Bugs bugs and more bugs
I have owned a Lyriq for four weeks.(3/23 delivery) Radio stopped working (fixed) Driver assist system does not work Front and rear cameras do not work Super cruise does not work Right rear turn signal does not work. Download patches from Cadillac to dealers in Phoenix, do not work. (I have spoken to two dealers) To boot, I called Cadillac’s evconcierge line and was transferred to five different people and was disconnected twice. A rep said their phone systems are having glitches. If they don’t have a phone system that works how will they ever get a ev to work. Very disappointed.

WHY?
SuperCruise download opens Pandoras Box of issues. The Lyriq we took delivery of us has been in the service bay for six straight weeks now as of 7/13/2023. Cadillac is in serious trouble. UPDATE: This is a final review in the continuing nightmare that has been the cash purchase of a 2023 Lyriq. The vehicle has been in the service bay at Coulter Cadillac in Phoenix since May 31st. Today is August 21st. The final response from Cadillac in our attempt to get them to repair all the faulty technology is "We have done all we can do. Either come and pick up your vehicle or we will start charging you storage fees". DO NOT make the mistake of purchasing a Cadillac Lyriq folks. I have never experienced such a nightmare with any vehicle in my 40 plus years of owning vehicles. As what is definitely the final addition to my review, we are scheduled to pick up our Lyriq from the second Cadillac dealership we took the vehicle to. Thus, the vehicle was dropped of on May 31st and we will 'hopefully' finally have the vehicle returned to us on September 22nd. Obviously, the Phoenix dealership is completely incompetent and we are hopeful, due to the daily updates received from the Scottsdale dealership, that we will actually have a functioning Lyriq. I would suggest not rolling the dice and purchasing this vehicle. The Cadillac dealerships obviously are unable to service the Lyriq and it has so very many glitches. I will not follow up on this review no matter what we are returned tomorrow. It will either be hiring an attorney and pursuing the 'Lemon Law' or we will sell the vehicle, as any future issues will be more utter nightmares to have serviced. While I swore not to add to my review, I can't help but share that to date (October 26th) our Lyriq is STILL being 'serviced'. It is absolutely shocking that Cadillac put such a vehicle on the market and expected it to be the future of their brand. I have never experienced such a nightmare with any vehicle in the 40 plus years I have been purchasing vehicles. Cadillac should be ashamed that they have made no effort to buy back us this obvious lemon of a vehicle. I would advise all potential Lyriq buyers to look elsewhere for an electric SUV. This vehicle is not the answer to any electric alternative. If we do not look for a legal remedy to this, I would imagine Cadillac would still be attempting to correct all the faulty technology in this disaster of a vehicle.

Loved it for three weeks
After three weeks and three hundred miles I walk into my garage to find my Lyriq was completely drained of energy. It drained itself from 180 miles to 24 overnight while parked in the garage. It will not charge and finally completely died after four hours to the point where I had to manually enter the vehicle through the tailgate. If that wasn't enough once I finally got it to Rizza Cadillac in Orland Park where I purchased the vehicle, they did not have a loaner available. I thought it was Cadillac policy to have a Lyriq available as a loaner. I'm feel like I purchased a Chevy or Buick and not a Cadillac. I received much better treatment service wise from the Lincoln. Maybe I made a mistake when I switched.

