Disappointing, not per specs. Volvo doesn’t care.
Was very excited about my S60. Before I share my routine ownership experience let me just tell you that my car is a lemon. It drinks gasoline as if it was a v16 Lamborghini. 15MPG city / 19MPG highway is not near acceptable. I have filled up 7’tankanin the past 1300 miles. This is NOT OK and Volvo is not responsive to my emails and calls after opening a complaint. Moreover they tried to blame my driving which is really adding insult to injury . I have been driving for 30 years and had far better fuel economy on some huge engine gas guzzlers. I use Eco Drive and Comfort modes, drive mostly alone without load, on normal roads, in a flat area, at average weather/humidity and near sea level elevation. I’m not an aggressive driver. Moreover, this is a T5 FWD and I drove an AWD T6 loaner for a few days being aggressive on dynamic mode, I couldn’t get it to take more than 22.4 MPG/City. Speaking to other 2019 S60 drivers confirms my car is off. I deserve better than being ignored. So now, review after 2 months ownership: The S60 is stunning inside out, great seats too, lots of technology-actually too much half-baked technology. The ride is comfort is average but a bit noisier than I would imagine. The ride is a bit lazy, the car is heavy and does not accelerate anywhere near its prescribed specs. It is annoyingly wide but this may reduce the roll. Assembly quality is a bit sloppy and there are some materials that seem very cheap. Vinyl seating (didn’t opt for Napa leather) is not perforated and gets scorching hot in the summer and very sweat provoking. It’s a bit disappointing as the seats have such superior support. The Sensus system is frankly annoying. Volvo is selling itself as the safety company but there is nothing safe about futzing with screen drama for every little thing. It takes about 12 clicks to switch to your favorite radio station and even changing the AC fan speed requires far too many clicks and focal attention. There is no tactile sense to anything so you really have to be a distracted driver or stop on the side of the road. I don’t know who these days buys Volvo navigation when Google/Waze are years ahead and are free but if you don’t buy Volvo’s navigation, expect 1/4 of your big screen to become a permanent announcement of your lack of service. Additionally, while excessive features like touchscreen-activated folding rear headrests are standard, simple fog lights are a huge add on. Safety first? I don’t think so. Also the car is glitchy with CarPlay, windows that open on their own in the middle of the night, false airbags alert (recall completed For that), false alerts from the OnCall app that my light bulbs need changing and that my trunk is open. This is a gorgeously designed over-engineered half-baked machine or disappointing quality. Its safety flaws are hidden in its user experience. And the worst part about it is that Volvo couldn’t care less.

Fun, Comfortable, Safe
We purchased a lease return 2019 S60 T8 that had only 8,000 miles on the odometer. Love the ride, the safety features, and best of all the mileage. I have averaged a little over 50 MPG in two months of driving. The car is quiet, and the seats very accommodating. Fully charging with a standard 110 type 1 charger takes about 7 hours. I am getting about 25 miles of range in all electric mode, which means most in town driving is electric. Also really like the display that shows electric vs. gas utilization. The B&W sound system is a pleasant bonus. The car's acceleration is amazing, handling is smooth and precise (for me, at least). Just signed up and started using the AT&T in car hotspot, it works great, and is free for 3 months, then $10 as an AT&T customer. The various views, especially the 360, as super for getting out of a long narrow driveway. The panoramic roof is sweet, and the wind buffer works great to reduce noise. Overall workmanship is really top notch. The down sides- the two cup holders do not hold mugs, they hold small cups. The roof line leaves a larger than normal blind spot that is accounted for with their blind spot monitoring. No USB in the rear seats. The infotainment takes time to get used to, but I have an 18 yr old helping me. Oh- no AM radio! The pros definitely outweigh the cons, this car is fantastic, loving the drive every time we use it!

Love it!!
It is early days as I have only had the car a week. But first impressions are very good! Really comfortable, nice easy, smooth, quiet ride. Oh and very quick. Goes through gears nice and smoothly. Looks and feels great! Take no notice of the professional reviews, listen to the customers. If you are thinking of getting one do it!! But like I said, it is early days.

Great, fun, peppy car!
I’ve had this car almost two years now. I’m quite picky about my cars, and I’ll have to say this car has done really well overall. Pros: Smooth on battery power Super quiet! Love controlling on the app Excellent stereo - Bowers & Wilkins Apple CarPlay 360 degree camera is pretty decent, Infiniti has the best I’ve seen though. Fast! Excellent wheels! Very sporty. Cons: Transition from battery to gas can be a little rough once in a while, but not always by any means Sunroof doesn’t open too far Apple CarPlay should be wireless! This would be so convenient Wishes: Would rather have a wider screen, Waze and maps are too small I wish the 360 camera could come on automatically if driving forward and you get close to something (see Infiniti) I wish I could make 360 camera come on easier and quicker Longer batteries running ability, I love how smooth it is to drive on battery. Overall i’m glad I bought this car, and am surprised how well it does! My favorite thing about it is the way it looks on the outside, it’s very good looking. It takes a lot for me to be satisfied with a car, and they pretty much hit the mark! Very solid choice.

