xt4 Premium Luxury with many options including 20 inch wheels. I bought it new after the 20’s came out, saving a bundle. The car was very reliable, comfortable, and handled nicely. Gas milage, with cylinder deactivation, was terrific! Fall of 2024, time to look around, which we did before heading back to the Cadillac dealer. They gave us a sweet deal on a 2025 Premium Luxury with basically the same options, but not the 20 inch wheels. The new dash with surround view and google GPS are great. The gas mileage is still there. Handling just as good. It rides better and quieter, and the engine seems smoother. All round, a better car in the same package. The ability to control the drive wheels helps in Canadian winters. Have recently heard that the XT4 will soon be history. That will be a shame.

I just don't know
I rented a brand new 2025 XT4 at LAX 2 weeks ago and I was impressed with the look and the finish was nice. Fuel economy and performance were decent. My issue was a rattle in the front end coming from the passenger side. I was first to drive the car (15 miles)according to Enterprise so someone at the plant in Kansas City didn't do their job to ensure everything was tight. The model is now discontinued by GM January 2025
High quality exterior and interior
The xt4 sport 2025 handles amazing. Have a blue with white leather interior. Have received nothing but amazing compliments on the appearance. Handles great and smooth ride. Every upgrade you could need and it is quiet just like other Cadillacs I test drove.
