Used 2004 Volvo XC90 2.5T AWD 4dr SUV (2.5L 5cyl Turbo 5A) Consumer Reviews
Old Reliable - The Epitome of a Volvo
In 2003, my family made the best decision of our lives. We bought our silver XC90 brand new and will never get rid of it. In the nearly 17 years that we have owned this fantastic piece of machinery, it has needed no major repairs. This tank truly showcases Volvo's superior safety and reliability, where some people only get rid of theirs because they get bored with their model. I think the only "major" thing we needed to do was change the timing belt at 110k. Yes, we only have about 152k miles and it's been with us for almost 20 years, but it still has the same power and fierceness it did in its first year. Shame the dealership is now an hour away, but thankfully, we have not needed to go out there for anything major. Heck, we love this car so much, we bought a 2nd one, a 2018 Inscription! If you ever come across one, we highly recommend you check it out and buy one for yourself :)

Excellent to own
We bought the SUV last Feb and we love its safety, comfort and its easy to manage in severe snow storm. The heated seats and back provide warmth as soon as you start the car in cold weather. The premier sound is a plus to enjoy on the road and the children can select their favorite channels while we listen to our music. The sensor windshield is so convenient to have. The temperate can be set so it will not be too cold or too hot. This is a wonderful car to have and we love it since day one. We are Volvo lovers. Our first Volvo is 1990 240. Our 2nd Volvo is 1995 940 sedan and we still drive it.

Don't let the looks fool you!!!!
If you're thinking about buying this car please don't, I bought used, had it for less than a year and it was in the shop three time, with the fee being not less than $1,000 when I found out I had a few leak. I sold is as is. Glad to be rid of the piece of junk. Oh but the car looked beautiful!
Excellent car!
My Volvo is now 18 years old, but with low mileage - only 69K miles. I prefer to drive the car on highway trips with my Labrador Retriever, my big German Kettler bike or, for comfort, with a larger group of people. It is a very solid and comfortable car, everything works and the car still looks and runs like new. No maintenance issues since my last report. For urban driving and parking the Volvo is less suitable, with its large turning circle, and it is far less agile/economical than my Mercedes GLC 300. Overall I am bery pleased with my XC 90 and it is definitely for keeps. A Volvo is for life, they say, and it will hold true in my case. I am 81 and have no interest in ever selling it or replacing it with a newer model.

The worst car I've ever had
We have a 2004 Volvo XC90 that required our transmission replace 22 months ago with a 4K bill attached to it, then just last week had to have it towed in again. The first time we did not have our vehicle for 3 weeks, and now again one week has passed already. They claim fluid leaked causing severe damage to the car and now the transmission not only needs to be replaced again, but also the radiator, axle shaft, oil cooler, oil line and a host of others to the tune of $7331.90. The car currently has 122K miles, and the last time the transmission was replaced is was well under 100K miles. The dealer has even told me over the phone this fluid leaking a known problem
