My Astra-A Great Decision
Easiest handling, most comfortable, best fuel economy of the 5 Saturns I have bought or leased.
Nice little car
I'm 6'3" and I have plenty of leg room in this car. We have put 900 miles on so far and are averaging 30.2 mpg mixed city and highway. We test drove a bunch of small cars before the Astra. We noticed the quality of this vehicle right away. This car just feels solid.

First 5000 miles
I went looking at SUVs but on a lark test drove the Astra too. I like it better. I do like the European lines and handling. I find that the interior is a little cramped. I can never find a comfortable place for my left leg. The gas tank is too small, only 10 gallons, and the window washer tank could also hold more. The 1.8 liter could use more "omph" but the mileage has been very good. Surprisingly, there are quite a few interior rattles in the dash and around the sunroof. I like that it came with many features that cost a lot more on other cars. It is fun to drive too.

Better than expected
This quirky little car is fun to drive, and with the manual trans I've never averaged less than 30 mpg per tank in mixed driving. For the price, it's amazing to have rain sensing wipers, automatic headlights, and a trip computer. Only complaint is that it follows any grove in the road like crazy. If you're considering a Mazda3, test drive the Astra too - very compariable is every way but price.
