Used 2001 Volvo V70 Consumer Reviews
It does have some issues, but not bad
This car is very pleasant to drive, people compliment its looks all the time, and I feel safe in it. There have been annoying minor problems but the dealers have been gracious about replacements of parts w/warranty. Minor light bulbs, the mechanical cupholder, and the fuel door have all had to be replaced. I'm careful about maintenance, Mobil 1 every 4000 miles. It has hauled furniture and teenagers with room to spare, and is excellent for long road trips.
Superior performance..excessive troubles
I bought this volvo a year ago. The engine performance, styling, and comfort is like no other. However, I have had too many problems...suspension parts, rubber bushings, brake booster, light bulbs, turn signal relay switch have been replaced in a 12 month period. My previous Toyota 4runner I drove for 5 years and not one single problem. I had the opportunity to drive a Toyota while my Volvo was being repaired and I will say that even with the constant little troubles, the Volvo's ride, performance, and craftsmanship are way above the Japanese and American cars I have owned in the past. Conclusion....even with the little problems, I still love my Volvo.
What more could you want?
This is probably the best designed car I have had. Excellent ergonomics. Reliable. Lots of thought went into this car. This car is great on the highway and on dirt roads. The car has power, hugs the road during rain, and is fun to drive. After road trips, I'm ready to do things. Great seats! The interior and exterior color scheme is excellent. Good to look at and functional. No sunlight reflecting off of the dashboard. Nice leather stitching and interior combinations. Great sound system. Just a good car.
Best car yet
Excellent service at the dealor. Car is the best car I've owned so far! Fun driving, reliable, safe and sharp looking.
Disappointed in our 2001 XC
What a disappointment! Our volvo xc was my dream car but we've had nothing but problems with it and we're still experiencing problems. At first the problems were minor and under warranty, so it wasn't any big deal. But we have an extended warranty but it wouldn't cover the $1000 throttle that went out. Our volvo dealership indicates that it's common for the throttle to go out and this was at less than 60K miles. We won't buy another one and I'm hoping to get rid of this one before anything else goes wrong! These are too overpriced for all the maintenance that is required.
