I went with dependable for the last time
I recently purchased a Camry XSE. I was really attracted by the gas mileage claims. 28 city, 39 Hwy. Coming from 14-15 MPG, I was excited by the savings. I have had the car for almost 2 weeks and have not gotten it above 17MPG combined. Their Entune system is almost pre-historic. It disengages while driving and when it's parked. I am constantly reloading the apps on my phone and then have to reload the apps to the system (Pandora, etc). It takes 20-25 minutes each time. This happens 3-4x a day. I also went with the red leather seats. These are already "wrinkling" on me. It looks like I've had the car for a few years. I have spoken with Toyota on both issues. I was told that my phone is not compatible with the car, but they are not willing to compensate the cost of a phone that is. The leather seats have been determined that that is the way they are going to look. There is or will be nothing to correct the situation. Another warning. Their 3 yr/36,000 mile "bumper to bumper" warranty is only on products made by Toyota. Not the seats. Not the computer system and etc. I would not recommend this or any other Toyota to anyone considering getting one.

After 340 miles???
We are long time buyers and lessees of Toyota vehicles. Our 2015 camry lease was up so naturally we got a 2018 SE. First indication tire pressure warning light came on. Checked, everything ok. By the end of the 3rd week of possession all the warning lights came on and stayed on. Check engine malfunction-pre-collision system malfunction-secondary collision brake system malfunction-power steering malfunction. Do not drive, contact dealer immediately. Car towed to nearest dealer. After 4 hours problem could not be determined. They are contacting Toyota. Needless to say we are in a rental. After 340 miles this is not setting well on us. Stay tuned..

Toyota Camry doesn't live up to its reputation!
I purchased the Camry in November, 2017 because I had heard and read about the Camry being a very reliable car. Much to my disappointment, surprise and frustration, I don't agree with this assessment of the car. The biggest problem is the Entune 3.0 system that the music and GPS are supposed to run through. After ongoing problems with Entune, for the first several weeks after buying the car and getting different answers every time I called the Toyota customer service number, I took it back to the dealer, so they could check it out. After 3 hours of trial and error, I was told Entune and the latest operating system on the iPhone are not compatible. Didn't anyone know this!?!? I have continued to be in touch with Toyota and continually get lame excuses, such as, "We're waiting for Apple to fix it." If Toyota can afford Super Bowl ads and daily ads on TV, they should be able to afford to pay Apple enough to make it worth Apple's time to fix the problem, or Toyota should come up with a replacement product that works. It is too bad the lemon laws don't apply to this Entune issue because all of us have paid lots of money for a car with a system that doesn't work, and Toyota should provide a solution. I don't understand how they can continue to sell these cars, knowing this entertainment system doesn't work on all phones. Also, the few intermittent times it has worked, the GPS is the worst I've ever used. Toyota does not deserve the reputation of being reliable. Besides the Entune system not working, I have found some parts of the car to be very flimsy. The little container for change has already broken, and the visor doesn't stay firmly against the ceiling, but within the first few seconds of placing it there, it ends up hanging straight down and in my way. I have purchased many new cars during my lifetime, and this has been the worst experience ever.

Better Technology Upgrades!
Come on Toyota! My husband purchase this vehicle 2018SE last October (2017) , and we do agree with all the complaints of the technology issues. From the navigation to Entune especially, Toyota has fall short. Poor results! There is never a time when my husband can get any positive results from Entune. Please, please Toyota! Listen to your customer and do the necessary upgrades before coming out with the 2019 models! Overall, the look and feel of the vehicle is great, but as with all the complains it just means everyone would like to get where they are going using a reliable navigation system, and who would not like to be comfortable with a music app that is easy to work with?

Car has scraping problems
This car constantly hits bottom or rubs wheel wells on slightly bumpy roads. I'm talking small depressions in road and it scrapes! We took it to the dealer and they said nothing is wrong. The transmission hesitates on acceleration. I'm afraid to try to pass on a country road because of this! 2 yrs later. The scraping problem went away after several months. We finally added more air pressure to the tires than it said we should. It gets 40 mph and is great on long trips. It does sit pretty low and is hard to get in and out for older riders. Interior fabric is impossible to clean. Update! Tires contain Nitrogen instead of air so the pressure fluctuates in different temperatures. It's a pain but luckily Costco has a free pump outside for members during business hours. Otherwise the car has been a great buy and we keep our cars until they die of old age.

Entune 3.0/Scout GPS Suck
The Entune 3.0 and Scout GPS system is a very poor design. After many emails, I have determined that Toyota has no plans of fixing any of the Entune Scout issues. Great car but expect to use your smart phone by itself.

