Used 2023 Subaru Forester Consumer Reviews
a very good practical suv
Likes: spacious seating and cargo area especially considering the relatively small exterior dimensions, great all around visibility, comfortable ride, good handling, traction, and braking, fairly smooth cvt that can almost pass for a regular automatic transmission, numerous safety features that help lower my insurance rates.. in fact my agent said the forester is one of the cheapest to insure small suvs, nicely appointed interior, very good optional Harmon sound system...acceleration is sufficient for my needs... a few minor dislikes: mpg about 2 mpg less than epa tests despite my very conservative driving style, uncertain long term reliability due to cvt and overall complexity..overall an excellent ride although according to recent reviews, the 2025 models might even be slightly improved in some areas.. 1 year update.. My original comments still apply...to add, I really like the steering adaptable headlights and the auto high beam mode..the reverse emergency braking and blind spot monitors are great safety aids...so far no reliability issues...minor cons..the review mirror is positioned slightly low and might hinder visibility for some...low beams have a sharp cutoff, probably designed that way to avoid blinding on coming traffic..however if you engage auto mode and high beam, sharp cutoff is eliminated and illumination is great....mpg still less than advertised...overall, no regrets and would buy again..

Fist time Subaru owner
I have always driven Chevy vehicles. Checked out Subaru this time, the dealership was very helpful. My sales man was very helpful, and spent time explaining the difference between the thee vehicles I was interested. He made the sale, and I am very happy with my purchase.

My 2nd Forester
I sold my 2018 Forest (for a very good price) and purchased a 2023 Forester. I cannot say anything negative. It has a lot more safety features compare to the 2018. (lane departure, a braking system that prevents you from getting too close to a car, to mention a few). It drives well and has nice size trunk . It gets pretty good mileage especially on the highway. Highly recommend it.
