I live in 4 seasons country and I have now converted to 4motion as a way of life. Driving to work everyday on poorly plowed roads allows me to do circles around other SUVs and I pushed my car hard to get to work on time and have yet to spin out. I am not a professional driver but I have driven a lot across the country many times and my car has yet to fail, sputter, or slight in any form of performance. She takes what gets thrown at her with a determined grin. The turbo-charged engine makes easy work of green lights and passing cars on the freeway. Mileage has been about 24/25mpg steadily and I have yet to have a major repair going on 1.5 years/ 11000+ miles. Miles are too easy.

I test drove the 2012 model tiguan and felt the weird gear shifts. 2013 model does not have it. No vibrations, rumbling or what so ever in any speed. The panaromic sunroof is gorgeous. Driving is very fun and feels very safe. I can take winding roads with 50 on hwy when the reccomendation is 30. Grips the road and asks more. Bluetooth is avrcp 1.3 tho, which does not work with iPhone's 1.4 avrcp (ios6) so I can not skip tracks (I can still listen tho) Interior build quality is very good. Interior looks very cool especially at night, all the red lights inside definitely adds some elegance. gas milage is not so great tho, I get 22. Its been a month may be will get better...

I bought a 2014 Tiguan SEL 4motion and it is the best car I have owned to date. I have owned other crossovers such as the Nissan Rogue and the Mazda CX-5 and they cannot compare to my Tiguan. The Tiguan's engine is really quiet and smooth and works really well with the transmission. I leave the car in sport mode most of the time and acceleration is quick. The new upgraded Fender stereo is amazing. One of my biggest issues with my Mazda CX-5 that I traded in for this car was the terrible stereo. This stereo is truly a premium stereo with perfect surround sound. The inside of the car has a very premium feel, the seats are very comfortable with excellent lumbar support.

Just got the '13 Tiguan S w/panoramic sunroof & mat kit for my wife and we love this car. Small CUV that handles like a sport sedan with all tried and true German automotive attributes: sophisticated & understated interior and exterior styling, satisfying performance & handling and rock solid build. After driving both the S and SE, the S is already so well equipped incl. leather wrapped multi-function steering wheel, MFD display, bluetooth etc. that we couldn't justify the extra $5k or so for leatherette and lower profile tires. Great ride, great family car, excellent lease deals to be had.

I test drove everything from Kia to Mercedes before buying the Tiguan, and this was a stand out vehicle from them all. The solid build quality, quiet cabin and quick turbo engine sold me on this one. It has a "fun to drive" factor that most small suv's do not. There is plenty of cabin room even in the back seat which slides forward and back and/or lays flat for more cargo room. If it weren't for the height and extra room you would think you were driving a GTI. Very sporty, quick and fun! Overall thrilled with my purchase! Three years into ownership and normally I would have new car fever by now, but I'm still in love with my Tiguan! By far my favorite car I've ever owned. No issues other than just doing scheduled maintenance and it still runs like it did the day I bought it, now having 45,000 miles on it. I would absolutely recommend this car to anyone looking for a great fun to drive, reliable, comfortable ride!

I bought my 2014 Tiguan SE only about 10 days ago but first impressions overall are favorable. The car feels much bigger on the inside while driving it than it does from the outside. It is quiet, smooth, has plenty of power, and handles well. *Update* I drove the Tiguan for 3 years now and there isn't much I would change to my initial review. However, I will add that I have had zero problems with it. Around town it zips around and parks easily. On the slightly negative side it feels a little darty on the highway at speed. I think it's the short wheelbase and the higher seating position. At first it feels tippy but you eventually get used to it and realize it is actually quite stable. Ive watched youtube videos of them on a race track or dirt course and they don't tip over. Never heard of problems either in Germany and they drive them fast. Just be aware of that feeling I described when you test drive one. Your confidence in it will grow over time. Also, fuel economy is not the best. I probably average about 22mpg overall. Small price to pay for the peppy engine though. Better engine than any other reasonably priced small SUV on the market. This generation Tiguan is still built in Wolfsburg Germany and the build quality is excellent. Better than any of its domestic or Asian competitors in my opinion. The fit and finish, materials quality are a cut above. Also, it has a standard height adjustment for the passenger seat. This can be very important for shorter or taller people. No Asian small SUV has one.

