AUBURN HILLS, Michigan Chrysler is recalling 21,000 2014 Ram ProMaster full-size vans to inspect and replace various electrical components because of a possible corrosion problem, the automaker said.

Chrysler said it is unaware of any related injuries or accidents.

Dealers will inspect and replace various electrical components that support propulsion, airbag deployment and external lighting. Moisture-resistant sealant will be applied to all components, whether replaced or not.

"Warranty data identified a small number of cases in which blown fuses were linked to moisture exposure," Chrysler said in a statement on Thursday. "In each case, moisture that was brought into the vehicle via wet footwear or other means had seeped into an in-cabin compartment that houses its battery and other components."

It added: "There are no issues with the vehicle's imperviousness to rain, snow or ice."

Most of the vehicles were in dealer hands or in transit to dealers as Chrysler was investigating the problem.

Owners can contact Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403.

No information about the recall has been posted on the Web site of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which oversees vehicle recalls in the U.S.

Edmunds says: While no timetable for the recall has been spelled out, Chrysler said affected customers will be advised when they may schedule service.