Great Car with bad transmission
I've wanted the 2018 Camry XSE since the first time I saw it. It took me about 3 months before I bought it, because I wanted to make sure I was making a good purchase. I paid a great price for my car and I find the car very good. It is very gas efficient, has many safety items, but there is something that is bothering me so much, that is the transmission. The gear changes are slow and accelerating the Camry soon after a slowing down is a terrible experience. The transmission is always hesitating to change gears. I complained about this problem with the Toyota Dealer and was given the "wonderful solution" to avoid using the ECO mode and always use the SPORT mode. I confess I was surprised that the solution given by the Toyota Dealer because I believe that Toyota Engineers are a little smarter and able to design a better transmission that my car has. I have prayed a lot for Toyota engineers to find a solution to this problem, otherwise I'll have to change my Camry for an Accord.

Navigation System Finally made Acceptable
My new Toyota has an "improved" navigational system. My old one used maps stored in the car so that they were never up to date. It would show me traveling across a field when it did not have any data for a newly constructed highway. The up-to-date system uses your cell phone to connect to a data server that stores the latest maps. The system on my Camry is the same as on the Lexus according to my dealer. Toyota issued a Bluetooth update that they labeled as for the Apple Phone. However my dealer said that they would not work on my Android Bluetooth until I had installed the update. But much to my surprise and delight, it fixed my navigation connection to the Android system. So now it works, I have two cell phones. The inexpensive one came with Android 7.0, a fairly recent operating system, OS. It connects properly with my car and the maps it displays also show on the display in the center of my dash. My expensive phone with the latest Android OS, 10, it now works. If you are shopping around for a 2018, one that uses your cell phone for navigation, make sure that it can connect to your phone before buying the car. I did not understand the issue and I have seen no online discussion of it. If I had, I would not have bought a Toyota.

Camry, our love affair's gone sour!
I've had Toyotas since owning and loving a Cressida in the 80's. But, Camry, you have faded away to a shadow of your former self. Your Scout GPS is all but broken, you rumble and squeak in your dashboard, you try to defrost but annoying condensation forms right along your windshield, and you drive me crazy with your dangerous glare/reflection in the sideview mirrors because your chrome dashboard trim. You've grown old, but not gracefully. A few new tricks like your auto-brake and sensors make you a dependable partner, and you've saved me a couple of times with your blindspot "vision". But between you and me, this might be our swansong (if I could get any music from Entune!)

Highly Disappointed
The Toyota Entune 3.0 stereo and entertainment system is pure junk. There are a lot of things about the 2018 Camry that Toyota doesn't tell you. I purchased my 2018 XSE fully loaded (or so I thought) for $36,500 brand new. Well by watching videos about the car on Toyotas website, they make it seem that if you have Nav and the Heads Up Display, that the turn by turn directions and A LOT of other things will display on the heads up display. What they DONT tell you is you have to purchase the Integrated NAV and the V6 in order to get those features. The USB ports in the center console are for charging only and will not let you play music from a Ipod or ANY data transfer in which numerous other manufactures do like Ford, Chevy, Honda, etc. The ECO mode makes the car feel like the transmission is slipping. The Entune 3.0 system is VERY picky on what phone you have and whether it will work with it or not. The wireless charging for your phone only works with certain Android phones. Even having the JBL top tier stereo, it still isn't up to par with the Harman Kardon system my Mini Cooper had. The Toyota safety features are very sensitive, but absolutely LOVE the radar cruise and birds eye view camera system. I have the panoramic roof and in my opinion, the moonroof doesn't open up enough. I have 300 miles on the car and it will be going back to the dealership to be left for days for them to try and figure out the Entune issues.

Toyota miscalculation
This vehicle is an XLE hybrid! I bought this vehicle fully aware that the phone based navigation was really HORRIBLE the scout Entune 3 does not work thanks to a recent Apple update. Toyota does not accept blame, blames Apple and Toyota will not fix!!! Do not get this vehicle! The inoperative Entune system problem and disregard of customers shows that Toyota is more concerned with profits than customers needs

love my 18
Traded in my 14 for the 18. Saw the new body style and fell in love. We went in to buy a 17 at low price with them trying to get rid of them for the end of season. After both my husband and I drove it, we both knew that the 18 was the way to go. Super easy to drive, comfortable seats, good handling. Still wont be driving it in the snow, as my husband is an loyal Subaru fan with the AWD. So we will be leaving the Camry in the garage in the winter and driving his Subaru. The Bluetooth in the Camry is great, super easy to set up. The cruise control is nice on highway trips, not having to keep adjusting the speed. I am in love with my 18 but can't wait to see what the 2022 is going to look it. We upgrade every 4 years, right now I wouldn't trade my 18 for anything.

