2023 McLaren 720S

The McLaren 720S is an exotic mid-engine sports car designed by a firm with decades of experience racing in Formula 1. As you might expect, that pedigreed parentage endows the car with awesome performance capabilities.

The 720S can be had as a coupe in standard form or as a retractable-hardtop convertible in 720S Spider guise. No matter which variant you choose, you'll get a 710-horsepower twin-turbocharged V8 mated to a quick-shifting seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. That potent powertrain, when paired with a carbon-fiber structure and lightweight aluminum bodywork, delivers outlandish acceleration. McLaren estimates that a 720S coupe can rocket from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.9 seconds. Meanwhile, the 720S' advanced suspension with racing-derived electronically controlled dampers contribute to its extreme cornering ability.

McLaren has announced the end of production for the 720S, and 2023 is its final year. As such, the supercar carries over virtually unchanged from last year. The McLaren 750S, which is largely an updated version of the 720S, will be its replacement. Overall, we love the 720S' undeniable presence that's backed up by its ridiculous performance chops. It's a worthy competitor to the Ferrari F8 Tributo, Lamborghini Huracan and Porsche 911 Turbo S.
