No more Saabs for me!
I have now owned three Saab models which have been relatively nice vehicles. I decided to take a closer look at Volvo's flagship vehicle when it was released. To my surprise I wound up trading in my tired Saab for Volvo's S80 T6 sedan. This is a great car! The car was just over $50,000 out the door and the dealer wouldn't budge much on the price. Regardless, no regrets on this car. The car now has over 90,000 miles of trouble free driving. Runs nicer than any other car I've owned. Much more comfortable than my previous Saabs and acceleration to leave all other luxury cars in the dust (most sports cars too.) All around, this is great car!
Loved it!
I bought mine wrecked with 70k miles-- my dad owns a shop and he fixed it and then we moved across the country. It does excellent in bad snow, even with the winter driving off. I had no issues with this car whatsoever. My only issue was that parts cost so much and you really have to take it to the dealer for just an oil change because no one carries the filter. It's pretty fast for a full size sedan and mine got 25-28 mpg. The stereo sound is pretty awesome for just being factory. If brand new ones weren't so expensive I would buy another.
Not Worth the $$$$
After way too many problems (literally, too many to list) I traded in my S80 T6 for a Passat. After getting over the intial shock of trade in value - $30,000 less than sticker price (the car was loaded to the hilt and had 56,000 miles, I knew that I didn't have a choice. With my warranty up and still having massive problems, I had to get rid of it. My new Passat has everything that the Volvo had except the Nav system and horsepower and the best part - it cost me half the price! I love my new car!
Volvo S80 is a great car.
When my lease ended on myu Mercedes back in 1999, some I work with recommended I go see the S80 by Volvo. I'd never owned a Volvo before in my life but I said, sure I'll check them out. I'm sure glad I did. My Volvo now has about 80k and runs like thee day I drove it off the lot. This car has been low maintenance and especially trouble free. I had it on a lease but recenttly refinanced it. I will not sell this car. It's been the best and most reliable car I have ever owned!
I love my 1999 Volvo S80
I have a silver 1999 Volvo S80. I did a lot of research before buying this vehicle. I have now owned it for about four years and am very satisfied. For the money, this car outperforms everything in it's class. My Volvo has been extremely reliable and a pleasure to own. Since buying my S80, I actually look forward to driving. The S80 is a fantastic choice. Very reliable!