Love my Camry! Except in the winter.
I few weeks ago I got a new 2018 Toyota Camry SE from a 2012 Camry XLE. I didn't think I would love the new Camry as much as I did my 2012, boy was I wrong. I would say if my dealership had the XSE I would of bought it, but I really didn't need it. However, the SE is just as amazing as the XSE and a few thousand cheaper. The ride itself is much smoother than my 2012. I was a bit bumbed no fog lights, but you don't need them with the auto high beam, which is super cool! Although dual climate control isn't required in my case, you would think it would be standard in a Camry. However, the blind spot monitoring, the radar cruise control and back up camera definitely outweigh the negative of no dual climate control. The radar cruise control is so cool. I still got my sunroof! I was disappointed the illuminated door sills could not be installed since Toyota did not add an electrical plug to connect to. So if you want this, it needs to be pre-installed as an option. I am at least able to upgrade from the black to the standard Camry. I am 5 foot and my husband is 6 foot, so the seat adjustment needed to be comfortable for both of us. This car is definitely comfortable for the both of us and is super soft! The layout takes some getting use too from the 2012. The entertainment system does not come with a CD player which is fine. As long as my Bluetooth works we are all good. Trunk space and access is amazing. Since I am short it is designed where I can actually reach stuff in the back of my trunk. Now, cleaning the inside back bottom part of the window, yeah impossible for me to reach. I will have to get creative or have someone with longer arms to clean it. I really like the way the back window is angled just cleaning will be hard. This car does have some bells and whistles that are great and convenient. The bottom line was the look of the SE, the comfort, drive, safety, color both inside and out, sun roof and Bluetooth. Everything else is a bonus. I do have to say gas mileage so far ranges from 25-35 but I only have 600 miles so far. Cruise control I get the best gas mileage. Overall, I am very impressed. I do get people staring at me, probably trying to figure out what it is. Lol. There was nothing wrong with my 2012 with 64,500 miles on it. My daughter needed to get out of her car so we did a trade 2 for 1. Worked in my favor because I get a new Camry. Update, snow, slush and ice the tires that came with the Camry are horrible in the winter. Traction control is almost always triggered from a stop to go. Often time just driving the traction control is triggered. I do need to take traction control off at times so I can move from being parked. Otherwise I can't even go. I absolutely hate driving my car when the roads in the winter are not cleared. I have no issues when it rains or the roads are just wet.

Sunroof Leaks
The Sunroof leaks, it has been in the service department 3 times. At first, they said it shouldn't leak, now, they say it is designed that way. They say they tested 2 other cars from the lot, and they also leaked. If you choose to buy a Camry, don't buy one with a sunroof... it will most likely leak.

Be VERY CAREFUL before buying this car... NO CD available... Navigation system STINKS... NO leather... You MUST pair your cell phone to this car if you want to listen to something other than radio, or if you want to use the navigation system with a map... If you don't have a cell phone or don't want one, YOU WILL HAVE TO BUY ONE... The seats are now SYNTHETIC LEATHER... If you don't know what SYNTHETIC LEATHER is folks, IT'S VINYL...

Gonna get a NO from me Dawg...
Well, I owned this car for 3 months and 1100 miles. I bought it new and took an absolute bath returning it to the dealer. $30k new $18k highest trade in value at 14, yes 14 different lots. Great resale Toyota 🙄. So, the final straw was the day it nearly got my daughter and I killed on the way to school. Google 18 Camry lagging transmission. It’s a real thing. It would take sometimes between 1-3 seconds, NOT KIDDING, to start moving forward when the gas was depressed. 3x in the first month Toyota had it and claimed “well, that’s how they all drive”.... Swell, so I pulled out into traffic on the way to school and it decided to take 3 seconds or more as a Trash truck careened into another lane to avoid killing us. A truck doing 45-50 mph travels a good distance in 3-4 seconds, the time i should have safely passed in front of and gone on my merry way. Not the case! On top of that, my safety systems never worked. I’d get a red message saying they were deactivated due to a dirty sensor. Well, I cleaned that sensor so good, the Pope himself would have eaten off of it. No dice. The “adaptive” cruise control doesn’t work in the rain. Nice touch Toyota 👍🏻. Lastly, atleast the last thing I will complain about because you get the drift, is Entune. Entune is a complete and total abomination!!! I bought a $30k car in 2018 that essentially has an AM/FM Radio. Wow. Thanks Toyota. I’ve moved to a Mazda CX-5 and this thing is light years ahead of that Camry in every measurable category. Goodbye Toyota. When my wife’s 18 Highlander lease is up, we will never own another Toyota.

Still the best value on the market....Great safety
My only disappointment is that Sirius/XM is not part of the standard radio. I had to purchase a Xm radio. I understand that in order to have XM, you must purchase a V-6 or order a 4 cyl with the XM radio as an option....very expensive.

Love the car, te sunroof leaks
I absolutely love everything about this car..................except the moon/sunroof. It started leaking water from the rain two and a half weeks after purchasing the car brand new. The dealership told me that's normal and they all do that. There were drops of water on the inside of the sunroof and the rubber seal was still wet the next morning after the rain had stopped. My girlfriend has a Ford Edge with a panoramic moon roof that has never leaked any water. Very unhappy with this.

