Used 2015 Toyota Corolla Consumer Reviews
Love the car, dislike warranty!
I have always driven Corollas, this is my third. The other two were base models, this is an S-Plus. My car was a year old when I purchased it, had 17,000 miles at time of purchase. Everything is great on it except a problem where the Traction Control light came on along with the steering becoming loose and the wheel developing a 45-degree tilt to the right. It has been in 2, going in next week for a 3rd, time to try and fix the issue. It usually is solved for a week or so and the same issue returns. Toyota insists this is not their fault and is not covered by the warranty when clearly it keeps returning and is an electrical or mechanical issue. They say to fix it permanently I'd have to pay out of pocket with an estimate of as much as $3,000 which I absolutely do not have. It's not a safety issue per Toyota but in winter with ice and snow I would feel more comfortable if my traction light worked not to mention uneven wear on the tires. This problem really upsets me as Toyota should fix it and I cannot afford to. The rest of the car is good- reliable, brakes are great, very nice looking- it is still a new car, it should not be having the steering issue. Toyota: Please cover all of these Corolla S with this same steering issue! I am a loyal Toyota customer but am angry wtih your handling of this situation.

Great Value
I cross shopped the Corolla, Ford Focus, Mazda3 and Honda Civic. With incentives, the Corolla was the best value in a fully loaded compact. This is my eighth Toyota or Lexus product and the previous seven have been bullet proof mechanically.

Fun and reliable
I recently traded in my Hyundai Tucson for a 2015 Corolla LE. The ride and features are far better. The Hyundai looks nice but in comparison to Toyota's they look and feel so cheap especially from the inside. The Corolla has lots of leg room in the front and back. The Corolla accelerates smoothly and maintains speed. On the highway, I have been getting over 40 mpg and when on cruise control its even higher. I love this car. The controls on the steering wheel are easy to use for changing radio stations and I really like the car screen that allows you to see exactly your mpg at the time. It handles curves really nice even at higher speeds. The ride is smoother and quiter than the Tucson . I know it's not a luxury car but it does feel like it. The quality is outstanding. I was looking for a safe and reliable car to get to and from school and something safe for my 6 year old and I. I really love it and I can't say that enough!

Engine blew at 58,000 miles, no warranty
We have a 2015 Toyota Corolla that we purchased a year and a half ago. Previous owner did routine maintenance, as we always have as well. Regular oil changes and tire rotations, etc. Last week the check engine light popped on with no other symptoms and when we took it in a couple days later (after not driving it at all after the light came on) the car overheated a few min away from the mechanic. We assumed a simple radiator issue, but got a call the next day that it was a blown engine gasket and needs a new engine. Our mileage is under the 60,000 warranty but we are 6 weeks outside the 5 year timeframe. So Toyota will not do anything to assist with the replacement. Even the dealership mechanics were absolutely shocked that this happened and shocked that Toyota is refusing to give any goodwill coverage since we are under the mileage and barely outside the time limit. And the factory Toyota supervisor basically laughed in my face and was super sarcastic when we asked what could be done. I would think twice before buying this year or a Toyota in general. They aren’t the reliable cars they used to be. You could get stuck with a $6000 engine replacement only a few years in and Toyota will tell you to go pound sand if you ask for them to stand behind their product. This will be our last Toyota after many years of being loyal Toyota customers.

Pluses and minuses
This is my third Corolla. All were bought new. The first, a 1990 that lasted about 200k. I have a 2006 that has nearly 160k, and runs super. The 2006 is my best drivingCorolla, after comparison. The 2006 tracks well. The 2015 doesn't. Is it because of thinner tires, or the wheel base? The 2006 body has a more solid feel. Thinner steel in the 2015? It could be just my impression. 2015 cabin and instrument panel blows 2006 away. Great improvement. I hate the CVT tranny. Engine over-revs. The 2006 takes off like a bullet. The 2015 is unresponsive. On a hill, the engine sounds like it's in neutral, over-revving. Blind spots over left shoulder, no camera to compensate. Rear-view mirror too small.
