Used 2023 Subaru Forester Consumer Reviews
2023 Subaru Forester Premium Perspective
What one gets for the price is tough to beat. The best features are the miles per gallon, four-wheel drive system, room & visibility and overall comfort. It helps to be familiar with the differences between a CVT and other types of transmissions. I had the advantage of driving Subarus for nearly 10 years for a previous employer, so I understood how the transmission operated. When I first started driving them, the CVT was frustrating. Over time, I grew to appreciate how it operates. The horsepower and torque could be higher, which is why the overall score is 4 instead of 5 stars. What's undeniable is the incredible MPG's obtained for this size SUV. Combined MPG's is typically 31 MPG's on regular gas. Add the nearly 17-gallon fuel tank, and my range on the highway is about 550 miles. And at 2000 RPM's, there is plenty of power to accelerate quickly. The only other knock, aside from the off the line acceleration, is that the brakes are a bit softer that I prefer. But once that has been gotten used to, it's really not an issue. In closing, I considered the Mazda CX-5 and the VW Tiguan when shopping for an SUV. The bottom line was I decided that this was the SUV that would handle rain, snow, and ice the best, get the better gas milage, have the best visibility, be better for long road trips, and have the most interior room and comfort. The real dials for the HVAC and radio and the button to easily kill the hated engine auto-stop were also welcomed extras.

My First Bells and Whistles Car, Why Did I Wait?
So far, the only thing I dislike about this car is the color, but that is my fault, as I specifically sought out a 2023 after the '24 models were on the showroom floor, so the inventory was quite limited for the year. Drives like one of the vintage 'boats' with a smooth ride and comfortable interior. The safety features are amazing. The power train is smooth and meets all my needs.

Fancy Forester for Frank
The car is safe! It's roomy and comfortable. It has a lot of the advanced features that I was looking for. I love the moon roof and the heated seats. I'm a big guy and appreciate the extra headroom and adjustable driver's seat. The car is economical.