Disappointed..
I was very excited for this vehicle and I have mostly loved this vehicle up until about two weeks ago.. I have had some issues with the car taking extra time to accelerate, and a few other issues like my phone not connecting to bluetooth or my contact pictures showing up for the wrong people when I make calls from my favorites list. I considered these issues minor because I love the look of the car, it mostly drives smoothly, and it is great on gas. However, about two weeks ago I headed up to the dealership for a routine vehicle service and on the way up there one of my tires burst! Mind you, I bought this car brand new near the end of August and this was in October. The dealership kept telling me it was my fault, and that I had hit something which caused the tire to burst. Then, they told me one of my other tires was close to bursting too, even though I clearly had not hit something on that one either! $570.00 later, I had two brand new tires on my brand new car and my alignment fixed (somehow was messed up when the tire burst?). When I told my husband what happened at the dealership, he spoke with one of his friends who bought the same model Camry from the same dealership and one of his tires had burst a few weeks before as well! I really want to love this car, but this situation is ridiculous to me. I had only owned used cars before this vehicle, and I never had any issues like this with any other car..

Great Car, SOLVED PROBLEM FOR TRANSMISSION ISSUES,
We had a 2011 Prius for the last 6 years and decided to check out the new cars. The Prius has been flawless. The Toyota dealer gave us a great deal on a new Camry in April, so we decided to sell the Prius and get the Camry. The gas mileage has been great, getting 41 or 42 mpg on a trip, all highway miles doing 75mph steady. We usually average around 35 with mainly in town use. I really regretted buying it until recently because of the transmission. Sometimes when you are stopped or nearly stopped and you suddenly accelerate to get into traffic, there's nothing there. It seems to be stuck in a higher gear, VERY frustrating. I got used to having to pull the transmission lever over into manual position in case it didn't shift into a lower gear to force it into a lower gear when accelerating from a stop or near stop. I recently talked to a salesmen at a new car show and discussed the problem I have been having. He said that the computer controlling the transmission learns your driving habits and responds to that, and he said to drive more aggressively. I started doing that immediately, and problem seems to be a little better. I don't "hot rod" it at all, just accelerate more quickly and the car responds so much better. The gas mileage hasn't seemed to change much since driving that way, maybe 1 or 2 mpg less. I think that driving a Prius for the last several years made me drive the Camry that way, but by doing that it tries to save gas by shifting into the higher gears to make it more economical, you can't do that. Overall a great car, but still miss the Prius some. Hate the new Prius body style since 2016, so won't buy one of those again unless they make them look more like a regular vehicle.. UPDATE November 2019 TRANSMISSION ISSUES SOLVED Current Mileage 31,000 The transmission still was not shifting as it should even driving it more aggresively. Still at times when leaving from a light or stop sign it would have not power and be in a high gear or something, very scary traffic coming and you are trying to accelerate quickly. I finally found the real reason the transmission was acting up. I talked to a service rep in our hometown and told him I wanted to see the service manager, he said he wasn't in that day. I told him my problem with the transmission and he asked if I drive with two feet, I said of course not. What I found out was that I always drove with only my right foot, BUT when sitting at a stop sign, light or waiting to merge into traffic at times I would hold the brake with my left foot. The car is programmed that if your brake light is on and you push the accelerator the car won't go hardly at all for safety reasons and it will lock itself into a higher gear or something. So I keep my left foot on the floor always and the transmission has never acted up once in the last 6 months!! I found myself frequently wanting to put my left foot on the brake after coming to a stop, especially when I was wanting to merge into traffic when the traffic was heavy especially. I love the car now after discovering that whereas before I despised it when the transmission kept acting up.

