VW's service is absolutely unacceptable for the quality of their cars. I had a major defect in my 2004 (gas tank) and they treated it like it was a broken sun visor clip. Truly unbelievable, and quite a shame because the Touareg is a heck of a vehicle. Just pray nothing goes wrong with it, which is highly unlikely. The salesman I purchased mine from said 7 out of 10 Touaregs he sells come back to the shop for some reason or another. Most popular problem was with the radio systems.

I have had nothing but problems from day one. The rear hatch was ready to fall off from the factory. When the hatch was opened it buckled against the roof and bent the roof. There are noises that come from under the dash that the service people have not heard before. Now the display tells me that I have a Break Failure. Would I purchase another or another VW? NO! I have talked to 3 other owners that would love to get out of their Lease. As time goes on it only gets worse..

To start with I love this truck! I tis a great design good to drive. The reason for this review is the total lack of any sort of reliability with the unit. Brakes @ $850.00 per axcel I have replace 7 times. Tires maybe 25000 on a good set. Electrical system is absolutely the worst I have ever dealt with. Drive Train, hads to replace the drive shaft linkage at 34500 and the factory wouldn't cover the cost to repair. I cannot tell you how much this vehicle has cost me to own. Never again... Watch Out!
