transmission and timing chain failure
I had my 2007 Saturn outlook Xe repair on 1/31/11 by GM dealer because of the timing chain and transmission cost $5626.08 Most mechanics stated that is unusually both at the same time. I had been getting a lot of recalls for this timing chain after the work was done. I found that this was an issue before by SUV needed repairs. Then i saw this notice: GM CUSTOMER CARE AND AFTERSALES DCS2552 URGENT - DISTRIBUTE IMMEDIATELY Date: February 9, 2010 Subject: 10287 - Customer Satisfaction Program Premature Timing Chain Wear - Reprogram ECM Models: 2007 GMC Acadia, Saturn OUTLOOK 2007-09 Cadillac CTS, SR Why would the dealer charge me, knowing the timing belt was an issue
Great Family Vehicle
The Outlook is a great vehicle for families. 8 Seats is large enough for most families and then some. It does not have as much interior cargo space as some of the other full-size SUVs, but it can still carry quite a bit. All-in-all a favorite in our family.

Buyer Beware!! GM knows about problems
There are not enough characters allowed to convey all the problems you will have if you purchase this car. We bought ours new in 07 and loved the space in the car and how it drove. Within the first year we started having problems with leaking from the sunroof, windows, airbags, under the glove box. We had to pay $600 for repairs when hundreds of others had complained to GM about the same problem. GM has a recall/bulletin on the exterior lights but say our VIN number is not included so even thought we have the exact problem they won't even listen to us b/c of the VIN number. Crazy! Do Yourself A Favor....Stay away from this car!
I love it
It's been almost a year and I have to say I still love my Outlook. I have only one issue, I really wish I got a little better gas mileage. I am averaging about 17 mpg city right now. Would love a couple of miles more. I have a baby and lots of god children and the Outlook carries all our stuff around no problem and everyone has their place. I have only owned Saturns and they are definitely getting better with age.
What a Vehicle
I get stopped all the time at a light when people roll down their window to ask me what kind of car it is. Gets almost 30 mpg at 55 mph and about 24 at 75 mph. Around town it gets a good 17 mpg. We got it loaded except for DVD and GPS. The diamond white tricoat really makes it and it stays a lot cooler in Florida. The remote start and electroni tailgate are awesome. Long rides are a pleasure and set ups for two drivers in seat placement and mirrors make it easy to adjust. Full airbags all around - front to back are well worth the price and I love my OnStar. Bought extra minutes just in case we loose phones during a hurricane. Polished aluminum wheels and exhaust chrome tips a plus.
