Used 2010 Toyota Prius Consumer Reviews
Meets our Needs, Expectations
Great for mountain roads at high altitudes. Great 0-60 acceleration Plan to have passenger seat ADA modified for tall passengers.
Worst car I’ve ever owned (and I’ve owned an MG)
This car is a toy. It is unreliable and almost impossible to work on. The mileage when it runs is great but don’t expect much from it. The 12v batteries are expensive and fail often.

Beware if you go out of town
We went away for l2 days. Car stone dead when we came home. Couldn't even get into the car. Called AAA and they charged it. Drove to local dealership and also called Toyota. Have learned that if you leave the car for more than 10 days you have to go thru an elaborate process to unhook the battery, use the emergency key to get into the vehicle and then get it jump started. Where? at the airport parking lot? Toyota says we should have known this. It is not in the manual. A real drawback. Also seats not comfortable.
Buy this model
Purchased our 2010 Prius II this August. Here's what we found: 50 -52 mpg below 60 mph 46 - 49 mpg at sustained 70-75 mph. Rides/feels like a much bigger car. Lots of passing power due to electric motor kicking in. Top speed - 115 mph (rock steady, but wife whimpering). Good storage space; well planned. Pick a small Toyota dealership and don't pay for all the nonsense and gimmicks on the III, IV models. Or wait for the Prius I to come out. You'll like this car, no disappointments.
