Style and Substance
This car is absolutely incredible. The selective drive modes take you from track car to family road tripper in a split second. Quattro, which Audi has really perfected in terms of AWD, keeps you feeling in control no matter the conditions (or how hard to push the car). The interior is comfortable and well designed. The only complaint is that as usual, the Audi MMI interface is less intuitive than it should be. Overall fantastic car that’s every bit of fast and responsible as advertised (and maybe more). I’ve driven a 911 Carrera 4S, an Aston-Martin DB9 and a BMW M4 among others, and this is hands down the best performing vehicle I’ve ever owned.

Insanely Quick
Coming from an M4 the RS5 Sportback doesn't disappoint. I think the quoted acceleration times are understated as this is a lower-middle 3 second 0-60 car, and a upper-middle 11 sec 1/4 mile without any tuning if you use the quasi-launch feature. The interior is lush and high end materials are abundant. Besides an older version of the MMI being used it still is responsive, easy to navigate, and better than most others on the road today. I do prefer the dial / touchpad over the forthcoming touchscreen. The best part about this car is that it can become a C63 or an M4 instantly with the touch of a button and is a thrill around the track. Lots a grip (be sure to get the Continental Sport Contact 6 tires and 20' wheels), quick to change direction, and instant acceleration (in Dynamic Mode). Surprisingly very low cabin noise for a sports sedan. Bang and Olufsen Audio system is crisp, but could use a little more bass. Radar sensors can be a bit on the sensitive side however, they can be adjusted for the audio warning. The refreshed 2021 model is all cosmetic and has the latest MMI, but you would be giving up the loved touchpad. The only thing they should have done is move the cupholders rearward as taller cups cannot fit underneath the control panel.

Sporty Practical High Performer
I have this car for over a year now and am enjoying it very much. Love the ride, performance and fit and finish.....and it's a real looker too. This car because of its AWD, four doors and hatchback and its stellar performance make it the perfect daily driver for the car enthusiast. The only negative is that the gas tank could be a little bigger so that I wouldn't have to be stopping for gas so often....I am averaging around 300 miles between tankful's. If your used to driving coupes or sedans with traditional ride heights driving this car might take a little getting used to...but once you get adjusted to the lower ride height and feel of the RS5 you will find that it is steps above the driving experience of the traditional auto.

Nightmare RS5
My 2018 RS5 has been in the shop way to much for turbo waste gate issues that Audi states they dont have a fix for yet. They tell me, just give it throttle within 10 seconds of start up. That's BS, now in shop for temperature sensor for 4 days??? Horrible

This thing leaves my e92 m3 for dead!
I wrote this review because there are not many real owners reviews I can find of the RS5 on the net. Every review I read is from a car journalist perspective and is like a copy cut and paste from the previous motoring journals. The reviews on here give the best ones, we own them and don't necessarily drive porches lambos and farraris on the racetrack most days. Well at least I don't. So here goes my amateur opinion... I am a 48 year old bloke and have owned my 2017 RS5 for only a week and I absolutely love it. I took delivery of my nardo grey RS5 coupe after almost buying the last generation m4 competition. I feel have definitely made the right choice. Mine comes with £10k of options including the sports exhaust, black pack, 20 inch alloys and lots of other fancy tech things. This car looks stunning and you do not see many on the road which I like. Mine has only done 24k miles and although its a few years old it is immaculate. I have always driven sporty cars and I still have my V8 2008 M3 coupe, which I have owned for the last 10 years. The overall performance of the RS5 is explosive compared to the older M3. It makes the beemer feel like a dinasour. When I first jumped in the audi, put it in dynamic mode and planted the gas I said out loud... Fkin hell! Everyone I have taken for a spin has a massive grin. This car is so fast. Forget silly reviews saying it's not as much fun or connected as the M4 blah blah. Do we ever drive these things in the real world on a racetrack? I live rural and on my back roads I really don't need the back end sliding out when a tractor is coming the other way. In northern England the roads are damp half the time and a rear wheel drive M3/M4 or any fast rear wheel drive car cannot be pushed hard in the wet, but the RS5 can. The Audi is planted, point and go and easy to drive fast in any road conditions. I love the sound of this Audi in dynamic mode and the burble it makes. My M3 has a sports exhaust and yes the V8 does sound better, but the torque on the M3 is crap, it doesn't come alive unless you wind it up. The newer last gen M4 has similar power to the RS but a tail happy rear end and is lethal verging on unsafe in the wet. The RS can do fast and relatively safe in any road condition. The handling of the RS5 is superb it can really fly round the twisty stuff. There is a split second delay when you hit the gas and then bang it just takes off... And keeps going. Hit the brakes and it grinds to a halt in no time. Journist say its a grand tourer, I say bollox it's a Fkin rocket. It feels light and nimble. The exterior of this RS5 is amazing and the interior and level of equipment is quality and second to none. Audi know how to make a beautiful car.