Not Recommended
Purchased a 2018 Camry XLE V6 pretty much fully loaded. Because of some significant items I would not purchase the vehicle again and don’t recommend it. (Revised 2019-02-13) First, the drive train is unacceptable. This is the forth Toyota vehicle I have had with the V6 engine, and the only vehicle in which the transmission both up and down shifts can be uneven and jarring. At times when the vehicle accelerates slowly by the driver gently depressing the gas pedal there is a noticeable pulsing of the vehicle acceleration. Doesn’t matter what mode the transmission is in. Dealer reset the vehicle computer so that the system can "re-learn" the driver inputs - no improvement. Second, the Radar Speed Control is poorly implemented and is a serious safety concern. If a leading vehicle turns off the road to the right the Radar Speed Control drops out and the vehicle brakes- and immediately after braking the brakes are then released - if the vehicle is on a hill it can start rolling backwards. This is a serious safety concern with the possibility of being rear-ended when there are following vehicles. Also, when using the Radar Speed Control and approaching stopped vehicles the Camry will continue at constant speed or accelerate until the only recourse is emergency braking. Additionally, when attempting to resume travel via the speed control there are instances when the speed control suddenly disengages. Dealer says speed control is working within specs. This disappointing, because I otherwise like the vehicle. It’s comfortable, has good performance and handling, 34 MPG when highway cruising at 70-75 MPH, I like the panoramic sunroof, it has a good sound system, I appreciate the automatic high-beam system, the heads-up display is good, good AC/heating, and I like the touch screen. Other less desirable items: This Lane Departure Control is not very useful. When the vehicle drifts toward a lane stripe the system does not alert the driver until the vehicle is significantly over the lane line and into the adjacent lane. If corrective action is taken by the system the vehicle swings from one side of the lane to the other side of the lane and never centers in the lane. Better than nothing, but … After remotely starting the Camry engine and then opening the car door, while in possession of the fob, the engine shuts off. If someone has the fob then they can do whatever they want – so why shut off the engine? We have many streets with a 25 MPH speed limit, but the Radar Speed Control will not set that low. The touch screen has a Valet mode to protect the screen and sound system and the glove-box can be locked and the key removed from the fob. But there is no way to lock the trunk and prevent entry when the Camry is given up for valet parking. (I believe previous Camrys had a trunk lock feature to disable opening the trunk with the fob?) Most other 2018-2019 vehicles with an active speed control will, after automatically braking when a leading vehicle stops, automatically resumes when the leading resumes its forward motion. Why doesn't Toyota includes this as a user option for the Radar Speed Control? Most items in today’s vehicle are software controlled. Toyota should provide software fixes for the transmission, the Radar Speed Control, lane departure, and remote starting. A minor hardware and software change to the trunk lock could probably fix the trunk valet issue. Don't like the high monthly fees for Toyota remote services once trial periods end.

The navigation system in the car doesn't work if you own an i phone. I have contacted the dealer and Toyota many times since I bought the car in November 2017. it's simply frozen and Toyota hasn't figured out how to fix it yet. No one is willing to help with this issue. I have owned three Camry's before this one and have been very happy with them in the past.

Ruined Camry's for me
There is a wind noise issue that is know about with this car. A wind/whistling sound coming from the driver side mirror. Some cars have it, others not. But good luck getting it taken care of. Was told "can't hear it" by 3 different dealerships. The new engine is louder than past Camry's. The car slams into gear after starting if you shift into reverse too fast. Never had that issue on any car I have owned in my life. Softex seat creaks against center console, only remedy was stuffing a wad of whatever between it. Bluetooth phone connect always briefly disconnected. Cannot turn radio down at all after starting it, need to wait 10 seconds or so to be able to. Really, really embarrassing depending whats on. . . . It is an attractive car, and fun to drive. I traded mine in less than a year after purchase for a RAV4. Glad I did.

Dysfunctional Panaromic Roof one week after purcha
I was super excited when I bought this car for my wife, but the excitement lasted only for 7 days. The panoramic moon roof stopped working and stayed open on a freezing night of 5F. It was super frustrating as I could hardly get hold of any Toyota dealer or Toyota Motor Corp itself. Update: Toyota tried replacing the roof and did various repairs but in vain. After 4 attempts, they had taken the car back under lemon law and paid me back the EMIs I had paid far.

Bogus sticker mileage
Engine throttle response poor dead pedal first 1/4 depression UNSAFE ! Had rental while remote start was being installed same engine but next model up from se, throttle response was much better. Talked to service and he said next model has a better response. But was not willing to give reason why. Being a mechanic for 35 yrs. I believe upper models are programed to run better. Like the car but not happy with this problem or gas mileage. Suppose to get 39 mpg highway best I've seen is 27.4 not to happy about this sales pitch considering I was looking for good mileage.
Not impressed
Just purchased 2018 Camry SE lease. The car looks absolutely sharp no doubt about it. However, 1st off the entune 3.0 app. Is the worst junk ever designed it will not work on the Camry! The instrument panel is confusing, distracting and difficult to navigate the stereo is absolute "junk" with horrible sound, only 1 USB in the new model, console storage is tucked under the dash..wtf! The car shifts awkward as if the tranny is bad. The car is supposedly faster than prior years...hmmm... "not", my lease was up on my prior 2015 Camry and I should have kept it because that car was awesome with no complaints at all. Toyota, you had better start stepping up to the plate.. there is much better competition catching up with much better lease options and price tags! I have always been a Toyota man until now.

