The Last Shall Be First

I'm over 80 so I know this will be my last car purchase. The quality of this car is excellent. One complaint would be with the horsepower (128), since I've always liked to 'step on it'. The storage space is well thought out. The display needs a switch to light it up for daytime viewing. I am very happy with my purchase and would do it over again if I had to buy another car.

Stylin' Ride, but a few minor bugs

I bought the automatic (wife insisted) so was expecting it to be sluggish, but it zipped along nicely. Well designed, but initial quality not great. The trash compartment under the gear shift would pop open with the slightest bump. Also the cover for the manual release button for the transmission was missing when I bought the car. I asked 3 sales people about the cover, they all said there was no cover. Also I just noticed the display panel is abraded in a circular pattern, like it was scrubbed. So nice little car, lots of features, but I was expecting better initial quality from Toyota.

Very versatile

This car was a great all 'round vehicle. Had great power for a four banger. The power surge felt great after 600 RPMs, enabling the driver to pass lickety-split. The boxy design took getting used to, but grew to love it. The 6 speed tranny was notchy, but I grew accustomed to it. Very good gas mileage considering the power, lower 30s on road. Great reliability. Had a ton of room when back seat was down, and the back was easy to clean, 'cause it was plastic instead of carpeted. Seats very comfy, even on long trips. Only reason I got rid of it was because of high payments and I needed an AWD vehicle. Still miss it.

What an absolutely superb vehicle! As far as the looks go, it looks much better in person than the photos. This is a real head-turner that has great lines and a sporty look. The interior is super cool. everything looks sporty and is in a convenient location. It has a lot of very cool features. The ride is excellent and smooth. I feel that it does have a very nice burst of power. This car is surprisingly roomy. Overall it is a real "Home Run" for Toyota. I highly recommend it to anyone

I have not enjoyed owning and driving a car as much since I had to give up driving my Celica 12 years ago. This car zips through the Vermont ice and snow without any effort and takes the mud season without a thought! It's a great car to drive and very, very comfortable. It has lots of space in the back seat for sitting and holds a lot also when I am hauling things.
