Used 2017 Toyota Tundra Consumer Reviews
Loving my Tundra
We bought our 2017 5.7 SR5 double cab Tundra new on June 9th 2017, so I think I can do a review now. I absolutely love my truck for reasons that were important to me: dependable, reliable and affordable ($32k out the door), although affordable is in the eye of the beholder, but compared to The F-150, 5.0L, Chevrolet Silverado 1500 5.3L and Ram 1500 5.7L which all start around $50k. I’ve read and reviewed several Tundras that achieved 800,000 to 1,000,000+ miles with their original engine and transmission, and with all respect I don't believe the others could make that claim without rebuilding or replacing the engine and or transmission. I owned a new 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 5.3L for 16 years and I have to say I enjoyed the first few years but it was constantly needing some sort of repair. Right off the lot the main computer fried, later the alternator short circuited, radio fried, rear brakes froze, rear window defrost broke as did the plastic frame around the window, front shocks leaked and many other things. Only reason we held on to it was we never paid so much for a truck and many of these things happened during the warranty period. Although our tundra does not have all the bells and whistles I don’t miss them nor will I miss them Braking. As to some saying it’s bad on gas, my Avalanche had a 5.3L 268 horsepower and got 11-12 mpg towing out 19’ camper, the Tundra is 5.7L 368 horsepower and I get 12-14 mpg towing the same camper. I look forward to at lease 25 years of great service out of my Tundra with regular service 😊

Toyota Tundra SR5 TRD Package
Nice truck, handles well, comfortable, smooth ride. Only thing missing is a few bells and whistles that are on comparable Ford/Chevy trucks. No turn signals in mirrors, no power rear window, no dual climate controls. These were standard on my old 2010 Toyota Tundra 4X2. It would have been nice to have these, but I gave them up for the long term benefit. I expect my Tundra to last a lot longer than the other pickups on the road. Too bad Toyota cut back on these on this model, you have to get the Limited, Platinum to have these included. Fuel economy is not as good as the other pickups on the market, but I didn't buy it for fuel economy. Otherwise very happy with the purchase.

A Real Truck For Work & Pleasure
The Tundra is a fantastic truck. Quiet ride with a smooth enigine and transmission. Recently I towed my 3500lb trailer and the Tundra was steady and strong. Towing mileage was around 10-10.7, similar to other trucks that boast better mileage. We drove the truck on a 150 mile trip and our mileage was 17.4 mpg on the trip and when we were driving around after the trip it got as high as 18 mpg. Features are comparable for the most part with other trucks in the same price range. Some of the features are not best in class like the radio but I might upgrade it. The Tundra overall is very tough competition for any truck. I traded a 2012 Toyota 4Runner and I got more that 75% of what I paid orginially. Try getting that from one of the other truck brands. I love the ride and driving the truck. We are even considering taking the truck on a long trip because it's so comfortable. Value and quality is what I like to get when I buy something and the Toyota Tundra is all that!

2017 toyota tundra
before looking at Toyota i went to ford and test drove the 2017 F150 and altho ford has came a long way i still like the way toyota tundra drives and handle better expecialy on ice this truck refuses to slide side to side in two wheel drive or four wheel drive one of the things I was looking for as my wife and all three of our kids would be in this truck I would say as safe as you can get I get great gas mileage made a trip from mid MO to Houston TX I did not get great gas mileage there do to wanting to get the drive over with and really putting my foot in it but on the way back with a trailer carrying a motorcycle I got 600 miles to the tank cant beet that very spacious I have a son that is 6'2 and he has plenty of leg room in the back seat as in the F150 he had to sit uncomfortable I am sold on this truck very great people to work wit has well I am now a Toyota fan and will buy tundra for my trucks from now on

I love Toyotas!
If you want a truck that will last you well past 200K miles, this is the one for you. Vehicle reliability is key for me and is why I haven't bought any other brand since early 1990s. It is also the primary reason Toyota trucks hold their value. Features on the Limited are nice and the ride is civilized. To me, it doesn't feel like a truck. Take a look at all of the space in the CrewMax cab and you won't be disappointed. Leg room for the back seats is huge!