WORST CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED
Do not buy a Lyriq! Clearly this vehicle did NOT undergo proper field testing prior to rushing it off the assembly line. Shame on GM Cadillac for not doing basic safety and quality checks. My car has been in shop or on a flatbed more often than I have had the (dis)pleasure of driving it. I have only owned it for 4 months. Innumerable safety issues: drive function, collision warnings, poor visibility, whiplash inducing sudden braking when there is no obstacle, cameras that don’t work and more. 12 volt battery that controls the information screens failed and vehicle towed to dealer where it languished for a month. Now back at dealer via flatbed because of a drive mode malfunction warning. ONSTAR admonished me that vehicle unsafe to drive due to that warning. I was NOT offered a loaner either time. Dangerous to drive due to distractions related to information screens cumbersome and not intuitive. Way too many swipes needed to access basic functions such as preferred audio. Phone charger slot in center console does not work. Sound system is very poor, certainly not what one would expect from a luxury vehicle. Cannot get surround sound to operate. Headlights very poor visibility on low beams. Liftgate fails to operate. Trip planning software inadequate. Does not overlay route with EV charging stations along the way. No snow tires available for this car. Tire pressure sensors don’t work or is that tires losing air? Cadillac does not know! Don’t hold your breath if want to take advantage of EV charging station install via GM partnership with Q Merit. I live in a rural area and Q Merit has not established electrician network for rural customers. 4 months since car purchased and I still do not have the GM promised charger installation. To add further insult, I have been assigned to “Executive Team” (ET) to help resolve issues outlined above and many more that I have not included in this potential Lyriq owner warning. ET role is to delay, placate, obfuscate, deflect blame and take ZERO responsibility for the failures of GM Cadillac and my car specifically. Even with many of my issues making the car unsafe to drive, GM hides behind legal shield and clearly has no intention of fixing unless forced to by National Highway & Transportation Safety & Traffic Administration. ET a rep stated this. Where is ethical business practice? Another insult is that my car was specifically ordered with the factory installed 2” trailer receiver hitch. Lo and behold, that item is missing! GM denies any responsibility even though car rolled off their assembly line and sticker stated hitch included. GM blames the dealer. Dealer blames GM. I, as the car owner, am the monkey in the middle and they refuse to make it right even though ET has admitted that I am not in the wrong. Bad business practices at GM. ET rep refuses to put anything in writing to me. States that GM policy is that NOTHING is ever put in writing to a customer and all done via phone calls. Will not answer emails. Will only discuss my case on a recorded line. I asked if I could access the case details and was told only if I made a request via an attorney! I cannot get details of my case from GM unless they are legally compelled to provide my case documents and the recordings of my phone calls with GM. This puts customer at a distinct disadvantage. I could go on, but you get the picture. 4 months in and nothing resolved nor do I have hopes that it will be. If reaches point that I want to return the car, I was told that they would refuse to buy it back! So, I am stuck. Sure hope that at some point GM will get a moral compass and does the right thing. Stay tuned.

Love our Lyriq
Due to the high demand for the car, we bought the car sight unseen from an out of state dealer. Our test drive was the 7 hour drive home and we weren’t disappointed. It is probably the most comfortable car we’ve ridden in. With the size and weight driving it reminded me of my first car, a ‘70 Buick Electra without all of the body roll. Our range anxiety diminished once we were able to find working chargers fairly easy. However, the 4th day of ownership the dash changed solid blue and purple. This required a tow to the dealership for repairs. Two days later it was back in my possession. Initially the car was losing 13 miles of range each day just sitting in the garage. The fix for the dash apparently fixed that as now I just lose 1 mile a day powering internal systems. This is much more acceptable. The fit and finish is pretty good but I expect better from the GM premier brand. The drivers door is not flush with the body as the passenger door is. There are also scratches in the plastic bits on the back side of the vehicle. Overall, I’m happy with my purchase. With all of the issues getting the Lyriq to market, I went into this purchase expecting less than perfection and that’s what I got. With having the first Lyric in my area, government rebate and thousands of savings over a ‘24, I’m content with the issues. That is as long as they don’t continue too long. Favorite things on the Lyriq: Comfortable Seats; Soft Ride, even with the ‘22s; Safety Tech; AKG Sound System; Decent Range; Plenty of room for my wife and I and the Goldens. 🐕🐕; Annoying Gawkers 😄

Too many problems
Had for less than 150 miles and it had to be towed. Car was completely dead. Nothing worked. Car released too soon. Too many bugs!
Love it!!!
Had the car for 2 months now. Few bugs at pick up but went back and updated the software at the dealer and everything works great including supercruise. Have the 20 inch wheels and getting 350 miles of range. Highly recommend!!

Nicest driving car ever
I have had this car, AWD Lyriq for about two and a half weeks. My only complaint is the slow installation by Cadillac of the charger I purchased (still in the box waiting for installation). This is a beautiful car. It is the smoothest driving car I have driven to date. I like the interior, and I actually like the 2023 door handles, they are very cool. The Y door handles pinch your fingers. I will update you afet I have had the car for 6 months. So far, it is awesome!

Outstanding EV with great range
I can easily squeeze 300 miles out of this SUV, I have the 2023 AWD version and besides some initial minor glitches (expected on first year model) this car drives exceptional.

