Used 2003 Toyota Matrix Consumer Reviews
Very Happy, a Few Minor Problems
Overall I am very happy with this car, but I am only going to list the problems I have with it since mindlessly praising Toyota isn't very constructive. The problems are: 1)Suphur smell coming from the engine, I can get rid of it though by selecting recirculating air. I'm not sure whether this is because of the gas I am buying or the Matrix. This only occurs when I am idling with the Matrix pointed up on a hill. 2)There is a intermittent sound of sand coming from the driver side dash. 3)High idle RPM's. Starting the Matrix even when it is above freezing can result in RPM's over 2000 for at least a minute, it also flucuates quite a bit for no reason.
excellent
i've driven other cars like bmw and mercedes, but maybe i'm too young, matrix is the most fun car!

GREAT MODEL
It was love at first site. I like everything about this car. The Matrix was built especially for me. I sat on the driver's seat and all the controls, panels, storages were right where they should be. I can control the radio without sluching forward. All the compartments are near. Thoughtful desing, space to put the quarters for toll, space to put my cups, great visibility, ample interior...
Fun to Drive/Great MPG
The Matrix XR 5-Speed is a wonderful car: fun to drive, excellent gas mileage (35 mpg average so far), comfortable, lots of storage.
I'd buy another one
Perfect for a small size family. We are very please with the way it handles. What we paid for it was very reasonable, it came fully loaded. People complain about red lights, I find them very atractive and easy to read.