JUNK JUNK AND MORE JUNK!
I traded in my 2015 Accord EXL for this on impluse. My family has drove toyotas and we have always loved them, I had a corolla for 12 years and never an issue, so I was not concerned about my impluse decision. My Accord was a great car, I just didn't not like the uncomfortable seats in my Accord, the styling and comfort of the Camry along with the toyota reputation sold me. I wish I would have let the car be out longer, to see what others were saying before I bought this. Don't let the looks fool you. The car has a clumsy transmission that jumps around and searches for gears, if you have to jump on the gas it takes literally.. 2-3 seconds before it kicks in, so good luck pulling out anywhere in a hurry. The engine is loud and rattles like a 10 year old car. The gas door won't open if it's the least bit cold, I have had this happen several times this winter. There is no satelite radio, or cd player. The radio is of poor qaulity or the doors are not sure which but even when on low there is a rattle with the least bit of bass in a song. It is listed as having a precollision warning system. I have yet to see do anyting I am begining to think it's more for looks. My Accord would warn you when you were too close, this doesn't light up, slow the car or anyting. I basically think it's a feature that does nothing. I had a guy stop in front of me 2x on a 70 mph interstate, the car never made a noise, blinked, or reacted. The entertaiment system if that's what you call it is horribly setup, and not userfriendly in the least. It's very archaic. Over all I can say I am exteremly disappointed in this car. I feel that Toyota is hiding major flaws and cheapness in a pretty exterior and some nice interior materials, but once you begin to drive the car it's evident it's not anyting close to an Accord, nor ever will it ever be. If Honda had not ruined the exterior design of the 2018 Accord I would be trading Camry for one, for now I am waiting until I find something I like to come along, once I do I will gladly be unloading this car. As a family who has always loved toyota's and this was the 4th one we have purcahsed wihtin 17 years... I strongly discourage buying a 2018 Camry.

Lags similar built Accord
Driving control not great because gear shifting very weird during acceleration. Seat position too high. No HD radio. Only one USB is a joke. Disappointed did not buy Accord for slightly more because I had one before and it felt more refined in most things. Although the doors on the Camry seem thicker and more safe.

Awesome...except for Scout GPS
No need to write much as most of the other reviews say it all. Beautiful car, handles great, slight noisy engine because of direct fuel injection, comfortable yet firm ride, cool bells & whistles, Entune 3 Sucks. Such a disappointment. I hear the 2019 Camry will have Apple play as does the new Avalon. Toyota really screwed this one up. Audio system sounds great, Scout GPS is the worst system I’ve ever used.

Steer away from the navigation system
2018 Camry XLE has the worst GPS system I have ever tried to use. Looses the Entune connection all the time and you have to reestablish it. When the Scout system is operating it can be 60 to 120 feet off on the location of your next turn or destination point. According to online reviews Toyota has known of this poor performance for several years but still promotes this system as a good accessory. I have owned several Camry's and this will be my last. I am not a big fan of accessories that work only in the dealerships parking lot.

Great Car Navigation Sucks
Pro: 6 cylinder is pretty quick. It will snap your head back in sport mode. Technology in the car is awesome. The safety features with radar and such are great. Leather interior is comfortable. The heads up display is a great addition. It comes in handy... Cons: freaking navigation is ridiculous. The fact that you need to plug your phone in, in order to use it to it's fullest extent is stupid. The apps drain my Android battery as well when I'm not in the car. I love the car and recommend it as it looks/runs great and has some excellent safety features along with awesome tech. However the entune sytem with the navigation needs some upgrades. I usually use my phone's navigation anyways but it would be a lot more convenient if the car's navigation was more functional.

Love this car!
The Camry SE overall is an excellent vehicle, but there are a couple of things that need to be fixed/improved upon. It's pretty noisy when accelerating but it does quiet down as you get up to speed. The Entune infotainment system is the worst feature on the vehicle. It responds slowly and is basically a headache on most days so I'll just listen to my iPod or the radio when driving. When Entune does work, it's just okay at best. Handling is great as this is quite the easy vehicle to drive and it really scoots when you get on the highway. Make sure to pay attention to the speedometer because it's really easy to go faster than you may have intended. All things considered though, I really like this car and I'm happy to have it.

Recommend stay away if you use iPhone or Andriod
The car perform pretty much as expected for a Camry. We tried LE and SE. But in the end we had to walk away. Here are our primary reasons. 1. No Carplay or Andriod play support, we have mostly iPhone in the family and I see how important this is. their Entune is absolute a joke. lack of Carplay really create a safety issue for my teens. 2. Car noise, the road noise is appears to be higher than other like Accord or Optima. Better tire may help. 3. Wish it had better front visibility. the tallest in the family is 5.5. wish the front hood was lower for better visibility. Ultimately we chose the Accord, slightly more money but quieter and peppier.

I want my 2015 BACK!
My husband decided to surprise me and trade my 2015 Camry SE for a new 2018. While at the dealership, he sent me a picture of it. It's my favorite color, blue. He told me about all the tech advancements and the slight change to the navigation system. HA! If I could undo the trade I would in a HEARTBEAT! I not only lost the trusty in-dash navigation but also SiriusXM radio. I do a lot of driving and I truly miss both of these. Scout has sent me down the wrong way on one-way streets and countless other not so funny incorrect directions.

too costly 2018 Camry XLE compare to the value!
I bought 2018 Camry XLE, acceleration is horrible. Not getting promised millage. Gas paddle is heavy. Feel pain even driving for 1/2 an hour. Took to the dealer. They said it is the current standard! Nothing wrong with the car! Front seats (leather) are not comfortable. Driving seat is smaller than the older XLE model. Don't waste money purchasing XLE. If you really want Camry, just buy the base model.

