HERNDON, Virginia The unnamed Audi concept car that is bound for the 2014 Beijing Auto Show hints at "another possible member of the TT family of vehicles," Audi of America told Edmunds on Tuesday.

Audi AG posted three images of the concept car, which looks like a TT crossover, on its Web site, but offered no explanation.

The new concept car has a coupe-style roof line, five doors and four seats.

When asked to provide more information, Audi of America described the Beijing auto show concept car as "a further development of the 2014 Detroit Auto Show concept car." No word yet about whether it is in the U.S. future-product portfolio, Audi said.

"It has more of an 'SUV' character compared to the Detroit auto show concept car, which has an 'allroad' character," wrote John Schilling, an Audi of America spokesman, in response to a query.

He added: "Like the Detroit auto show concept car, the Beijing auto show concept car is a plug-in hybrid and an E-tron Quattro, but it also features inductive charging. It is another possible member of the TT family of vehicles."

The Audi Allroad Shooting Brake Concept debuted at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. It is a concept for a future small, sporty crossover with a plug-in gas-electric hybrid drivetrain. The three-door model blended elements from the 2014 Audi Allroad and TT production cars. It is smaller than the 2015 Audi Q3.

Edmunds says: Audi continues to tinker with future crossovers and may have a winner with a version that takes lots of cues from the popular TT.