I've had the Tiguan for about two months now and am happy with the purchase. Coming from a Camry, the taller height and tighter feel are welcomed. The build quality and cabin design are excellent, and the pickup is great, especially in Sport shift mode. I do find that the tighter feel can create a bumpy ride on rough roads. I don't have enough experience with other sporty cars to know if this is just what you get, or if it's unique to the VW. It's not enough to outweigh the pluses, but I notice it.

I bought this as an off-lease vehicle in January of 2017. It had 14,300 miles on it at the time. It was replacing a 2005 Honda CR-V EX AWD, which was a decent vehicle. The Tiguan’s interior is very nice. Getting in and out of the vehicle is easy thanks to the seat height. The seats are comfortable enough, although during a 10 drive I was having a hard time getting comfortable. That may be true of any vehicle. It has good power stock. I found that it ran out of steam while passing on the freeway. Around town it was great. I do not like the transmission though. It shifts too soon leading the engine to lug a lot. If you use Sport mode it won’t shift into 3rd until you are going about 55. I find myself using the manual mode more than I’d like. The a/c unit really robs a lot of power. My vehicle has been modified with an APR Stage 1 tune. That took care of any power problems. It now has about 250 hp and 310 lb ft of torque. The turbo went out when the vehicle only had 48k miles on it and it cost me about $2600 to have it replaced. I don’t blame that on the tune. The tune was done a few months before the turbo failed and I am not hard on the vehicle. I have got up to 32mpg and have averaged 26.1 over 101 tanks. I don’t have a lot of faith in it’s long term reliability, but it is fun to drive. Updated 11/24/2021 The vehicle now has 67k miles on it. I had to replace another turbo in July of 2021 and only 18k since the last turbo was installed. I never drove the vehicle hard. I loved the extra power from the APR Stage 1 tune, but had to remove it due to two turbos going out. The interior is very quiet and has no rattles. I have owned it for about 5 years and would like to move on from it. I have averaged 24.1 mpg with 154 fill ups tracked on fuelly. Updated on 05/29/2023 I am averaging 25.8 mpg over 188 fill ups. It now has 81,000 miles on it. I have done nothing except regular maintenance since my last update. I like the vehicle more all the time, especially given what the cost of a replacement would be now. I wish it didn't require premium fuel, but that isn't enough to make me want to sell it.

AN OLD MAN'S CAR WITH A YOUNG MAN'S SENSIBILITIES

2013 Volkswagen Tiguan S 4dr SUV (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 6M)

When I used to do Army Staff Meetings, we were required to do THREE UPS & THREE DOWNS. UPS: 1. DROP DEAD GEORGEOUS INTERIOR. No CUV on the market approaches the interior of a TIGUAN, not Audi, not Lincoln, not Land Rover, not Caddi. I also adore the instrument panel with analogue TAC on the left, MFR in the middle and analogue SPEEDO on the Right. I D-I-S-P-I-S-E Cutsy Instrument Clusters where MFG'rs 'Crunch them all together' else place them in the bottom of SOUP CANS 2. COMFORT & EGRESS The Tiguan, pronounced 'A-Ti-Guano' in Spanish or Italian has no rivals for entering/exiting the vehical or its comfy front & back seats. 3. A GUTSY LITTLE TURBO CHARGED 4 BANGER For a Compact CUV 'Pavement Princess', she can hawl ask!!! Will the TIGUAN beat a Porsche SUV on the line? Not what you paid for it. Who cares, I don't plan racing the car or entering the Paris to Dakkar Ralley. DOWNS: 1. TRUNK SPACE. The Tiguan can handle a stuffed GYM bag, a tool box and some small toys. That's it. You want a MOVING VAN, get a Tourig. Even that is a misnomer. Most people who buy 4WD rarely go off road---its just nice having it. Same with Trunk Space. This is a Long Distance Commuter Car/Groceries Car that I plan to hawl an occasional additional passenger, MAX. If I'm hawling stuff, the rear seats fold flat. No Big. 2. Fugly Exterior. OK, so the exterior wont win any Beauty Contests. Its serviceable and conservatively styled...but wait until your critics SIT IN ONE!!! 3. RELIABITY This is the BIG ONE and possibly a DEAL BREAKER FOR MOST PEOPLE. First, Walk away from any 2009-2013 Tiguan if you do not have proof that Volkswagen had installed the revised Timing Belt Tensioner. The old one would jump its tracks and SHREAD YER ENGINE. Got an extra $8K to put in a new engine? I dont think so. My car had TWO High Side (Pressure) Fuel Pumps replaced within 40K miles (FYI Volkswagen uses T-W-O Fuel Pumps (Saddle Pumps) and the High Side is forever going out). The final warning is about all TURBO CHARGED engines, not just VolksWagen---its called Carbon Buildup with will require a trip to YE OLD REPAIR SHOP/ENGINE SHOP to remedy. If Reliability is important to you, get a 'plain Jane' Honda CR-V or a Toyota RAV4 or a Madza CX5. Me? For my needs, I wanted a plush CUV that hawls ask, gets reasonable gas mileage, is easy to park, has high tech and goes for under $10K used. I got a screaming deal on a 2013 Tiguan S $9999.00/45.3K miles (double Lease Return). I could drive the car for a year, sell her and make money. German Cars are not Japanese Cars---you throw away German Cars once they hit 100K miles whereas my 1999 Madza Miata has 240K miles and drives like she's brand new. Finally, there is the question of SHOPPING FOR CARS. Go to CarMax, kick some tyres & determine the CLASS & MODEL you want, then go to Car Guru or Auto Trader have have the dealers BID you their offering on a particular model. This is the 21st Century---nobody tolerates Salesmen, MGRs, Finance Guys & Closers or any outdated high pressure sales tactics anymore. I found my car, did a scatter graph with affirmed my purchase, test drove the car and paid cash for it. Not only was it the LOWEST COST/LOWEST VEHICAL---I made the dealer paint out all scraps & dings PLUS SEND A UBER DRIVER to drive me, one way, 100 miles to get the car!!!

