A fun yet practical drive
This car has been an excellent purchase for me. I was looking at Jettas and others of that ilk, but his car is obviously head and shoulders over those. After driving the BMW 325xi for some time, I have to say I like the A4 more! The manageability and infrequency of repairs and even scheduled maintenance make this car a no-brainer decision if you're looking at this price level or even moderately below (because the total cost to own is small).
Audi A4 1.8T (Manual)
I bought this car three weeks ago. It's everything I expected: Refined design, subtle but present performance, and excellent handling. Only a week ago, a duck and her ducklings suddently apperared out of nowhere as I was doing 50 mph. I slammed on the brakes and found out what a well-designed, great braking saystem does for you. If I would have done the same on my previous Jeep I would have been all over the road. This baby slowed down fastly but very steady and on a straight line. Perfect.

My review
Great car. Not a problem yet -- only fun.
A bit disappointed with 2002 A4
it has been in the shop twice for check engine light issues. It will be going in for a third time for cruise control problems. The car interior makes "wear and tear" noises that should not be evident in a brand new car. I have an '89 Benz that has less squeaks. I'm guessing the sport suspension induced the squeaks, coupled with driving the car in San Francisco's terrible city streets. For a car that weighs as much as a Toyota 4Runner, I find the V6 lacking.
Audi A4 is an awesome car
Great car for the price. I got such a great deal a month or two after its release. The only negative is the fuel economy. But I guess its expected from a turbo engine. The space in the back is pretty cramped according to my passengers but....its a luxury/sports car. its expected.
