DETROIT — The 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 starts at $75,000, including a $995 destination charge and gas-guzzler tax, General Motors announced on Friday.

The Camaro Z/28 arrives in showrooms in the spring. The first Camaro Z/28 will be cross the block at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona, on January 18.

Only one option is available: A $1,150 package that bundles air conditioning and six audio speakers.

The Z/28 is $16,075 more expensive than the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. The 2014 ZL1 starts at $58,925, including a $995 destination charge and gas-guzzler tax.

The new Z/28 is offered in five exterior colors: Red Hot, Black, Silver Ice Metallic, Ashen Gray Metallic and Summit White.

The high-end Camaro competes with the 2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers now know they can get out the door with a fully loaded Z/28 for $76,150.