New to VW - pleasantly surprised

Our family of 3 needed to get out of our Saab for mileage and reliability reasons, so we leased a Tiguan as VW has some really good lease deals and I wasn't ready to be married to a VW. We've been pleasantly surprised at how much we really like the car, even though it barely meets what we said we wanted - a SUV that gets at least 20 mpg in the city. It has much smaller cargo capacity than the others we looked at, but feels much larger in the rest of the car, especially in the back seat when extra cargo room isn't needed (most of the time) and the seats can go all the way back. Its got a nice, compliant ride and feels nimble. Has a much more premium feel than anything else in its range.

Sell Before You Hit 60,000 Miles

At approximately 60,000 miles, the engine started missing and the Check Engine Light (CEL) came on. Dealer told me that it was "due to a problem with the fuel injection system, the valves become coated with carbon causing the misfires." Cost to clean the valves was $600.00 plus tax. At approximately 92,000 miles, the car overheated and had to be towed in. Dealer found the thermostat had failed. Unfortunately, the thermostat is built into the water pump and the entire unit had to be replaced. That bill was just under $1,300.00 plus towing and three days of car rental. At 122,000 miles the CEL came on and the misfires started again. While driving to the dealer, the EPC light came on. Dealer reported that not only did the valves need cleaning but that the "shaft pulls out of intake manifold for the intake flap". That's exactly what they wrote on the service description, just jibberish". Whatever it meant, it required a new intake manifold. The entire bill was $1,360.00 plus two days of car rental. Picked up the car and drove off the lot when the CEL started flashing and the car stalled. Limped it back to the Dealer. Dealer called the next day to report that the spark plugs and ignition coils needed to be replaced. Cost $365.00. When I told the rep that the plugs had just been replaced, I was told that sometimes spark plugs fail earlier than they should. I requested that they replace the coil and the spark plug for the cylinder with the misfire so that I could limp it off the lot to the nearest Honda dealer for a trade-in. My last two cars were Hondas and I drove both of them right up to 250,000 miles without a single failure in either car. I'll never buy another VW. For the record, I found out that not only do the valves need regular cleaning but the rear seals frequently fail on these engines so watch for that expense as well.

Lots of power,Drives positive like a sports car, went on a trip using premium fuel 31mpg hiway Chilliwack Volkswagon(keith) gave me a great deal and there are quite a few other Tiguans around now so I assume others have had a great deal also! I talked to someone complaining about lugging but it is supposed to keep it in the highest gear possible to keep the RPM's down to save fuel (it is doing what it is supposed to do lol!)

This is my third and favorite Volkswagen. My first was a '95 Jetta, then a '07 4Motion Passat Wagon, and now this 2013 Tiguan. The interior is well laid out and comfy. The giant sunroof is just cool. This small crossover SUV has some trade-offs with my previous wagon. It's tallness makes it easier to maneuver in the city, but it's smallness means it doesn't feel as solid and smooth over the studded tire ruts on the freeway. After two longer highway trips I'm used to it and wouldn't go back. The transmission holds a low gear when you crest steep hills. It's a little noisy and strange at first, but works well to keep the car from accelerating rapidly at the crest of the hill.

