Used 2004 Subaru Forester XT AWD 4dr Wagon w/Premium Leather Package (2.5L 4cyl Turbo 4A) Consumer Reviews
Could not have made a better choice
Three months and 2,300 miles in and the choice of this vehicle feel better and better with each driving session. This vehicle gives the you power of a turbo, without a huge lag time. As a driver you are afforded the ability to pass with speed, safety and feeling of control. The Fit and finsh of the leather package and the clean lines of the interior make driving easy and comfortable.
Love it!
I just traded in my 98 Volvo S70T5A for the 04 XT PP. The XT wallows less around curves and has less lag. The XT just wants to go. The auto is well matched with the engine. It's a blast to drive and has tons of utility that my Volvo didn't have. Another plus is that the insurance is just a touch more than I was paying on my 6 year old Volvo! Go figure. I gave up a touch of luxury for way more grins!
Great little SUV
After driving for about 5 months, this is a great little sport ute. Compared to my LandRover this car is much more fun to drive, much better gas mileage, better handling. Still has good headroom like LR. Could be better looking. Put on 17" wheels with Michelins which improved looks and handling. Drives more like sports car.
XT Roxors!
I looked at the Pilot, the Murano, the Passat, the Element and even drove a 5 series BMW wagon. None of them impressed me the way the Subaru did, and the Forester was at least 8k cheaper than any of them.
Fun!
This car is just plain fun to drive. even with the automatic,i'ts quick off the line, passes everything with ease and rolls effortlessly. Seems to have excellent handling characteristics on winding roads and feels much more stable (and powerful) than the Explorer it replaces and a heck of a lot cheaper than the Toureg I was considering. Not sure I'd want to take it off road much though but for a daily driver, it's excellent. Not nearly as quiet inside as I would prefer- seems like the higher end SUV's have a lot more sound deadening-still this is pretty minor at this price point.
