Pretty Happy
Got my Highlander Limited in December, and so far I love it. It was change coming from a luxury brand but the trade-offs were totally worth it. I purchased the Highlander mainly to transport my family (2 and 4 legged) and still have some room left over. I have been able to do so with no issues. The ride is fantastic and the gas mileage is actually pretty good. I took it on a 1500mi round trip expedition over the holidays and on the first day I filled up twice, which was surprising for a full sized SUV. On the way back, the weather sucked (snow) and I was in 4WD most of the way, however I only filled up three times.
HIghlander Happiness
I've had my Highlander for over 3 years. I've had no issues. It's a great vehicle and I can use the third row to haul extra kids or put those seats down and carry lots of stuff. My only issue is when the third row is being used, there is almost no storage space behind the third row.

2013 Highlander
Bought in September 2013. Definitely has trouble staring in winter??? Makes an excessively loud humming noise in cold weather coming from the transmission. Noise disappears after vehicle has warmed up. Ride is adequate - steering too loose. Not what I was expecting in a vehicle at the price.
GREAT SUV!
Great riding and handling suv! Comfortable ride engine very quiet. Easy access and good in inclement weather. Very satisfied by buying this vehicle. Body style better than 2014 version
Hard to Believe it’s Nine Years Old
It was an exhaustive search but I landed on this generation Toyota Highlander. I’ve always been a Toyota man but wanted to make sure I wasn’t blinded by loyalty. I wasn’t and I’m glad! When it comes to driving, it’s quick, smooth, and cushy. I tend to skew more towards a isolated, luxurious ride than a sporty one. The Highlander gets this right. The V6 was probably the best engine on the market at the time. Reliable, powerful, refined, and efficient. The exterior has an ageless quality that I absolutely love. The mid-cycle facelift done in 2011 was a big help here. Absolutely beautiful vehicle especially in the Nautical Blue Metallic! The interior is attractive and utilitarian. Typical Toyota. My only complaint is the deep well gauges. I’ve never really been a fan of those. But that is a small gripe. I do wish it had more safety features such as the blind spot warning. These were becoming more common at the time and Toyota finally included them in the next generation. Overall, I’m incredibly pleased with this vehicle as it’s safe, reliable, and spacious, a perfect fit for my family of five. I’d recommend it to anyone!
