Used 2017 Audi A3 Sportback e-tron Consumer Reviews
Reliability Unproven
Our 2016 Audi A3 e-tron has had to go back to the dealer twice within a month for different issues. The first time the check engine light came on, it was a cooling pump issue. The second time it was an emissions control problem. The dealer supplied us with a much more costly A6 Quattro loaner each time, but we missed our car as it took nearly a week each time for the repairs to be done. Why? The dealer had to order parts from Germany. Apparently U.S. dealers have not received a lot of the parts needed to do anything beyond ordinary maintenance. Also, when the service department is busy, it can take two days just to find out what's wrong. I'm sure glad they have loaners.

Great reliable car.
I bought this car brand new and don’t plan on getting rid of it anytime soon. It has been so reliable and still looks brand new. I was so bummed when they discontinued it since I hoped to upgrade eventually but I am happy with no car payment and this car which still feels new. I have had zero issues with it besides regular maintenance. The only thing (which is normal for EVs) is the battery no longer charges all the way. But that’s expected with EV cars.

Wishing more electrified miles
This 2016 A3 e-tron drives like a proper Audi. My previous car was a 2006 A3 Sportback, the first generation A3 in the US shores. This new car's driving dynamics is very similar to that car, which is a good thing. I do wish that Audi gave it a larger battery because driving in all electric EV mode in this car is very quiet and very satisfying. The 1.4 engine when it turns on is also quiet and more than capable. There were a few internet connection hiccups in the beginning with the e-tron connect service, but that eventually got sorted out. Update: With the warmer months approaching, I'm now able to consistently drive between 20-22 all electric miles (the on board computer usually reads 25-28 AER). The e-tron drives fantastic with just the electric motor. Audi made the right choice by giving it enough juice (85 kW) to pull away from traffic lights and freeway on-ramps on electric power alone. Selecting Hybrid Auto or Sport mode (Hybrid Hold), a driver has access to all 204 HP and 260 ft-lb of torque. One pedal driving with strong regeneration is possible with Sport mode or manual mode on the Tiptronic. e-tron connectivity service can sometimes hiccup. But I believe this is due to Verizon Telematic's finicky signal that is built-in to every e-tron.

Great Car!
Bought new in Feb 2107. Sweet ride all along! Comfortable, 210 hp off the 1.4 L turbo + electric combined. At the time the best power for a small PHEV. Over 110k kilometres the average fuel consumption is 3.8 L/100 km. Live in cold climate, snow and winter ice with snow tires for 5 months each year so I liked the results. On full electric could get between 35-40 km in warm summer weather. Only 18-25 in winter. Do not kid yourself, Every EV is challenged in cold/snowy climates. Trouble with check engine light in first 2 years. Audi eventually fixed. Trouble free car for me. Luv the Tecknik package, adaptive cruise, etc. Nav systems always overestimates time to destination when first setting out. My particular car was a great buy!!

Great Car, a little work
So cute and a nice ride. Only problem is the charging. It takes so long as a plug in and then you only get 16-20 miles. But I was dying for this car and it is so cool!