I've had my Tiguan for just over a year. It's a nice car in many respects, and is more stylish and peppy than its competitors. The main problem is that, at certain speeds, the engine vibrates and causes an irritating, moaning noise. VW told me there is no solution because they program the automatic transmission to run at low RPMs as a way to improve fuel mileage. It's annoying enough that I really don't enjoy driving the car and will probably trade it in for something else.

The Tiguan a nice car in many respects, but the automatic transmission shifting is awful. It frequently shifts into too high a gear causing the engine to lug and vibrate. Then it shifts back down, only to try shifting back up again later. It was benign enough during the test drive, but the vibration noise and constant shifting becomes really annoying over time. This problem persists in newer models because it's VW's way of reporting better fuel mileage than the car actually gets under real world conditions.

Bought our 2014 Tiguan R-Line and love it! The rear cargo room is a bit small and I was super nervous about rear leg room if the trunk was that small but it was more roomy than a 2014 Escape! I was amazed! Leather seats are comfy and the memory seats are great too! Off the line, there is about a full second of turbo lag but after that, it's gone. Engine sounds throaty and has a great exhaust note. We got 19mpg on mainly hwy driving which was disappointing but it's -10 where I live and I do accelerate hard on occasion, it also doesnt help that its not broken in! Paying 40 grand is a lot especially when it doesnt have a backup camera or sat/nav(extra options) but still a fantastic CUV

The interior is very comfortable with great features. Performance lags -- down right awful on hot summer day w/AC on. Not only does it guzzle down a lot more gas - expensive premium gas I may add but it becomes erratic when idling or in traffic. Try taking your foot off the brake when in traffic with the ac on and watch your car lurch forward without giving it gas. Not to mention the sound it makes while your foot is on the brake while the engine sounds like a helicopter hovering overhead.

I love my 2013 VW Tiguan S. It's build with quality, and great design on both the exterior and interior. With the manuel 6 speed transmission, the pick up and handling are excellent, which makes having to use premium gas much less painful. The engine is extremely quite and very responsive. Cargo room could be a bit more generous. Overall a great vehicle!

I am a faithful VW driver, 4 vehicles over the last 13 years. You either love em or hate em! I buy Volkswagons for German styling, fit and finish, and enjoyable driving experience. They fit a pricing niche above Toyotas and Hondas and below Audi and BMW.The Tiguan is a typical example of a stylish, functional and truly enjoyable vehicle. Among the reasons to enjoy a Tiguan, is not being one of every ten cars on the road being a CRV or a Rav4.

I bought this car to replace a Jeep Liberty with 215,000 miles on it. After much research I found a black VW Tiguan at Glenwood Subaru. It seemed to be the best deal for the amount I was looking to spend and I absolutely loved the model. After getting the car inspected by a local shop, it proved to be the best bang for my buck. Very reliable and it was in excellent condition. Couldn't be happier with my decision! From test driving to signing the final paperwork, it was the smoothest process and @subaru_jason (YouTube) was to thank for that. He not only made the process easy, he made it extremely fun and we had lots of laughs throughout the couple days we got to work together! I would definitely recommend Jason Arrington if you're in the market for a Subaru, or whatever else they may have in the lots. You won't regret it. Thanks again to Jason and GW Subaru for helping me acquire my dream car! #subaru_jason

My fiance wanted an SUV via a lease, I wanted a CC. Knowing we couldn't afford both, the Tiguan was the perfect domestic compromise. I've seen in many reviews how the Tiguan is a poor value and I absolutely disagree. We wanted AWD, Sunroof, Bluetooth, a peppy engine, fuel efficiency, and a reasonable payment. The Tiguan S delivered on all these save fuel efficiency (20/26 awd is passable and not a deal-breaker). The SEL may have a bloated price, but the base S is definitely a good value. The Tiguan's 2.0 TSI is a great engine. The car feels sporty but also compliant over rough roads. The cargo room leaves much to be desired, but living in the city the maneuverability is quite welcome

The VW TIGUAN is not too big and not to small outside & is roomy enough to fit all but the Tallest passengers in the back seat comfortable. The engine is very quiet & smooth yet acceleration is more than adequate to merge quickly to freeway speeds. The turbo helps driving up steep roads and inclines a breeze.

