Glitchy and unsafe

1. A small rock apparently had come through and damaged my auxiliary radiator which is not covered under warranty. In retrospect I discovered that the lower bumper air vent is without any protection and Audi had similar problem with other models. 2. The infotainment system is hard to use. Moreover to benefit from some advertised options you have to buy ATT data connection even when you have your own Verizon phone with unlimited data. 3. There is no tint on the windshield from the top and if you are under 6 feet it could be a problem with the orientation of the windshield. 4. The panoramic sunroof is covered by a flimsy cloth which is inadequate and hot under the sun. 5. Lane recognition is very unreliable. 6. The sound system even in my prestige leaves much to be desired. 7. It doesn’t have a simple break hold that Honda’s have nowadays. 8. Good luck and happy dancing while trying to open the trunk by inserting your foot under the bumper. 9. Electric issues with cameras suddenly deciding to turn off while backing.

This is a wonderful car and excellent in so many ways, family loves it. Some negatives...Drivers middle column storage area is smallish in the way of compartments for your phones and small objects, mildly irritating. The cars auto cruise control and related Audi pre sense sensors failed to detect a red pickup truck in front of me stopped at a red light and did not decelerate the SUV and I had to quickly apply the brakes scaring my wife. Sometimes the auto steering will just shut off in the middle of turn??? Trust issues at this point so I just don’t use the autopilot except for long drives. Rear hatch will not open by waving foot under sensor 8 out of 10 times. Possibly related to towing package interfering with sensor. Had this car a month. Update: At the 12 month mark...This car was damaged just at the rear right bumper and quarter panel after a driver was traveling too fast from behind and hit the car. The repairs from Audi Certified auto Center in Tysons Va were assessed at $37,700 with about $12,000 in parts. They only have 2 certified techs from Germany. The aluminum on this car can be quite expensive and requires higher labor rates to repair. Expected repair time 2 months!!!! Total loss then declared by insurance. For a minor accident? That being said...Car is so nice I bought another 2019 Q7 with luxury package. No longer own the the 2018

We ordered our 2017 Audi Q7 January 2016 and received it in April of 2016. We took it on an 8000 mile trip. The massaging, heated and cooled seats were amazing. I dont travel well due to physical issues. We added every option and package except rear side air bags and set up for rear seat entertainment. We love ours so much we ordered a new one. Fully loaded this time. We did Prestige Package. We have been very happy with the gas mileage. On our trip we had the car loaded as we spent 6 weeks on the road, we averaged 26 mpg. To me for a full size SUV it was great. I cannot find words to express how happy we are with our car.

Engine Blew at 14k Miles leaving us stranded

The car is beautiful inside and out, Car and Driver and all the other consumer reviews gave great reviews, but our prestige 3.0T engine blew at 14k miles. To add insult to injury, Audi Care refused to reimburse our $525 after hour tow bill since we didn’t use Audi Care to schedule the tow (we didn’t even know the service existed!). I mean, their customer service is the worst I’ve seen ever. I've been on the phone with Audi Care for 6+ hours, talked to numerous representatives who've all said I need to talk w/ this enigma of a supervisor named Mark (who I’ve never been able to contact in the month plus I’ve been trying to get this settled) just trying to get them to reimburse the bill when their engine left us stranded in the middle of a country road at 12:45 in the morning and my family were fearing we’d get hit by another driver. Anyway, long story short, do yourself a favor and avoid the Q7 and Audi Customer Service. In this day and age there's plenty of reliable alternatives with quality customer service.
