Servicing Surprise
I brought my 2018 Volvo S90 AWD in for regular servicing on 7/20/20. It has 17K miles on it, and I have had it since 11/'18. I was told it needed a complete brake job costing $665. I never had a car before that needed a brake job done with such low mileage. All of my driving is to local stores, and an adjacent county. My son, who was with Land Rover, called an Insurance Adjuster he knew about it the brake job. The Adjuster said "the brakes on that model do not last long at all" it's a Volvo problem". Also, for a luxury car going over the bumps in the road, you feel them, and due to the 4 wheel drive, some are teeth jarring! The tires should have been one size larger, and the shock absorption better. Also, the car sits much lower than what I was used to of getting in and out of my previous vehicles I'm only 5'9" and "drop in" and hold onto the car rail to get out comfortably. . It has all the latest tech& safety features, beautiful design, plush interior, and performs well on the highway, when passing power is needed. I have been buying Volvos since buying my first: 1985 450GL (brick on wheels), and I'm looking forward to turning this one back to the dealer in 2021 for another.

Beautiful Swedish car with poor chinese quality
We bought a very gently used 2018 S90 T8 inscription with *every* option. It had 13k miles on it. We traded it in 4 months later at 19k. Here's why. Within 6k miles the following happened. Rear suspension collapsed once completely. Rear suspension was generating errors in the instrument cluster 2 other times. The infotainment system randomly just restarted at least a dozen times, once it happened twice within 15 minutes. I pressed the voice command button once on the steering wheel and the "ding" prompt to speak got stuck like a skipping CD - for MILES. I had to pull over and turn the car off completely. Single lines of pixels disappeared from the LCD instrument cluster twice. Now, all of these issues "reset" or disappeared once the car was completely shut off, let sit for about 2 minutes and then restart. It seems these are all likely attributed to poor software/firmware throughout the vehicle. I didn't want to be going back and forth with the dealership techs for months on this (having been a tech myself and knowing how difficult it is to replicate such issues) so we simply traded it in. Also, at about half volume on the (very nice sounding) stereo, there were all sorts of rattles throughout the car. Unacceptable for a flagship model of ANY make!

Best car is Volvo, appeal for German cars gone
My cars have been M.B. up until the quality fell apart in the 80's, 90's, and currently. The BMW is so highly over rated it is a joke, and the electronics in that car with an emphasis to over engineer the car is sad and a finical nightmare. The VOLVO -S-90 has been very well received, great handling, wonderful supercharged to turbo-charged 6 cly engine that loves to driven hard, designed and built by Porsche, many years ago. The same engine won "Wards" best build. Have a total of 110 k on the clock and uses zero oil, never had an Audi that could do that!
Excellent ride
Very happy picking up a 2018 S90. Great ride, superior sound system, nice handling, awesome features more than expected for the price. Surprising good mileage for a larger sedan. Voice activation of controls very simple and keeps my hands on the wheel. Great rear seat room for the family. 360 degree view makes parking a snap.

Annoying auto/stop
I traded my 2018 Audi A5 for this Volvo and 2 years later my Volvo has depreciated about twice as much as the Audi. I asked the dealer several times to find a way to disengage the auto stop/start, but they are of no help. I have to push a button every time I drive the car, otherwise there is an annoying shaking every time I stop and go. Not subtle at all. The Pilot Assist is only good for straight highways. Otherwise the car will weave back and forth over lines and turn off the road at exits when lines disappear. Lastly, the GPS is bad, and very difficult to judge distances when to turn. I always have to send the destination from my phone because the voice recognition is horrible. Otherwise, it’s a nice looking and comfortable car to drive.
