They Don't Make Them Like This Anymore
If you are looking to break the Land Speed Record - well...this is the wrong car for you. If you want a car of legendary quality, safety and reliability, then look no further. These may not be "sexy" qualities, but there's something to be said about a car that has an average lifespan of 16.2 years. Gas mileage (mine is 25/gallon in the city, 32 on the highway) is surprisingly good for the car's size and age. Great cornering makes them fun to drive. The chassis are huge and the engines are simple, making D.I.Y. maintenance easier than most vehicles. And I can't even begin to tell you how great it is to own a rear-wheel drive with a standard transmission in an Eastern Canadian winter.
The old 240s rock!
If you want a car that is reliable, safe, has great low-end torque, a kicking turn radius and looks classy to boot, the the 240 is the car you are looking for.

This volvo is a very reliable ride though the performance is 100% terrible, it weighs so much that it can not accelerate or corner on par with any other car. But volvo's are not performers, they are life savers, and the 240DL is a tank. If all that you are looking for a safe and reliable car and you could care less about performance and looks, this car is for you.
Go Volvo!!!!
I love my Volvo. I purchased my Volvo as a second car and then noticed I no longer used my 1998 Saturn. I can't imagine driving anything else.
LOVE
This is my first car and I absolutely love it. It is extremely safe and i feel like i am driving a tank, in a good way. No parking space is off limit and no matter how bad i park i still fit in the space.
