Purchased my 2021 Certified XC-90 non-Hybrid in 2024 after ditching a new 2024 Mazda CX-90 low hybrid that proved to be a lemon with over 25 visits to dealer in under 3300 miles and 8 months of ownership. I'd had enough issues with my Mazda to not want another Hybrid. My 2021 T6 gas-only certified XC-90 purchased at 32K miles has been stellar. ZERO issues. The simpler tech of a gas only vehicle, at least for me after my poor experience with my first low hybrid has been nothing less than a perfect experience. The ride, comfort, design and over-all ownership experience has been superb as compared to me previous disaster 2024 Mazda CX-90 low hybrid ownership. I have yet to find any issues nor complaints about my 2021 XC-90 and I'm kind of picky on vehicle faults and issues for vehicles I've owned. Considering the XC-90 has been around a long time (sadly the Mazda CX-90 was introduced in 2024), it is a safe bet to purchase a late model. The last year for gas-only was about 2021-22, so consider your options, check the MPG specs, do the math of cost over-all and do consider looking at gas-only models. If you can buy a gas-only model at a lower price than a Hybrid, do the math if higher MPG will really be a $$ saver! In my case, Gas-only saved me $$ over owning another hybrid, used or worst, a brand new one!

This SUV is large but drives more like a car. Smooth ride, precise steering, ample power, and good gas mileage. High quality, luxurious interior. If you want luxury and comfort, I high recommend it. If you want sheer power and speed, there are probably faster SUVs. I love it and would buy it again.

Absolutely Gorgeous - Software/Electrical Issues

2021 XC90 T8 Plug-In Inspiran. I absolutely love the interior of this vehicle, the horsepower, and how it handles!! We have owned other luxury cars, but the interior of this one beats them all. The blonde leather seats are gorgeous and comfortable, it handles well, has a great sound system, has tremendous pick up and go, gets 44 mpg when I remember to plug it in, and has just the right room to carry passengers without feeling too big. The downside has been the service department not answering their phones and difficulty I had getting it in for service in the first 6 months for a sensor replacement and software update two years ago. It is absolutely a gorgeous car with a lot of power and great gas mileage. Other than a less than attentive service staff and the initial software issues two years ago, I absolutely love the car.
