Used 2006 Acura TL 4dr Sedan w/Nav System (3.2L 6cyl 5A) Consumer Reviews
2006 Acura TL
TL is a fine and fun car, but it is neither a great luxury car or sports car. The ride is firm, way too much on uneven concrete surfaces. Several rattles.
Bang for the Buck
My last 4 cars were MBenz's with an 02 E55 as the car before the TL. I spent months trying to justify buying a 90K car that didnt do all the things this TL does. yes I miss the big V8 and rear wheel drive, but for 35K this car is awesome. I added the A spec kit which does help with the 18 inch rims and ground effects. Ride is great power is ok, still a little torque steer but not bad if I lay off it. The doors do rattle when the windows are down and the "auto shift" won't let you shift to 2nd so it sort of makes it a little less than true shifting. But again I don't believe there is a better car under 50K including the RL.

Great power on demand
I really love my Acura, it has power to spare, and turns well. I am a little disappointed in the styling of the rear of the car. I think they need to address this isssue, and make a TL that looks a bit more intimidating
BMW vs TL - which one?
I have had a BMW 328/330Ci over the last 10 years. I almost purchased the 2006 330i, agonized and "setteled" for the TL as it was $10k cheaper. First, if you like to drive hard in the country or town, the BMW can't be touched, period. After that, the TL is the best combination of value, reliability, performace that I have found. As I drive mostly highway mileage now, I would continue to choose the TL over the BMW. Torque steer, front wheel drive, turning circle detract from an otherwise great car.
Exciting to Drive - Stress Free Fun
What I wanted was a sporty car. I needed SOME utility, not just a two seater with loads of power. I also wanted to have some quality and a few bells and whistles. Boy does this car deliver! It looks regal with a touch of attitude. Step inside it and the leather brings a smile to my face. There is plenty of room without feeling crammed, and it isn't huge. Suspension is somewhat tight, but not stiff allowing a comfortable suspension ride and perform well on fast cornering or take offs if I choose. The stereo system is sweet and I love the steering controls. Now the downsides - if you really call it that. Gas mileage isn't the greatest, and there is a learning curve on the navigation.
