Used 2012 Nissan Altima Consumer Reviews
used 2012 with 138,000 miles
Bought vehicle from my nephew who meticulously maintains his vehicles. In 9 years he has never experienced any major problems with engine, 3.5 V6 or transmission, CVT. I live in a mountainous area in NY state (Catskill Mtns)and my driving style is very spirited. The Altimas steering and handling on mountain roads is very tight and responsive. Acceleration is overwhelming, either on steep uphill grades or highway speeds. Braking is equally tight. Having bought the car at 9 years and 138,000 miles it still handles and performs like new. So after driving the car for 9,000 miles, the only problem seems to be the tire pressure sensor. If you have the opportunity purchase a used 3.5 with the cvt , go go for it

So far so good
I just bought my car from a pretty awesome dealership with 90,000 miles I have no credit so my interest is really really high I got the 2012 and so far I love it I drive ALOT for work and the gas lasts me all week It doesn’t have much power so to get out into the lanes I have to punch it and the engine is kind of loud at first kind of raddles not sure if that’s all Nissans this year. I’m a mother of two so the fact it doesn’t have too much horse power im ok with just want to get into the lanes a bit faster living in a busy city. But all in all so far so good no problems to report I hope my money is worth the car I’ll check in with any further issues.

Great car overall.
I have all the bells and whistles. Bought it last month with 39000 miles. Very comfortable seating. (leather). Great ride and steering. Holds the road very well with a quiet ride. My first cvt transmission. Hear a lot of negatives on it, but once you get used to it you'll enjoy the smoothness. Just do your required servicing and you'll be fine. Plenty of power with the 2.5. I drive conservatively and get an astounding 30+mpg in the city. At hwy speeds, (70-80mph) a little less. (28mpg) All considered, I would buy another. Good value for the price.

A Family sedan car for REAL
We love our Altima, everybody drives it cause its give good MPG. I fillup and takes me everywhere, farther places and still last a week. I'm a truck guy so I use to seeing the fuel gauge needle move daily but on this Altima it takes awhile. When I dirve I average 28-30 mpg combine with 40 city and 60 hwy. The cabin is roomy specially the backseats. I never seen a roomy back seats car like the Altima. The trunk is massive can probably fit 2 full size adults with some space to spare. Love the suspension not noisy and handles very well. I can park easily and maneuver around corners, remember I'm a pickup truck guy so driving this car is mere child play.
nice ride not so good economy
The ride is soft, does not vibrate, feels comfortable nice viewing in all directions, engine is reliable, not too powerful, needs some warming in the cold days. The economy is not as good as would like it, but while the gas is reasonably priced is not expensive, but is a worry for the time when gas price will jump. Had to replace rotors and calipers at 60 k mi, original parts from Nissan are expensive, you have to rely in oem manufaturers, the Nissan service is very expensive as well. Better look for alternatives once the warranty is over. The braking is not very good in the snow, the brake pads tend to block for some reason. Other than that the braking performs well if you tend to push it to the limit, is a heavy car.
