Used 1998 Toyota Corolla LE 4dr Sedan Consumer Reviews
toyota reliable...not the case here
I bought my corolla new in 1998. I've had nothing but problems with it. I only have 82000 miles and I've had to replace the starter, water pump, battery 3 times, struts twice, front brake pads at least 6 times, rotors 3 times, new calipers, rear brakes twice, tires every two years, poor front suspension, don't feel in control of car. Burns oil (a quart every 600 miles appx) The headliner is disentegrating and the interior plastic around the doors is brittle and falling apart. Airbag light constantly flashes and rear seat very uncomfortable (bottoms out). Bought Toyota thinking I'd have it for a long time. NOT! My Hyundai didn't give me this much trouble. Worst car I've ever owned.
Good Car for the price
I bought This car about three weeks ago So far its great, Excellent Fuel Economy. Concerned about paint thats chipped less than a 1/4 inch on the center of the door, Other wise the car is great. I've Changed the stock streo to a new sony in-dash cd player and sounds great with the stock speakers. I would recommend this viechle to anyone in any age range.
Reliable Reliable Reliable a little fun
This is the ideal car. A little fun to drive, quiet, comfortable. I upgraded tires which really improves ride and handling. Best value, these things run forever with basic preventative maintenance...
Love it!
Bought the car used two years ago and beside regular maintenance, I have had a pleasurable experience. It is a nice looking car which has kept its value over the years.
168,000 and still strong
We bought this car new. My wife had it, then my daughter and now it's my turn with 168,000 miles on it. Still rides like new but gas tank lever is broken, hood latch sticks, and it uses about 1 qt of oil every 1100 miles. It is about the most reliable car we have ever had other than our Toyota RAV4.