I got a GREAT DEAL on a Lease Return so That effects my opinion of the Vehicle 🚗. With that said, let us decide it’s quirks: (a) The Tiguan does not like the cold. The car will appear lifeless and groans/ makes funny noises when her temp is under 190F (b) The electronic sensors are Possessed!!! Without explanation Idiot Lights/Sensors come on and then go out upon restarting (c) Do not drive the car without a Jump starter in the trunk. Since virtually everything is electrical in this car your Tiguan won’t fire up without a fully charged battery. I have been stranded TWICE in a single day with a dead battery, once having listenened to three lousy songs on the CD Player. For $100 pick yerself up a NOCO Genius Jump Starter!!!

I bought this 2013 VW Tiguan in November 2020 with 62,000 miles on it. It looks, drives, and rides like new. I had to find a car in a hurry, and tried this on a whim just because it was in my price range. I'd never even been in one, but was very impressed. Since it was only the second car I'd looked at, I took a couple of weeks to look at more, but kept coming back to it. My husband said I was nuts not to buy it! I did and am glad. The size is just right, and both my husband (5'11") and I (5'1") can find perfect driving positions. The visibility is wonderful all around, unlike others that have upswept side windows and small back windows. It has great pick-up after the initial lag, excellent handling, and a quality, but not plush, interior. The controls are intuitive and not confusing like those of some newer vehicles. Absolutely love the heated seats! I like the "stiff" ride, and the AWD is great. I've driven it in heavy snow and slippery roads twice so far this winter, and it hasn't strayed once. Gas mileage isn't fantastic, but I don't put a lot of miles on a car, so I'm fine with that. The SE has just enough bells and whistles, but not too many. I do wish it had the back-up camera, but I plan on adding that.

The VW Tiguan is good, attractive design inside and out. Seats fit great and feel tight and safe. Visibility from drivers seat is good. Built very well: materials and design are excellent for the price of the SUV. Performance of the TSI is superb. The only thing I do not like about the VW Tiguan is the road noise when on most highways going at 60-70 MPH. Ride is great and comfort is great. VW intentionally has more road noise because they do not add the extra weight that comes with sound proofing their autos. The weight causes gasoline milage to go lower so they opt for better milage.

I've had my 2013 Tiguan for 2 months now and the new car shine is wearing off. The car is under powered and lacks any pep. Conversely, to another reviewers comments about the weird shifting being improved. It must have been really bad in the past because my Tiguan really shifts weird, especially on hills. The Tiguan suffers from an issue in the 4Motion control in that it cannot distinguish between a steep hill and unsafe driving conditions. The car slows down dramatically taking away acceleration control up/down on steep hills. Not a car for the mountains!

Bought 2014 Tiguan in May. Have driven 9700 km in 3 mos., mostly hwy driving. Previous 3 yrs drove a JEEP Grand Cherokee Overlander. Disliked it lagged when speeding up to pass a car. My 2004 Toyota 4-Runner had awesome pickup! Tiguan's has good pickup. I drive 13 hrs, & found I couldn't stretch my legs, so my left knee would stiffen & bother me. Putting my seat back, made me too far away. I'm 5'3". Vehicle went in for oil change Aug 6. It drove perfectly prior; after it shakes like I'm driving in an earthquake at 80 km/hr and gets worse by 100 km/hr (60mi/hr). It feels dangerous to drive now. Taking it back in Monday morning to rectify whatever is the problem.

Don’t buy one. (that’s period). My Ram Ecodiesel gets 5mpg better, still has original tires (Tiguan is on third set of $1500 Michelins at 47 k). Rear window spontaneously blew into thousands of pieces last summer (I was standing behind it, had been in parking lot in tx summer and parked it in our garage; exited vehicle and heard a “pop”...just disintegrated!). In the state of TX, must get car inspected prior to registration each year...took it to vw lewisville @ 47k to take care of inspection and 50k service. Dealer called to say upper contol arm and bushings shot at over 500 bills per side. Tigger has had four thrust alignments due to my concerns about tire wear (wondering if it is four motion related), but each time alignment is “green”. Going to open a lemonade stand and wring this damn car dry!