I regret my purchase, bad quality
Bought a CPO 2019 S60 T6 AWD Momentum in 2020. I had to replace the rotors 3 times in 30k miles: it is a known issue that Volvos warp the rotor very quickly, Volvo and the dealers are aware of this issue and do nothing to solve it. So when your warranty is expired, get ready to change rotors every few thousand miles. Also, my sunroof got stuck open and had to be replaced (under warranty back then). So, overall, very disappointed by the vehicle quality and by Volvo's customers' service.

Worst car ever...
I was seriously thinking of buying the 2019/2020 Volvo S60. For personal testing I rented one for 2 weeks. I am so happy that I rented one. This is the crappiest luxury car ever. Good engine and drivetrain. Pretty fast pickup from stop, and that is all the good stuff. Worst ergonomics, the driveshaft tunnel is way too high, no storage space other than two cup holders and are rear console/storage bin. Extremely frustrating touchscreen menus, not sure why Volvo went with tall touchscreen. Small width limits Apple CarPlay screen, and it is the smaller I have ever seen in modern cars. Worst yet, this is 2019 and this car has only one USB, just 1 in a freaking $50k car. Completely unacceptable. Seating position is not good either, I don’t like to sit all the way down, And usually raise the seat few inches. After raising the seat, I started hitting my head while entering or exiting the car and my hair were running on the roof liner. I am 5’10” so it was disappointing to experience lack of headroom. Poor visibility is another problem. Rearview mirror, front camera and passenger side A-pillar blocks 75-80% visibility on passenger side. This is very dangerous in urban environment while turning right when pedestrians might enter the intersection without warning. Trunk space is limited. I was only able to fit two large size (28”) suitcases in the trunk. Absolutely no space left for anything else. With 2 adults and 3 kids, we had to be creative in packing for a 7 day, 2500 mile family trip. Very frustrating. Half way in the trip, the lower engine cover fell dow and started rubbing in the road. Had to stop at closest Walmart and fix it using zip ties. 2 days later the Rear Left window trim piece came out and fell on the driveway while my daughter was raising the window :( These are the things we experienced in 2 weeks. I am sure if we keep it longer we will find more stuff relating to poor workmanship, design and ergonomic. I used to own a Volvo 960. The transmission went on it one day and the quote was $3500 to fix it. I sold after putting in a reconditioned transmission for $2200. I thought Volvo quality might have improved in last 20 years, apparently not. Needless to say, I will not be buying/leasing or recommending any Volvo ever. Not worth the headache, frustration and my money.

VOLVO SERVICE AND WARRANTY MAKE IT EVEN MORE JUNK
Steering Steering Steering issues and vibrations with junk Chinese Drive shafts. 3 sets of tires and many many lies later Volvo prove what they are - Junk. They could care less.
Shocking mpg
Hi recently brought a volvo s60 r design top of the range ,and was told by the dealers the car would achive 45-42 on a run and 36-38 urban around town ,this is clearly not the case the car is shocking on fuel and only returns 21 around town and 26 on a run !! Been back to the dealership twice and I've heard more excuses under the sun regarding the problem ,simply put stay away not worth the hassle and on going battles .

Love mine
My first Volvo and I love it. Purchased my 2019 s60 r design with polestar used and got a great deal. Car is sporty , fast , comfortable and good on gas. I actually enjoy driving this car. Only nit picking is the heat and ac controls are a little hard to get used to and when on high I find it is quite noisy. No other complaints after owning for 6+ months.

Love mine
Got it used, warranty covered a few things out of the gate and couldn't be happier. Had a 2013 S60 RDesign platinum. So not as fast or sporty but gorgeous and love the Harman/Kardon sound system upgrade.. was horrible in my 2013. This one has deep rich bass, clarity & great 7.1 channel quantum logic surround sound. Nothing like BMW H/K (no volume/no bass/bad sounding old 5.1 "logic 7" surround sound) alfa H/K or any other for that matter. Clearly Volvo has worked with H/K to make it a worthy downgrade from the Bowers and Wilkins upgrade(which HK also makes and is hands down one of the best in car sound systems esp. In clarity and dynamic range) a HUGE upgrade from the base sound system. Wish it had an extra helping of engine power without the polestar engine optimization 330hp/325lb-ft of torque stock then have the polestar upgrade bump it up more. Faster in manual mode (measurably). I Drive it in ESC sport mode all the time and dynamic engine in individual mode. Next is to lease new S60 T6 R-Design with sport suspension, bowers, advanced pkg, park pilot assist, and polestar optimization. Had one unexpected visit dealer visit common on all 2019 SPA Volvo's. The dynamic suspension rides amazingly, although for my personal tastes I wouldn't mind the sport suspensions added firmness, I'm still happy with the dynamic. Stock conti tires are trash, no grip and poor wet performance. Good wear. Overall, love it and the momentum T6 trim with premium and multimedia pkgs is well equipped.
