Used 2004 Nissan Maxima 3.5 SL 4dr Sedan (3.5L 6cyl 4A) Consumer Reviews
what a beutiful car!
beautiful style, confortable ride
Too Big, Too Expensive, Too Much like..
The Altima!! Looks like an oversized Altima. Even though it has 10 more hp it's slower than the 2002/2003 model because it gained 150+ pounds! $35K for a FWD V6 Nissan Maxima??? The G35 would make more sense. 2004 Maxima lost it's uniqueness as a flagship. For less, you can get an Altima, for the same price, get the G35

The Maxima is Back
Had a 1992 Maxima and loved it. bought a 2000 Camry but missed the true luxury. The 2004 Maxima has it and then some. Couldn't drive more than an hour in the Camry without stopping to ease my legs and back. In the Maxima I can literally drive all day. Drove across Tioga Pass and it handled like a sports car. We love it!
Makes you feel young again
After 3000 miles I find my Nissan Maxima a joy to drive. It accelerates like no other car I have ever driven. Hardly a day goes by that someone doesn't comment "Nice Car". What are the negatives? Some small details I would like to see changed. l. I like my ignition key on the steering column rather than on the dash. I like the door handles flush, pull outs, rather than the extended handles. I would like some place in front for a trash receptical. And, I don't like having to use premium gas. But you can't have everything.
good car but nothing special
I bought this car used from a family friend 2 years ago. It is at 76k miles and has not had any major problems. I feel like the car is mid-range in every aspect. For instance, the V6 engine is responsive but nothing like a sports coupe. It gets decent gas mileage but nothing spectacular. I like the look and design of the interior, but the materials used makes it feel a little cheap. Overall I think this car is good at a lot of things but great at nothing. It looks and feels more sporty than my Mom's Camery, but has all the same practical uses. It is a rational choice for someone looking for a functioning car with a little more flare than your average sedan.