I don't even know where to begin with this POS. Honestly, had a true honeymoon phase with this car in the beginning. Everything was great, everything was problem free. I bought the car used at 56k miles. I got about 2 years of this car being good to me. Then it said, "GOOD LUCK!" and decided to become my worst nightmare. First, the turbo went, gas mileage fell and performance overall was just not fun. I do not quite remember how much the turbo cost to fix. But, I'm in college-everything is expensive. Then, it was leaking oil. Nobody could find the issue but my oil kept disappearing to the point I was getting very loud knocking and sputtering. GREAT! Then, out of nowhere, the speakers stop working. I have one speaker in the rear passenger door that works still. Let's be clear; I've never put volume above 12. The base level, off-brand sound system is crap anyways, loud music sounded horrendous. Then, AGAIN, OUT OF NOWHERE, a rust crack starts to appear on my passenger door. Just started to grow one day. I have no idea why, there was never a dent or crack. After that I was plagued with a leaky tire for god knows what reason. I replaced the tire three times. I'm assuming it was a problem with the rim. Still, why were there no problems with a leaking tire for the first two years, and then all of the sudden?? I don't parallel park often but when I do, it's fantastic. Not a single thing on gods green earth has touched this rim while I have owned it. Next Chapter: engine misfiring at 80,000 miles. Now the grand reveal; LEAKING SUNROOF. A problem so persistent in these cars yet NOBODY seems to talk much about it. I am talking about pushing my hand down on the floor and water pooling up to above my wrists. Apparently, it is a faulty drain tube that shrinks with age and breaks. Many have noted that a fix is not a permanent fix and it is very time-consuming and EXPENSIVE (they quoted me starting at $2000 just to take the car apart and find the source) if taken to the dealer who are the only people who 100% know how to do it. There may be some other fanatics out there that can do it. So, you can only imagine that this leak has caused extensive electrical problems. Power seats don't work, heated seats don't work, airbag failure light is on, tire pressure failure light, backup lights went out, traction control failure. I'm sure there is more to come. Now, I have taken this car in early every time it needed an oil change, never let a warning light go unchecked, did necessary mileage maintenance, even did extensive washing on winter days when there was a lot of salt on the ground, always used gas over 91. I WINED and DINED this car. Zero reward. Also; no, the rust issue and speaker issue happened long before my car was a victim of self-induced flooding. The car has literally been falling apart piece by piece. I hate it. I hate it so much. And one more thing: it's pretty cheap looking. When it's new and clean, sure, it has a certain appeal. Once it's lived in, it looks terrible. Small seats, metal brackets showing everywhere, plastic everywhere, just terrible. Willing to pay someone to steal it.

The Tiguan was in poor condition when we met. It had been mistreated and neglected and to date it has cost me nearly $10,000 to make it roadworthy. It is a well-built vehicle and now it drives nicely and behaves. One must find an honest repair shop (best is a VW dealer or approved shop) to have even oil changes performed. I still need to spend $600 or more for other repairs and if it is really worthwhile an additional $2,500 to address cosmetic issues, some of which were the result of inept mistakes by a large VW/Audi dealership. One above repair was for the replacement of both water pumps to correct a longstanding problem of coolant issues. To start with, the woman car sales person who sold me the Tiguan lied to me about why a vibration cropped up when doing a test drive. The eventual corrective action was to replace the front suspension parts, done at my expense . On the positive side, the Tiguan drives well for its size with four new quality 'General' Performance Season tires. The front seats are well made of quality material - either leather or leatherette. A caution for anyone who buys a current VW and especially SUVs is to read and heed the Driver's Manual as it provides special instructions on how to care for Volkswagens. I have had five Volkswagens. A 1956 Beetle - a great car, two Karmann-Ghias - also good cars, a much used and neglected 1970 Squareback, which served me well and which I believe was one of the best VWs ever made. I wish had kept the 1956 Beetle - a truly fine car which had a lot of 'charm'.

Great SUV but the cargo space is quite lacking compared to the competition (50% less space!). The wheelbase also makes for a choppy ride on rougher roads. Wish that VW would make the Tiguan longer so that it would give a more comfortable ride (both in interior space and road manners).

I will be honest with you, I'm a Ford guy. But the wife came home with the Tig and at first I was pretty impressed. Quick little car, nice interior, great on gas. That was 20,000 miles ago. Now, if I knew more about the crash test ratings I would put the "peoples car" out of its misery. Moved from Texas to Michigan, apparently, our vehicle didn't appreciate the cold. According to VW, the EPC went out due to weather. $900 for replacing and again, due to weather, this time humidity, EPC out again. According to VW, "a number of vehicles are experiencing this type of difficulty, but not more than half." [non-permissible content removed].