False rear seat belt alert
I brought 2018 Camry xse. Car is great overall. However, when anyone sit in the back seat and have their seat belt buckled up. The car will continue to ding at the driver, that other two seats need to be buckle up. Even though there is no passengers there to be buckle up. Not sure if anyone other 2018 Camry owners experience this problem. Pretty annoying.

6th Toyota - Disappointed and Frustrated
I purchased this vehicle in December, 2017. It was not disclosed to me that the Scout GPS Link software was not compatible with iOS 11.2. After a few days of using the vehicle, I tried to use my navigation, but kept on getting errors. To get full usage of the Scout GPS Link, the phone has to be plugged in via USB. This made it even worse giving me more errors. I brought it to the dealership and spent hours waiting for them to "flash" the software. When they finished they said it still isn't working and the problem was my USB cord and it was a problem with my new iPhone 8. Instead of addressing their software problem, they blamed it on my phone having too new of iOS software!? We ended up talking to the sales manager who didn't make me feel like I was going to be taken care of with my new purchase. He said he'd call Toyota and see what the software engineers could tell him. In the mean time, his solution was to purchase a more expensive vehicle with a different radio/navigation system. It is now the end of February. I just got off the phone with Toyota, and there is still no fix. I'm very frustrated and would never have purchased the vehicle had I known all the features would not work. 3/6/19 update: after 3 frustrating months of no resolution, I traded in the vehicle for the V6 Camry. I wasn’t happy with having to register two vehicle within such a short time period, and having another hard inquiry on my credit report. The V6 is a more powerful and smooth ride and I’ve had no issues with the software.

ditch the 8 speed transmission, it is terrible
be very leery of the 8 speed trans as it is very jerky and does not seem to know what gear it should be in. it bucks in city traffic unless you are in manual shift mode. very sluggish from a dead stop unless you push down hard on pedal but then goes too fast. Also, from a slow start, turning the wheel right to change lanes caused the trans to go into neutral by itself! I almost got hit by cars coming up as my engine was revving but my car was going nowhere for about 3 seconds until the trans re-engaged itself. These things make the car dangerous to drive and it should be re-called. As of April 1, 2020 I still have this car. It is nowhere near as enjoyable a car to drive as my old 2011 Camry with a V6 6speed or my current 2014 Sienna V6 6 speed. Note: this 8 speed trans would probably be ok with a g6, but not with the 4 cyl.(updated 4/1/21. As of 4/3/22 I have 30,000 miles on this car with no major problems. The trans is still jerky and never knows what gear to be in, but the gas mileage is so good that I am willing to put up with it considering the price of gas is so high nowadays since Trump is out of office.

Could be better
I have owned my 2018 Camry SE about a year now. Within the first 3 months- Rear seatbelt sensor would start going off LOUDLY indicating that the person in the middle didn't have a seatbelt on. NO one was sitting there. Super irritating. The drivers window started making a loud noise when lowered when it rains. Took it to Toyota and got the seatbelt thing sorted out. They also told me they fixed the window now that it rained the noise is back. Sounds like its catching on the rubber. The Toyota entune SUCKS!! When playing music it shows different artist information, I have saved my 5 contacts to the main screen but whenever i call someone a different picture shows up. I mean these two details are not a deal breaker but still annoying. The WORST thing is the acceleration. Press on the gas and like other reviews have said it lags. The throttle feels irregular. Press the pedal lightly nothing really happens and if you add a little more pressure it takes off. At first I thought I just needed time to get used to the gas pedal but it sounds like its a common problem. Honestly I don't think I would've purchase this car. Bummer because I think they did a great job on the body design, when I see i love it and once i start driving i don't!

Expected lot more from legendary Toyota
Several years ago my friend had Toyota Camry and it was real pleasure to drive, but 2018 model is somewhat different and I am really upset with this car. I got it 7 days ago and made on it 300 miles. First of all it’s very stiff, I can fill every small pothole on the road. Toyota advertised it as 39 mpg on highway but so far it does not go over 31. I tried ECO and normal mode but mpg does not change so far. Acceleration is not predictable and you don’t know how to press gas pedal: smoothly or more aggressively. Heating seats works OK, but sets itself also XLE version does not have HD radio, which is really weird. Other technological advances are pretty much OK. Conclusion is simple : Toyota could not do it this time.
Sexy car
You have several choices and packages for the 2018 Camry. I had a 06 previously. After seeing the re-designed 2018's. I knew I had to have one. The Rav 4 was up for the running. But my SE is soo sleek and sexy, I got it off the show room floor. I wanted a sunroof but didn't want the price. But this one works good for my needs. It sits low kinda between a sedan and a sports car. Acceleration is great it has S for the sports mode gearshift. Audio is great, also lane assist, auto high beam lights. I love my new car.