Our Lyriq has us singing and smiling
We finally picked up the Lyriq that we ordered in late 2021 in May 2023. The order/info to customer process was terribly frustrating and flawed. We did get to see a few displayed Lyriqs, and that kept us going. Great lines and features and pricing was remarkable for a cutting edge EV also qualifying for the federal $7.5K tax credit. Worst of all was after production in February, delivery was so delayed -- and eventually, we were offered an identical Lyriq turned down by another customer and we grabbed it. Since then, we have played with and learned much about this car. Performance, ride, comfort, quietness -- all top notch. And our black exterior/grey interior is very attractive -- draws stares and people who walk up to ask questions. Huge and customizable screen is great, although some simple things are not so simple ... like opening the garage door when arriving home. Three actions needed -- so we simply hung the "clicker" on the visor. We have taken it on two substantial trips -- 250 mile RT to Richmond and 650 mile trip to OBX. Pleasantly surprised, Both trips involved mostly Interstate driving @ mid 70s mph, and the OBX trip was with a loaded car and 4 passengers. The estimated range of 312 miles was pretty accurate, although we stopped both segments on the OBX trip to avoid angst about arrival (@300 miles). Spent about 30 minutes shopping at Target and eating at Chick-fil-A -- and it was a pleasant break, better to us than stopping at a busy WaWa or equivalent. But back to the car features: it has lots of gizmos, including SuperCruise (we are not likely to be heavy users), adaptive cruise control, a really nifty rearview camera, Android Auto, hotspot to keep the grandkids happy, and lots more. Airconditioning is sufficient, nice storage between the two front seats -- and the seats are fully featured and comfortable. Use the phone charger while the phone is powering our GPS screen, and also delivering TXTs and other notices. Replaces a giant Escalade ESV -- our 5th big GM SUV, and is certainly lower -- but still high enough for us to feel safe. VERY solid tracking and amazingly quick -- 70 to 75 almost instantly when I push on the accelerator. Use the regen paddle quite a bit -- and it is remarkable in extending range. Overall, Cadillac has a winner here -- just wish the company had demonstrated more empathy to us -- on our 6th new Cadillac and 20+ new GM vehicle. Have installed 240v plus at our two houses and very pleased with the Phase 2 chargers and pretty pleased with the cord that came with the car. The Facebook group of Lyriq owners is a good resource, as are the Lyriq concierges at Cadillac.com. There are tweaks that need OTA updating, and I miss some deleted features like HUD. And our frustrations with Cadillac communications are not totally done -- we are still awaiting info on our second Lyriq (AWD, red) ordered in early 2022. UPDATE: 2023 DE now has 6,000 miles. Still singing and smiling. Amazing car -- smooth and quiet. A few challenges, including going dead at an awkward time after an OTA update failed midway and drained the 12v battery. When that happens, the car cannot be unlocked or started even though the big, main battery is fully charged. Had to be towed to dealership for completion of the update and battery recharge. Now carry a small, portable jumper, and that worked when the 12v failed again. 3 minute fix. Overall, a delight to drive. Only other lesson: I can drive carefully and get more than the 312 range BUT high speeds and cold temps reduce range significantly. Second Lyriq is a bit more than a month old and only has 32 miles. Persistent connection problems with ONSTAR and MyCadillac app now seem to be resolved and it goes on its first trip in a few days.

Love at first drive
I will keep this short and simple. Styling of exterior and interior is terrific. Acceleration is very peppy. One pedal driving and paddles on steering wheel extend range impressively. All software updates so far have loaded perfectly while stopped in garage. Charging rate is exactly as advertised using electrician installed ChargePoint Home Flex (25 miles added per hour at 32 amps). I just plug it in when home for the evening and range is around 50%. No big deal. SuperCruuse is really good. Way better than my previous BMW driver assist. Some nuisance things like garage door opening buried on low level of screen will eventually get fixed. If you buy a first year limited production introductory vehicle and think it will be without issues, probably might want to rethink the decision. But it is a great car to drive. I prefer it over my wife’s Cadillac CT6.

Most unreliable Car I have ever owned
Received my 2023 Lyriq at the end of Msrch. In six months it has had to go back for repairs 3 times and seem to be getting software updates every other day. This SUV is not ready for prime tome!

My Lyriq
Overall very satisfied with test drive. One thing I did not like about the interior was the vent knobs. Horrible choice for such a nice and sleek vehicle, drives great, great pick up and quiet ride. Definitely a contender,
Not bad first EV out of the box
LOVE THE RIDE AND THE INTERIOR..... have had some annoying but minor issues that Cadillac had resolved...i have owned my debut edition for just over one year. i will update after i get the big update next month.... one issue was a harness for the tailgate being routed under drivers seat causing a voltage drop and improper operation... once the figured it out they fixed it though it took awhile....
