Used 2008 Subaru Legacy Consumer Reviews
Great car
Had this car for over 2 years and have no regrets with my decision. Never owned a Subaru before, but I think I will from now on. Great in the snow, this car literally saved me from an accident several times. Had a Honda for 10 years, feel much safer in this car. Still love the interior, leather, heated seats, interior lighting. Back seat has adequate room. One review commented on the engine ping for several seconds when you first turn off. I addressed that with the service dept when first got the car, it is normal due to cooling down/environmental controls on this car.
First car
This is the first new car I have ever bought. Fun to drive and looks very stylish. I definitely get looks from other drivers. The fuel economy is marginal at best.

100,000 and still going
This is my first car which I purchased used in high school. I didn't put many miles on it at the time but I have been a commuter for college. The car is great in all conditions but I have had all of the typical Subaru problems including head gasket which started leaking at 50k and was repaired and is leaking again (it's not going to get fixed this time) and wheel bearings. It is a 9 year old car at this point with a good amount of mileage so it is bound to have its problems. The other big issue I have always had and you will to if you do a lot of highway driving is the wind noise due to having no seal around the car door windows. This issue also leads to a tendency of the car being super pichy on windy days.

Best value for the money
Great car. Tried them all. Audi4, Volvo60, Saab93. This car has the best return for dollars spent. The ride is better then most. It handles great, and I just got 31 mpg on highway speed max at 65 mph to 60 mph for about 120 miles highway only.
Favorite car
Just traded in a very expensive to mantain VW Passat that I loved, but this Subaru Legacy is now my favorite car so far. I just drove to Las Vegas and averaged 31-32 miles a gal at 75- 80 mph. I faced some extreme winds and the car held its own quite well. I can't wait to take it in the snow!
