Used 2003 Saturn ION 3 4dr Sedan (2.2L 4cyl 5A) Consumer Reviews
Fourth Saturn
This Ion replaced 2 SL's - one with 155000 miles. These are durable, fun cars. I look for the Ion to be equally durable. Fit and finish show an improvement over the SL's. Fun factor is high, and I love the center instrument cluster.
Quiet,quick and responsive.
We bought our Saturn Ion 3 in January. As far as reliabiliy 2 months is not enought time to fully judge, but so far no problems.. with anything. I like the smaller than usual steering weel which frees up room and contributes to the very responsive steering. The leather seats are nicley sewn dispite what I have read about the fabric seats. The 2.2l echotech 140 hp engine has plenty of power and does very well on the interstate. The automatic lighting is a plus and the 160 watt advanced audio kicks. The car could use wider leg room though.
Tough Compitition
The 2003 Ion3 is in every way better than the past SL2. The SL2 gave the Escort a good run for the money...I thing that they needed to let "S- Series" go down in history, like the Cavalier has done. Since they've changed it, it should stay that way. Standard features are those of a luxury car, and it makes me feel good to say to a stranger, oh, the lights cut off themselves, but thanks!
Worhtless
I haven't had my Ion 3 for its first oil change yet, and i've already made 4 trips to the dealership for repairs. First the drivers door was falling apart. Then again for a 4 wheel alignment, but my car still pulls to the left.
I love my new Ion!
Very good car...looks great, drives well. Excellent deal for a young family.