Toyota Left Out Some Key Features Competitors Have
I was comparison shopping between this car and a 2018 Honda Accord. I test drove the Camry SE and XSE (both 2.5Ls) and an Accord Touring (1.5T). I ended up choosing the Accord, the reasoning to follow. I slightly prefer the exterior of the Camry to the Accord, especially the rear, but up front the Accord looks better. Toyota's gaping maw of a grill is a bit off-putting. The Accord drives better. I have only driven the Accord with the 1.5T/CVT combo, but even with a CVT, the transmission is much better than the ZF 8-speed in the Camry which is incredibly jerky, especially at low speed. You'll notice a lot of other reviewers also hate on the 8-speed. The Accord's CVT is probably the best CVT on the market and is very smooth with good acceleration. The Accord also has adaptive dampers (in Touring trims), which the Camry does not. When you push the Sport mode button in the Accord it actually signficantly changes the driving dynamics. You can feel the car tighten the suspension and steering and the transmission changes its character to be more aggressive. I also prefer the design of the Accord's interior. It isn't quite as flashy as the Camry's but it is significantly more ergonomic and user-friendly (other than terrible cupholders). The Accord is one of the few Honda vehicles to feature Honda's redesigned infotainment system, which is quite good and a million times better than the joke Entune system in the Camry. The Accord also has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which the Camry doesn't. The Accord has a couple other features the Camry doesn't have (at any price point, even though the Camry costs almost $2K more that the Accord at the top end): memory seats, ventilated seats, and over-the-air software updates via Wi-Fi. The omission of the first two is absolutely unbelievable to me. Almost every competitor has ventilated/memory seats in the top trim levels and for less money than the Camry. I have heard Toyota wants to "reserve" those features for the Avalon, which is super-lame, because, like I said, competitors have them. In its defense, the Camry does have a 360 degree camera system and a panoramic sunroof, which the Accord does not have, but for me personnally, the memory/ventilated seats are far more important than those features. The visibility out of both cars is great, so the 360 degree camera is a bit unnecessary. The pano sunroof seems nice, but I never use my sunroof. If you read any direct comparisons between these two cars by professional auto reviewers, every last one of them has given the Accord the victory over the Camry. Also, looking at owner reviews on this website, the Accord is crushing the Camry in owner satisfaction. Toyota did a nice job with this revamp, but the Accord is still a better overall vehicle and has been for decades. Some will argue that Toyota sells more Camrys than Honda does Accords every year. True, however, a significant portion of Camry sales are fleet sales to rental car companies. Removing that from the equation, they are fairly equal in sales each year. One last point: I see a lot more old Accords on the road than I do old Camrys. They are both reliable, but the Accord being a better-driving car all these years is more likely to remain with an owner for a long time.

Camrys downfall
I’ve had this car for a week, driving it 80 miles a day round trip for work, since my 2017 Camry SE required to have the sunroof repaired. This 2018 model Camry is tiny exterior wise, my 2017 Camry is so much more larger and comfortable, it’s unbelievable it’s an upgrade from the 2017 model. Passengers in the back seat literally have no space for their legs, so forget about buying this vehicle to be a family vehicle, unless your only traveling with a new born or very very small children. Unfortunately Toyota didn’t aim this Camry to be a family vehicle and more for single buyers any age. I will be keeping my 2017 Camry until Toyota brings back the larger comfortable Camry, most of us are use to buying a larger more refined Camry, if Toyota doesn’t produce a similar Camry to the previous generations, I’ll be forced to move on to a different vehicle brand. They can keep their new Camry which I call “ the Corolla wanna be Camry” due to its small cabin space.
Toyota engineers should be fired
Don’t buy this 2018 Camry ...the 8speed transmissions is garbage from the factory..don’t make the mistake and buy this lemon...this review is not about the dealer....this problem is Toyota engineers......get the Honda Accord.....the gears on this lemon shift hard slams the gears and shutters ....poor quality......

Abnormal Throttle Response
The 4-cylinder in the 2018 Camry accelerates adequately, but there is a noticeable irregularity to the throttle response. To me the accelerator feel is very non-linear. If you need to accelerate lightly and press the right pedal down a minimal amount (maybe 20 percent) there is almost no engine response. However if you are not careful to continue pressing gently once you reach a certain throttle position the engine over responds and either revs too much and/or inadvertently downshifts a gear or two when you don't want it to. This is disappointing because drive-by-wire technology has been used in many mainstream vehicles for 15+ years now. Perhaps a software update could address this. Interestingly I drove a 2016 Camry rental a couple years back and did not notice this issue. I am hoping this is corrected for the 2019 model year or this may be a deal breaker for me.
