Goodness Me

I love everything about this vehicle: the awesome interior to the stylish exterior (or as the ladies say, "cute" :) ). Not much get-up-and-go, but for $13,000 no one expects that. It is a lot of fun to drive, though.

A lot of Bang for the Buck

It's hard to see fault in my car so far. We bought it for its roominess, we regulary drive with 2 adults and 3 teens in the car. So far no complaints from them although our drives have been an hour or less. I wouldn't take it on a several hour drive with the entire family. Another plus was the simple buying process which was in stark contrast to another dealership (Honda) that we purchased from a week before. A total of 2 hours in the Scion dealership versus 4- 5 Hours in Honda and many Tylenol later from repeatedly telling the "finance" guy NO to aftermarkets products.

Before I had maxima 1998 - it was dragon with gas. With my xa I do not remember when I put gas into my car. I love size of the car, it is comfortable. It is easy to park in NY.

I bought my 2006 in Dec 2005 new. I liked the 39 mpg rating, but it was the test drive that sold me. I drove the 5 speed manual transmission and it was smooth. And it had plenty of pep for such a small engine. Everything still works wonderfully. I just replaced brakes but everything else is original and great. A great value.

This Car Pays For Itself - Great Car !!

Have my Scion a couple week. Just love the car. It is really solid and handles well. Loads of leg and head room. Love the fact that you cna build the car you want instead of paying for options you never use. Can't beat the gas mileage. I am getting betwen 37 and 41 mpg and the car is not even broke in. In fact, being this car is getting double the gas mileage of my others. I have set- up a Scion Saver account and I deposit my gas savings in the account every time I fill-up. The way I see it if gas prices remain I will have the car paid off in about 3 years off my gas savings alone.

Great ride but.....

My Scion xA rides/handles great. Seat very comfortable for my 5'7". O/S it's so CUTE too! However, high engine noise on highway makes me want to shift to 5th gear but I'm IN 5th!! Not smooth shifting either. Center speedometer?? Think again. Scion inside material (only choice) black makes the cars (roomy for a little car) interior feel suffocatingly small. Interior textures hard to clean too! My 02 Ford Focus's grey interior feels SO much bigger, cleaner and is easier to clean !! 06 xA's cup holder wont hold a coffee cup. No handle cutout so sits at an angle, sloshing. Sorry!

I have had my car 3yrs and have been completely satisfied. The seats are comfortable and sit high for good visibility. The gas mileage is decent. And I like the looks. I hope to have this car a long time.

I can't believe that I could fit my dining table in this car. It's just a good buy! Very large cargo space. It's gas efficient.

Best Car I Ever Bought

I’ve owned this car a little over 3 years now and I’m approaching 30K miles. It is the best car I’ve ever owned. No trips to the dealer except for scheduled maintenance. I live in Ventura and it’s perfect for parking in tight spots and doing the 7-mile commute to work down the 101. Stereo is great! I average 33 MPG; Lowest MPG was 30 and highest (round trip: vacation to Bakersfield) was 39.47. I’m 6 ft. and I can “sit behind myself”. MPGs would be even better if there was a 6th “overdrive” gear. Friends are impressed and sad; too bad they stopped making these. The xD is not really a replacement. If I had to replace this car today I’d give the Honda Fit a serious once-over.

The Scion xA is a funky little "Mini Cooper"-like buggy that is a blast to drive. It has Toyota / Lexus quality with standard power windows, doors, mirrors, ABS, 15 inch wheels, and a kick butt 6 speaker stereo that will even play your MP3's. It is near the top in gas mileage and, unlike the Mini, runs on regular. Despite its size, the front seats are roomy and very comfortable. The driving position / view of the road is similar to driving a minivan or an SUV. It handles well. The ride is a little choppy on uneven surfaces though. The engine provides ample power, but is a bit anemic when the car loaded. For $14,070 out the door (plus tax/tags), how can you beat it?
